Been a while. We all good so far this year?
-
Happy Hearth's Warming All!
Hope it's been a good one!

Is anyone else just drained and sick of Rule 34 at this point like I am, especially for RWBY and Pokemon? Nowadays I just find the stuff disrespectful to characters themselves.
But that's not my biggest issue: The issue is that THIS COUPLE, from Sword and Shield, only has FOUR pieces of fluffy artwork which ISN'T R34 in the least over the entire internet. Four.
Even for the internet that's... That's tragically sad and concerning.

My personal thoughts on the Grogar twist:
I felt it cheapened and undermined the potential the finale had, not to mention making it appear like Discord keeps taking his friends for granted and hasn't learned a single thing since his supposed redemption. It just adds more weight to that Celestia is the one who keeps mucking everything up: It was HER idea to reform that clown to begin with.
I couldn't care less about Tirek, Chrysalis and ESPECIALLY Cozy. A huge, big bad that both heroes and villains would have to combine their efforts again sounded more appealing and befitting, than a shoddy excuse for humour that makes it like none of the past characters have learned anything at all.

The Grogar twist. Did you enjoy it or did it ruin the finale for you?
-
I wouldn't say it ruined the finale, I still enjoyed it. But it was my least favorite part of it – I'd still have preferred having Grogar be the real one (however that would have changed the other parts of the finale, I don't know).
Discord has been forgiven quite a few times, indeed (and he never really seems to learn)...

The three waifus of Sword and Shield:
1. The Twilight of Pokemon.2. Destroy me.
3. If I were a child again.
Anyone else who managed to stomach through the new games got a top three waifu/husbando list for them?

Pokemon Sword:
Awful.
Awful awful awful awful worst waste of time I've ever committed to this year. You can plainly see that the money went towards the visuals and the (stupid) Dynamax mechanic. Half of the new Pokemon were repugnant or forgettable, the region barely has much of interest to keep my invested exploration-wise, the story is barebones and bland, the handholding here is more atrocious than it was in Sun and Moon, the characters were subpar. Just nothing about this game that'll make me replay it; there's barely even any postgame content to keep me around. A huge misstep obvious from the beginning when GF kept making excuses for their actions during its development.
There are only FOUR highlights to the game that really aren't worth alone to go through this boring travesty:
- Sonia. Step aside Cynthia, Elesa and Skyla, this geek is the new ultimate waifu of Pokemon.
- Hop being the first friendly rival that's actually likable.
- Galarian Weezing.
- The mushroom town.Just... I don't recommend this game. At all. It's more an embarrassment to the latest generation of Pokemon than Gen VII was! And that's honestly impressive!
Save your money for the new Animal Crossing instead.

144 moves have been removed from Sword and Shield. This is just... Depressing.

"Welcome to the nuzlocke versus! Hi I'm Stardust and this is Spike with me. Today, Pokemon Sword and Shield just came out, and we're gonna have a showdown like no other. Twilight and Starlight are in the former's bedroom, as Spike and I are in mine. We're playing Sword and they're playing Shield; racing to beat the championship of the games first and then battle in a finale to determine who is the real champion! Let's explain what nuzlocke rules we're going for here, Spike?"
"With pleasure! These rules are mandatory and can't be broken under any circumstances:
- Only Galarian versions of past Pokemon can be used. The main starter of the game can only be used until we get our first Galarian Pokemon.
- Starters are determined by the last number of our trainer ID card; one-three is grass, four-six is water and seven-nine is fire. Zero is free choice!
- We can only catch the first Pokemon you see per route or area. Since Pokemon visibly reveal themselves before you battle them, we're going to catch only the first Pokemon we see. If we encounter a Pokemon first we already caught, only then are we allowed to try that same area until we find one we haven't caught. Legendaries are completely optional.
- We have to name ALL Pokemon we catch or earn.
- Any Pokemon that faints, stays fainted and has to be released post-battle. If the whole team faints, you get one chance of a do-over with only ONE of that team to be kept around. If you lose the party a second time, it's game over.""That pretty much covers it, good work son! Now, the screen before us is split into two: One half showing our gameplay, the other showing theirs next door. With everything covered, let's get this nuzlocke underway!"

Stardust: "I'm gonna hit the thing."
Twilight: "Jack Edward James Wright, do not hit the thing. The thing can't be hit, it is unhittable. Bad will occur. Here's twenty diagrams and notes as to why hitting the thing is a colossally bad idea."
Stardust: "...I'm gonna hit the thing."

Watched the season eight finale.
...LOUD SIGH.
I think I may have found a contender for worst season finale since five and six. Can't even put into words the sheer incredulity, annoyance and anger I feel right now watching that travesty.
All in all, season eight was a mediocre waste of time. Few promising gems here and there, but all others otherwise just average and nonsensical.

I've watched the Season 8 finale three times since it first aired & I still don't remember what happens.

Oh Sunset... My dear Sun. You were always one of the only two redeeming qualities that Equestria Girls could possibly have.
-
You know what the saddest thing is? Twenty years, and Ash only won the League that's the easiest of all seven gens by far.

Heyo all! Windows 10, as I'm finding out, is great! How are we all?

@Usager Gotta love those forced mandatory updates that inevitably break shit.
-
@Dark Horse i just went for some snacks and when i got back the thing was already at "installing some probably unnecesary garbage, dont reboot"
im pretty sure i did set it to not update

Season Finale: "And they all lived happily ever after... Except they won't since they'll follow Celestia's stagnant, ignorant ways of ruling and leave Equestria in danger from countless threats and multiples species prejudice for another thousand years."
-
Classic excuse:
"People who complain about something valid or plot holes in a particular franchise I loved missed the point/don't comprehend the plot."
Or they did the point/comprehend the story and just don't agree with it. Criticism doesn't strictly mean ignorance.
