heard about the oscars hitting the lowest rating ever.
I am glad that people say "We don't want your politics and virtue signaling. We want entertainment."
Why should i listen to actors, that make millions of dollars every year, how bad certain people are treated? By the end of the night, they went back to their expansive mansions, sipping their champagne and count the money they have, some of them probably not giving a single cent to any of these badly treated people.
There is a time and place to push your political views and the casual audience doesn't want to see them at the oscars.
(atleast shape of water is the most worthy winner of the last few years.)

I hardly saw any of the noteworthy movies that won an Oscar... none of them even sounded good in the first place. Except for Coco, which I really do like. That was an exception.
So partially because of that, and partially because of the inevitable virtue signalling, I made sure not to watch. Now, I didn't exactly boycott the Oscars. I just don't care about them.
And it sounds to me like I didn't miss anything I would have enjoyed. The only thing even mildly entertaining when I watched last year was the Best Picture blunder at the very end.
