      Not to deny any hope and dreams.. but the only way i see the appearance of a lamia pony is if they find some other mythological creature they can't identify, so Twilight flicks through a book of known creatures, and as she's flicking through some pages we briefly see a lamia in there.. That's how i see it anyway :P
