  1. Oliver took the phone and wallet. He frowned at all the secrecy, but if that was what it took, he'd have to cope. "So what do I do if I have to call someone else?" he pointed out, looking over the IDs.
  2. "But what if we are the first ones?" Oliver pointed out. "What if we all got this letter to meet up at the same time? It explains why no one else knows what to expect." He shrugged. "Maybe they want to deal with us privately, so the army doesn't get involved?"
  3. Jade nodded slowly. "Well, that's what I always thought she was doing. Perhaps she truly was. All of this just feels like she was preparing me for this one fight, but... I do feel stronger thanks to her." She looked at Shining Armour, her eyes like daggers. "If she is truly gone, then I will not let it be in vain. I will defeat Rokata." We will defeat Rokata, yes? Yes, we will defeat him. But this is not personal for you. Just because we've only just met doesn't mean I don't care about your struggles. We vowed to work together in the upcoming fight, and that is what we will do to win.
  4. Oliver noticed the strange name, but Jenna was already gone before he could question her about it, so he just sat back and waited for her. When she came back, he nodded and pulled th car out from the post office. "Alright, I'll find an alley or something."
  5. Oliver frowned at that idea. "That just makes it sound like a trap, since it means they know what we are. They must be watching us." He looked around again. "It definitely feels like it could be a trap."
  6. Oliver felt a wave of relief upon seeing the post office. He pulled into the closest parking space to the building and cut the engine. He sat back and looked at Jenna. "Alright, here we are," he said. "What next?"
  7. "I guess that makes sense," Oliver agreed, biting his lip. "But I still don't like it. All the secrecy and stuff, it just feels really suspicious." He turned around, in case someone was behind them, then looked ahead again.
  8. Jade hung her head and closed her eyes. She was mostly convinced that Rokata had simply spread a rumour to get into her head, but part of her actually believed that he had really done the deed. "So did I." She looked back up at Shining Armour. "Rokata used to be her own student, before he was blinded by his own ambition. That ambition led to impatience, and then to rash, unforgivable deeds." She looked out to the horizon. "I feel like... like this is what she was preparing me for. She was training me all this time for this one fight."
  9. Oliver nodded and kept following Jenna's directions. He made turn after turn after turn as she instructed. He was almost surprised that she knew where to go, but that was probably because this source of hers was quite helpful.
  10. Oliver nodded, looking back at Jenna. He trusted her of course; he was just nervous about all this. "I just hope it's not someone trying to get us or something," he admitted. "I don't want you getting hurt."
  11. Jade watched as Shining Armour exited to the balcony. It was true, she had learned a lot about Rokata from Tricis, and while it was important that information was shared about his team, she wanted to know what her team's benefactor had to say. She followed him outside and looked him in the eyes. "You wish to speak to me?"
  12. "Yeah, it probably is," Oliver muttered. "I just don't really like it. The army being involved with that message usually means something dangerous. Why else would they need the army other than something really dangerous?"
  13. Oliver nodded and kept an eye out for a school. "They'll be around here somewhere for sure." He eventually came to a school and took a left past it. "I think that was the place, I'm not really sure."
  14. "Yeah, that can't be a coincidence," Oliver agreed, still keeping his guard up as he walked. "We get that weird message, then the army shows up and the streets are all empty? It's gotta be connected somehow."
  15. Oliver looked as Jenna fiddled with a piece of paper. He saw writing on it, but couldn't look long enough to make anything out. He nodded and took the next right as instructed. "Directions?" he guessed.
  16. Rose wasn't the only one who was quiet. Jade kept fixing her gaze on either the wall in front of her, or the door next to it. Her front hoof dragged impatiently on the bed, like a bull preparing to charge. Your pulse has quickened. I want this meeting to end soon. I need to see if-- Hr ears pricked up as she heard Dynamo speak. Hope twinkled in her eyes. Was she right all along? Was this supposed murder just some sick mind game? Nevertheless, she knew she had two goals. Check on Tricis, then stop Rokata.
  17. "Well, yeah that makes sense," Oliver agreed. "But still, you'd think the army would clear away if everything's alright." He looked around, his senses sharpened for anything that could want to attack them.
  18. Oliver smiled and kept driving. He had the feeling Jenna was having some trouble with how to react, so he thought to leave her alone for a while. He drove closer to the city and hoped their destination wasn't too much trouble to find.
  19. "Well, yeah I guess so," Oliver agreed, smiling a little at Jenna. "But if everything's okay, why is it still so quiet?" He didn't like the idea of not knowing what happened either, it was almost scary.
  20. Oliver smiled at Jenna for a moment, and gently stroked her hair affectionately. "Yeah, I'll be here for you if you need me, no matter what." He knew that he'd need her a lot more than she'd need him, but it was good to be helpful.
  21. Jade froze. Her heart skipped a beat. She could barely register what she'd just heard, let alone believe it. He actually did it? Just like that? She shook her head. No, this had to be some sick game. Rokata was trying to get into her head, make her lose focus. But, then again, what if he really did do it? He does seem the type. She looked up at Quill Weave, eyes wide with shock. How could she be so excited about this? She tried to pay attention, but she kept glancing toward the door, her thoughts being tugged in different directions. You want to see for yourself? I need to be certain. We should probably stay and listen first. If your teacher is still alive, she can wait another few minutes. Jade sighed and pulled her attention back to the meeting.
  22. Jade raised an eyebrow as Copper addressed her, and she looked at him. The others still hadn't arrived, so there was time. "And that would be?"
  23. "Yeah," Oliver agreed, "but you'll find out. You're wiser to your emotions and such than you seem to think." He looked ahead at the city. "The belief will come to you on its own, and pretty soon too."
  24. Oliver frowned. The military walking around and people staying indoors didn't bode well. Especially if he didn't know why it was happening. "I haven't even seen anything happen yet," he muttered, looking around.
  25. Jade bit her lip. None of this made any sense; Onyx's kin was slain by Rokata, yet he chooses to fight by his side? What was going on? She looked at the door as Dynamo stepped in. "Do you know where the others are?"
