  1. Yeah, as a full thing the second is my favorite as well. I quite like how the jacket came out on the colored version of the first one. And I like the sketched version of the third one. Haha. The third one was mostly a pain because there were so many parallel lines, that arn't drawn in parallel... And by the time I got to the face my hand hated me XD
  2. Been needing to practice on particular things for a while. Clothing study has been up on the list for a while, now I have the time so I figure now is an ok time. It ended up being a bit of a multi-purpose study, but the focus was clothing. Star was a bit of a bonus that kept me interested. Thoughts? Favorites? So on? Any suggestions for the next study?
  3. Finally done with everything school for this semester. Yay.

Statistically, 9 out of 10 hurt feelings can be repaired with apologies.

Forgive my statistics for generating negative feelings.

Unfortunately, every class I have is a full year, and with my failing in 9th grade, I have to retake all of those classes again... in 11th grade, along with my 11th grade classes. That means two history classes, two English classes, and two math classes. I hate it.

Statistically, I am apart of that statistic and your apology has been accepted!

      Yay friendship :D

  4. Havn't slept in 30 hours, then my flash drive failed during final presentations at school. Recovered a bunch later but havn't checked the damage yet. Roller coaster day and it's only noon'ish..

  5. Haha, thanks. I just like trying all kinds of new things. Just embracing and making the most of my ability to get distracted I guess XD
  6. Still testing my new machine Got pressure right to make good cuts now, was cutting shallow before which made it harder to weed. Was also testing how detailed I could be with this blade, doesn't seem like it's as much as I'd like. I may try cutting slower and seeing if that helps, but I doubt it, I think the machine is just a bit to jerky to get the small cuts right. Anyway, ones on the left are just silhouettes, right ones have a few extra details cut. But not of them turned out as clearly as they should be. They size at around ~2-2.5 inches tall. Pinkie ran slightly off the test page.
  7. Thanks, I vinyl minimal art myself whenvinyl I can vinyl it. Vinyl. I'd vinyl a Vinyl vinyl application. Vinyl.
  8. My vinyl cutter came in today, so I figured what would make a better test cut then Vinyl? So I cut out Vinyl with my vinyl cutting vinyl cutter. Now I can apply vinyl Vinyl's on my vinyls so I can scratch my vinyls in as stylish a way as Vinyl! ...did I mention vinyl?
  9. Thanks, It was fun to get around to doing some pony art again and play around with techniques just for fun.
  10. Been busy and stressed with school stuff recently, so wanted to do something for my entertainment today, something I havn't be able to do art-wise in like a month. Was a bit lazy on the linework cause I didn't wanna spend all day on it, but otherwise, I'm pleased. Glad I didn't forget who to pony art.
  11. Been busy recently so I havn't had time to do much but school stuff. But in the little spare time I've had I have been working on making up a method of making vinyl sticker/decals. Previous tests were just patches and spots, so this was the first one to take it 'full scale', so to speak. I'm really pleased with the results, there are bits to improve on and I need to test the durability after they fully cure. But yeah, quite pleased. The base design is via laser printer, the weathering is hand done with acrylic paint and some selective scratching and denting with knives and whatnot. This was my first attempt at weathering effects and I think I did pretty good. Thoughts? Opinions? Etc?
  12. Well, this is by no means what this machine is for. I'm primarily doing this to familiarize myself with using the machine before I put a spindle on it. Just for clarity, the original sketch was done in Photoshop. The whole process was technically digital, just the final result was physical.
  13. Ok, been busy recently so I haven't been able to do much in the way of art. Additionally I've had a new piece of equipment I've been learning to use which you may have seen me talk about here. So yeah, first project with this thing was Steven Universe related, so this time I went pony style and made this. Original sketch Vector version And video of it being made. I wanted this to keep some of it's "hand drawn" sketch properties, which you can see in the vector as I left imperfections you can see from the original sketch. I think that idea transferred pretty well onto the final version. Anyway, thats what I got for today.
  14. Thanks, its a fun way to practice with it for now.
  15. Haha, what an interesting take on it. If I can put together a more stable mount for a pen, then I'll do some more for fun.
  16. My Shapeoko 3 CNC machine came in the other day and I spent many an hour assembling it. Ran their "Hello World" program which basically just writes out their logo and I thought that was neat and all, but ultimately boring cause I didn't make it. So did a quick and simple Peri vector and ran that to test, for science or whatever. It worked, but I set the zero for the Z axis too low and it made the lines a bit crap cause my pen mount was made of rubber bands XD https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyTGeOqsALE This thing isn't really meant for drawing, its a milling machine, cutting woods, plastics, metals, stuff like that. I never planned to get it for drawing stuff out. But because I won't be getting a spindle for it for a few weeks I may see about making a pen mount for the thing and play with making more stuff like this. I have a few ideas on how I might make one with stuff I have around the house. -shrug- We'll see.
  17. Hay, whats up? Anyone with experience in 3D modeling have any program advice for simple to use and free (or at least relatively inexpensive) modeling software? I've poked around in Blender some but it's really way more then what I need it for. Also started messing around in FreeCAD and it might work alright but I havn't played with it much yet. What I need is something that can make simple geometry fairly easily and allows me to be very accurate, like type in where I want points to go within fractions of an inch accurate and can export in STL. I'm pretty sure most of these programs do export STL as it's pretty standard, but thats fairly important for my purposes. What I'd like is something thats as easy to lay down points as using illustrator, just with the included z axis. But that may be optimistic. (That said I think Illustrator has a few CAD plugins out there, but I'm not sure about their functionalities and the ones I have seen are a bit on the pricey side as far as I'm considered.) I'm not looking to animate with this or anything, think more engineering and designing. Mostly if not entirely static models. Any advice form experience?
  18. I'm in a super poor mood. Lost my school USB drive containing all my school work over the past 4 semesters and some personal files. I have no clue where it is other then, 'In town somewhere..."

  19. This is a semi-cleaned up rough I did this morning. Not sure if I'll go back to it and clean it up at a later date, but I sorta doubt I will. Colorless one; Also a lot bigger.
  20. Back in school. Designing it up and whatever. One of the few students who's generally happy to be back.

  21. Oh, that sounds like it'll be fun. I'm taking graphic design classes and just trying to teach myself animation. I'd love a class in it just to learn some of the shortcuts and tricks they use. I've played a tiny bit with animation in the past and there isn't an awful lot, or at least not a well put-together compilation, of that kind of info online. Which seems super weird to me. I know some stuff, but it just seems like there's SOO much I'm missing still.
  22. I was pretty pleased with they bag myself. I did some frame by frame stuff years ago on a program called eztoon, I think some of the experience is paying off now, even though it has been, like, 8 or more years or something that I did that. Like riding a bike... or something.
  23. Ya, your right about the legs, haha. Something else I did.
  24. I just found out a few days that Toon Boom offered student discounts, so I made an investment and now I'm practicing. I'll probably post new practice pony animations here, anything more cleaned up may get it's own post. AJ Lasso 8 frames 24 fps ~3 hours -- Tail looks flashy cause its missing every other frame, mostly do to laziness. AJ has a new frame every 2 frames. The Lasso has a new frame every frame. Random Pony - Bag Kick 24 frames 24fps ~1hr 45min -- A lot of 'missing' frames, no cleanup. In part practicing with how lazy I can be with those in between frames.
  25. When you say the hair and eye color are fixed do you mean 100% those exact colors, or just red and green semi-broadly? Cause when I sampled them I got Christmas. Christmas ruined red/green combos haha. Anyway, I played with some colors and heres what I ended up with. Your two mandatory colors on the left, although I very slightly modified the green to pull it away from that darker Christmas color I had. That bluegreen as a primary color works well as a split complementary with red and yellow secondary colors. The purple would accent the yellow particularly well and the off white as a secondary accent color. Anyway, thats what I worked up. I think I got a pretty balanced mix without getting too crazy. One problem I think you might be having with getting a good set of colors is you use really high saturation across the board so they all sort of overpower each other. Try keeping the really bright stuff to the accenting stuff and be a bit more subtle with the overall. That way the stuff you want to stand out, the hair, eyes, etc, has something to stand out against.
