  1. Postmodernist pseudo-intellectuals plaguing academia and the media.
  2. "Maybe it's just a friendship problem, and it will all be cleared up in a half an hour or so" Hahaha brilliant

  3. This could work on some criminals. That said, don't except this to be a reliable solution. People are not blank slates, nor are they solely a collection of experiences. Some people are inherently different than others; this is not something that the environment may necessarily be able to change.
  4. Read, study, interpret "according to God", live your life by it. The former is the only one of these things I'll be doing for now.
  5. Because many forms of gaming are highly competitive by nature. As a result, they bring in competitive people.
  6. My knowledge of history on the subject is a bit rusty; mind pointing out a few genocides that were caused primarily by religion?
  7. Why? It's about as "good" as if interracial marriage were to decrease; it is of no moral consequence. It's not a false belief. India and Nigeria are very poor. Not sure why knowing about a country's economic situation is indicative of a colonialist mindset.
  8. Baltimore is getting scary

Hopefully my chances of going to the Con aren't ruined.

  9. the worst type of pattern

  10. Yeah, although alternatively they're sometimes called "strains". Basically, one step under subspecies. Many organisms tend to either not have strains/races in the first place, due to lack of population distinction, or have them treated as "subspecies". Here's an article that goes a it more in-depth. That said, we're going a bit off topic, so perhaps we should continue this via PM.
  11. Historical racial classifications are outdated and inaccurate. Almost nobody takes them seriously anymore. You shouldn't be concerned with wether racial classification is taxonomically/genetically useful or not. Racial strife happens regardless of it. I dunno. Does the classification of birds have any relevance beyond its own existence?
  12. Never contested that. Race isn't necessarily inaccurate. It's just a taxonomic classification of human strains (something which is of interest to many people, myself included). Wether it's irrelevant depends on the situation, really.
  13. They weren't supposed to be for children, though. They were just a collection of folktales.
  14. Considering how the behavior persists when the factors are removed, nope. They're, on average, inferior in terms of upper-body strength. Inferior as people? Nah. They're just Eastern Europeans. Nothing particularly odd (unlike, say, the Lapps or the Basque). Nobody here is saying there are universal standards.
  15. I don't care either way. It's unlikely to happen because "muh gay agenda", though. Not sure where you got that idea. It's largely the opposite amongst the mainstream. Didn't the Brothers Grimm depict rape, murder, and torture in their original stories? It's not like they were originally for children anyhow.
  16. Nobody said they were "guaranteed to never deviate". I don't even know where you got this idea. Factors, if they cannot be removed, can be accounted for. I also linked to a study showing the same behavior in chimpanzees. Nobody is contesting that. It's a good thing nobody is saying this goes for everyone then. Oh, is that why the FDNY had to lower standards so that it could get more women to join? They're overwhelmingly European, and as such can be (and are) lumped into them. It's not like most Europeans are pure anyhow. Taxonomic, anthropological, genetic, etc. Races don't have to be pure for them to exist. The existence of alloys does not mean metals do not exist.
  17. So can wolves and dogs. The fact that there are intermediates between red and blue does not mean they do not exist. Also, no, there has not been "too much blending" for many people. For one, we can actually trace someone's genetic ancestry (services such as 23andme offer this). Secondly, a lot of people are heavily homogenous (for example, many white Americans do not have traceable non-white ancestry). So, yeah. Race is pretty much a thing (I also left another link that gave some other reasons, not sure if you checked that out.
  18. Nah. Arguments of "inferiority/superiority" tend to be pretty stupid. I'd attribute this to lower average female aggression (comparative lack of testosterone and all).
  19. Nope. Most of history has been played out by men. Why that is, I'll leave up to others to decide.
  20. I'd also like to add that gender roles have been observed amongst chimpanzees. Higher responsiveness to emotion is worrying, though. Uh, no. It does.
  21. Yup. Probably a reason politics is such shit right now. That said, women tend to be more responsive to emotion. So, I think that would probably be a step in the wrong direction. I'd rather have people checking wether their claims true. Well, for one, it's actually true. I don't see why you think these trends would have to be universal.
  22. Emotion is overrated when it comes to politics. Pragmatism, please. Pretty much this. Fairness > equality.
  23. Statisticians, politicians, political enthusiasts, policy makers, generally anyone who works with very large groups of people.
