spoiler I made some fake season 7 titles! Wanna give me a summary on them?
Golden Star replied to FlareGun45's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
"Episode 4 - The Seed of Truth" Babs Seed abruptly cancels a planned visit to see Apple Bloom, and it's soon discovered that it's because she lied about getting her cutie mark, and couldn't face her cousin as still a blank flank. Now it's up to both the CMCs, and the two ponies Babs mentioned at the Apple Family Reunion (both of whom have also received their cutie marks since then) to help Babs finally get hers.- 25 replies

Coco's one of my favourite side characters, a pony so sweet and adorable I even commissioned someone to make me a plush of her. And here she is, I meant to share these months ago but have now only just remembered to do so: And finally, one of her side by side with my Build-a-Bear Rarity:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Va5_rn3vG3A Anyway, the song, it was... different, and for that, I kinda liked it. I'll give it a 7/10. Definitely need some metal after it though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5i7qZxICwgQ

S06:E21 - Every Little Thing She Does
Golden Star replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
Excellent episode! Got a Sorcerer's Apprentice meets The Stepford Wives vibe from it which led to many hilarious moments, as well as some good character development for Starlight and a strong, relatable lesson. It seems to me like she still has severe anxiety and when triggered, magic is her personal safeguard, but she needed to learn it doesn't solve everything. I also like how she gave a sincere apology and not everyone forgave her instantly, so she still had to work to make amends. OK, it's not Sunset Shimmer/Rainbow Rocks quality, but it still worked fine IMO. I don't think the episode's pacing was the most consistent, and I also don't think it's going to convert too many Starlight haters into fans, but as someone who has always liked her since reformation, I really liked this one. On initial viewing, a 9/10 from me. -

spoiler Major news from Polish pony convention
Golden Star posted a topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
A panel at a recent convention in Poland revealed that a pony many believed to be Rainbow Dash's father is actually not her father, and that the Apple parents are confirmed dead. More here: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/09/character-designer-kora-kosicka-rainbow.html- 19 replies

As you say, hoofs crossed, but I suspect we will. We still have the season finale to come yet and she's always had a singing part in those.

Hehe I loved this moment! Classic Twilight just the way we love her! But I couldn't help wondering what happened when she found out the truth.

A Discovery Family press release just revealed the plot for the Season 6 finale. I don't know about any of you, but I'm definitely VERY intrigued and excited for this one. http://www.equestriadaily.com/2016/09/my-little-pony-season-6-to-where-and.html

Nostalgia Critic's take on the show
Golden Star replied to TheAnimatorOfficial's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Interesting take on it, and one of the reason why I do enjoy Doug's work and respect him as a critic. While I still enjoy watching NC each week, I do think the format has gone stale and I don't get nearly as excited for a new episode as I used to. But when he stops putting on the act and shrieking at the top of his voice and just calmly does an editorial like this one, that is where I really think he shines. His passion for film, TV and reviewing is much clearer to see, his topics and observations are interesting and informative, and he usually seems to really know what he's talking about. And although MLP isn't his thing personally, I do have to give him credit for acknowledging and appreciating it objectively, rather than being immediately turned off by early generations or the brony fandom. That's something I don't see very often. -
spoiler Holy crap Dungeons and Discord
Golden Star replied to TheAnimatorOfficial's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Definitely excited about this one. Discord eps are usually pretty fun (WAD is the sole exception for me) and I've really liked Confalone's work on the show thus far. Also... "ISN'T THIS INCREDIBLE? It's gonna be some kind of a record!" I can't be the only one who saw this and immediately thought of Ace Ventura, right? -
S06:E16 - The Times They Are A Changeling
Golden Star replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
While I will also admit that I thought the ending was rushed, I do also have to jump to its defence. Everyone keeps saying that all it took was Spike singing a song for everyone to change their minds, when the truth is, it wasn't. Even after Spike had finished, everyone was still unconvinced and frowning and looking down upon him and Thorax, apart from Twilight and Starlight. Twilight is the more notable one here as she is practically Spike's mother, she knows him better than anyone and therefore could tell that everything he was singing was completely sincere and heartfelt. It's only after Twilight declares how proud she is of Spike, and accepts Thorax as a trustworthy companion, that everypony else is finally swayed. It still happens rather suddenly, but at this point I just assumed they all thought, "Well, Twilight knows Spike better than any of us, and she is the Princess of Friendship, who would we be to argue against her judgment and authority?" Again, it is a bit rushed and I can understand why some would take issue with that, but I didn't have a problem with it myself. -
S06:E16 - The Times They Are A Changeling
Golden Star replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
Now THIS is more like it! The last couple of episodes were less than stellar but I just loved this one. Thorax was likeable, the story progression was as expected but moved along without contrivances, everypony was in character, the message was wonderful, and will surely resonate with quite a few, and Spike's song was beautiful (I will even admit I actually teared up a little). In fact, Spike himself was great throughout - I think he is the star of Season 6 as he's just been great with every appearance. Already one of my favourites of the season so far. -
Anyone else been watching this show? I'm just over halfway through and it's fantastic! One of the best new shows I've seen in quite some time, and well worth getting a Netflix subscription for (if you don't have one already).

I'm from the UK, and I watch new episodes via Dailymotion. Yes I know it's not the legal way, but when our Netflix only goes up to Season 4, and episodes not only take an age to get to UK TV and are marred by PAL speedup (which I despise with a passion) and occasional edits, what other option is there? Even our DVD releases have only gone as far as the first few episodes of Season 4, and I was greatly annoyed that after Clear Vision went into administration, Primal Screen stuck only to DVD releases, meaning that we got the first Equestria Girls on Blu-ray but not the sequels. Fortunately it's not an issue for me as I own a multi-region Blu-ray player so I just import the Blu-rays from the US, but it's still a pain that we don't get them over here.

What's With All The Season 6 Hate?
Golden Star replied to OmegaBeamOfficial's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I'm also enjoying this season even if it isn't as great as some previous ones. I think the biggest issue here for me is the lack of Starlight, especially after last season, and I think the reason why this has happened is simply because of all the criticism that "The Cutie Re-Mark" received. Much like how many hated the idea of Twilight becoming a princess at the end of Season 3 so they drastically scaled the focus on that back in Season 4, it seems like the writers have been hesitant to do much with Starlight because many disliked the idea of her being redeemed and becoming a mane character. I like how the staff do seem to listen to the fans' responses and will always try and do something in a future season to make amends for earlier mistakes. Sometimes it works, like with Spike, as thus far, his episodes and characterisation this season are easily some of, if not, the best they've ever been, and other times, like with Starlight, it doesn't. I guess I can appreciate them wanting to gradually ease Starlight into the group rather than rushing things, and I actually do like how they've been using her this season, but it is far too minimal and it's happening far too slowly. If/when we get to Season 7, they really should be having her be much more involved. -
The former. Much as I love the look and sound of Guardians of Harmony, I think it might be better suited to a comic series. From what I hear as I haven't read them myself, the IDW comics have often been considerably darker than the show, so adding a more action-oriented spin-off to that series would probably work much better following what we've already had. I'm not against the idea of a GoH show should one ever materialise, but as a transition from FiM or a companion piece, the potential change in tone and direction might be a bit too jarring. An EqG show would work much better, and it's something I am hoping for as I actually think at this point, it needs its own series. There's a well-established universe and group of characters that deserve more attention and development, and there's only so much of that you can deliver with one 75 minute movie per year.

6/10, not bad but definitely not one of Maiden's best.

True. The Apples do have a record player though so maybe at some point during the episode, they could argue over which records to defend themselves with. -
7/10. Not their best, but Iron Maiden are always good.

A second clip of the episode has now been released on TV Insider. I've enjoyed both these clips so I'm really looking forward to this episode. http://www.tvinsider.com/article/95076/watch-my-little-pony-meet-28-days-later-yes-you-read-that-correctly-video/ -
S06:E14 - The Cart Before The Ponies
Golden Star replied to Ashen Pathfinder's topic in Season 6 Discussion
To paraphrase the tagline of "Alien vs. Predator"... whoever wins, this episode loses. I always watch the episodes twice before casting a full opinion, but on the first viewing I wasn't too keen on this one. Maybe I'll like it better on a rewatch, but right now I'm thinking I might have more fun writing a Wacky Races parody that I have planned for my review than watching the episode again. -
