  1. Jinx sighed and shook her head. "I suppose that's true. But I'd prefer to have the ability to go home without your 'friends' attempting to kill me if I try." She stared at Slumberfur as he explained how leaders worked, and blinked slowly. "Yeah, um, forgive me if I say this is something I need to see for myself before I believe it."
  2. "Ugh," Jinx hissed, lashing her tail. "Why am I being targeted just for not being born in this forest? I didn't ask to be dragged out here, and it's not like any of those other ones will let me leave!" THen something Slumberfur said caught on with her, and she turned to look at him. "Wait, did you say your leader has nine lives? As in, if she dies she'll just come back to life?"
  3. Jinx padded alongside Slumberfur and listened to his muttering, feeling rather curious herself. It was interesting how the cats seemed to be targeting them. "You would think your leader would be who they were after," she added, "but they're coming after us instead."
  4. Indus glanced up toward where Flearia was looking, and saw toward the 'hero' exiting the building. His eyes narrowed, and he was almost certain she was correct. "Yes, the less attention we draw to ourselves, the better," he muttered, finishing his coffee and setting it on the table before slowly standing. "Keep at a distance, but keep her in sight. We need to see what she's up to."
  5. Jinx, having no better ideas than that, decided to walk after Slumberfur back to the territory. "Your suspicions?" she repeated, slowly padding up to his side. "Something to do with those weird cats showing up?"
  6. "Was just trying to be nice," Jinx muttered, rolling her eyes and glancing aside. She did feel true concern for him for a moment. She looked aside at him again. "I can't think of anyone I would tell if I wanted to anyway."
  7. Jinx watched the fight, catching herself hoping Slumberfur would be alright. Though she supposed it made sense now, knowing they were related. She flicked her tail and raised her chin. "I personally wouldn't call a wound like that laughable." When the cat disappeared, she padded over to her brother. "You don't look injured at least."
  8. Jinx's nose scrunched up at the scent of blood, not enjoying it. She turned to see a cat approaching, and blinked as she began to think intently. Did that cat seem familiar...? Before she could go further, she was taken by surprise by Slumberfur tackling the cat, and she watched helplessly as the two thrashed around. "Um, should I do something or...?"
  9. Jinx flicked her tail, not really liking how double-edged Slumberfur's apology sounded, but she chose not to make a scene of it. "Yes well, you've all been doing a good job of trying to sound superior to me." She licked at her paw nonchalantly. "Though I suppose I can understand."
  10. Jinx's ears pricked up upon hearing Slumberfur's apology. She hadn't been expecting to hear one from anyone out here, not even him. "Yes, well," she murmured, "I suppose I haven't been the most patient, so I'm sorry too." she said quietly.
  11. Jinx looked rather disgusted at the description of ShadowClan. "Frogs and lizards? Honestly!" she hissed, lashing her tail. While she did enjoy the idea of RiverClan enjoying fish, her favourite food, the one she was staying with did certainly seem to be the most friendly. "I suppose you do sound like the least rude of the bunch, if you take in outsiders."
  12. Indus nodded, sipping his coffee and sitting back in his chair while darting his eyes around. "We need to make ourselves as inconspicuous as possible," he muttered to her, "so we can't linger here for too long."
  13. Jinx raised her chin for a moment, before starting to nonchalantly clean her fur. "If that is what you think then. I still don't think it makes much sense." She looked up at him. "So what if you have different fur? You're still cats, yes?"
  14. "It seems to me that all I've been doing since I came here is be insulted for something I can't control," Jinx commented, her tone making it less like she was offended and more that she was stating a fact. She tilted her head. "This is something I don't understand--why are you not friends? You're all cats, you all have the same enemies, you all live in the same forest. All these 'Clans' and 'territories' just seems a bit pointless." She glanced aside, flicking her tail. "But, who am I to decide how you live your life?"
  15. Jinx tilted her head. She did indeed not understand why this was a problem. "What does it matter? They will be forest cats either way, yes?" She flicked her tail slowly. "Plus, if you have to keep it hidden, just lie. It's not like anyone can prove you're the father."
  16. Jinx's eyes widened in surprise, granting Slumberfur a brief break from her usual nonchalant gaze. She certainly hadn't expected to hear something like that. "So you're going to be a father?" she summed up, and then added with some actual honesty and a purr, "Congratulations then! I always wondered if I would be an aunt one day." She blinked and tilted her head, realising something. "Wait, why don't you want anyone knowing about this? Isn't becoming a father good news?"
  17. "Fair enough," Jinx admitted, flicking her tail, "I can see why they would. Cats tend to make fun of things they don't understand. I suppose I owe an apology..." she added begrudgingly. She looked around, to see if she could spot any other cats nearby. "Good point... perhaps we should go somewhere more private?" She nodded in the direction of the twoleg nest.
  18. "I still say it's rather unfair to make fun of cats who don't understand your lifestyle," Jinx pointed out matter-of-factly, raising her chin in thinking she had the final word. She looked right at him. "Again, I don't know anyone who would care what you were doing. Besides, if we are indeed related, should we not learn to trust each other?"
  19. "It's not really fair to make fun of 'kittypets' for not understanding your customs," Jinx pointed out matter-of-factly, idly flicking her tail. "That's like insulting a newborn kitten for not knowing how to pounce." She glanced aside at Slumberfur. "Not much, I didn't really understand it. You may as well tell me--it's not like I have anyone else to tell it to who would care."
  20. Jinx flinched every so slightly at the orange cat's lunge, and was relieved when Slumberfur called her off. At his comment, she flicked her tail and turned her head away. "Why does everyone act like I was supposed to know all this at the time? All I knew was there were rivers with tasty fish near my home, and a bunch of antisocial cats prowling around them."
  21. "You're so scary," Jinx snarked, narrowing her eyes at the ginger cat. "So what if a few fish go missing every other day? You have plenty more to go around. Why should you get to keep it all to yourself?"
  22. "Considering every single cat I've met out here has been rude to me," Jinx hissed, her haughty posture unfettered. She narrowed her eyes at her. "So if you're not one of them, just who are you then?"
  23. "You have more than enough," Jinx retorted, raising her chin as high as possible, "so it just sounds like greed to me." She lashed her tail. "Besides, I'm being kept here because you cats are too bloodthirsty to let me go home safely!"
  24. "Is it really stealing if you have more than enough to go around?" Jinx huffed, raising her chin a little higher, not to be outdone by the orange cat. "Besides, I am not the one going around throwing insults because they don't live in my garden."
  25. Jinx lashed her tail and raised her chin above the the orange cat to give herself an air of superiority. "Like I'd want to go near you anyway," she remarked. "Honestly, are bad manners a necessity to live here?"
