  1. Basically, the story is about Bon Bon going back into her work in the agency she worked in some time ago. Instead of hunting monsters though, they assume a more "passive" vigilante role, in the same style as Person of Interest of Minority Report. They're using reverse-engineered cutie maps scattered across Equestria to analyze situations and see possibility of someone commiting a crime. The working title should be New Harmony, but I'm kind of afraid some people just skip over it and consider it yet another alternate elements fic. For now, I'm just wondering what you guys thought of the idea, and if you would read this fic.
  2. I'd say they are like dog species. They're actual different races, but of the same species. Saddle Arabian horses/ponies, actual horses and the 3 types of ponies may be subspecies of an equine species.
  3. Yeah I kinda did it quickly at home, putting 30 5cm3 blocks in a circle. Actually, with the correct formulas, it would give me... a whopping 487 cm3. But I agree, 1cm thick is way too thick, so I did the same equation with 0.5cm for a more realistic ring, which gave me approximately 240cm3. Still an extremely heavy wedding ring, topping over 4 kilos for a 22 karat gold ring. With my calculations a hoof ring could go well over 3 kilograms depending on the gold's purity.
  4. The little finger would approximately be around 1cm thick. Sorry, but there's no way this thing is anywhere close to the thing I'm imagining. If it weighs 325 grams and it's really 95% gold, so 23-ish karats, it would be at around 18cm3 volume. My hoof ring is at 150cm3 volume, which is 8.3 times more volume. Source
  5. Well, even the less "pure" gold is still made of 75% of gold, so the minimum density would be 16.5g/cm3 for that 18 karat gold, which would still give us 2475 grams. Still heavy enough. And you have to remember, if we take that the animals in MLP are of similar size to the ones we have here, those ponies are still pretty small, and after the breezies, the ponies are one of the smallest living species in Equestria.
  6. Gold's density is 19.3g/cm3, which is pretty heavy. Considering ponies are about half as tall as humans, a hoof ring would easily make for at least... 150 cm3 of gold giving us 2895 or approximately 3000g which is 3 kilograms. That is if the ring if 5cm high, 1cm thick and the circumference for it is of approximately 30 cm. So yeah, a few kilograms. Pretty heavy for a horse that size. Why didn't I think of this before? So brilliant!
  7. Well such a big gold ring would weigh at least a few kilograms
  8. pony racism much. Well, this makes for a darker Equestria...
  9. Ah, one of the many fan fails in creating parental links. You see, hair style is not a hereditary characteristic. Mane color, coat color, even personality and mental disorders are to a certain point, but anypony can style their mane however they like. Are Rainbow Dash and Daring Do sisters? Are Bon Bon and those two ponies triplets? Is my OC parent with anypony with spiked mane? Probably not.
  10. We've seen it in A Canterlot Wedding Part II. During the wedding, unicorns put on wedding rings on their horns. But how do all the other species with hooves do? Having a hoof sized giant gold ring would be really akward and bulky considering gold's weight, so what are your theories for this?
  11. The oldest would be Sparity. Also, imo, one of the worst. Inter-species, maybe even zoophilia at a certain level + pedophilia.
  12. They were, but a finely presented character is not necessarily a good one. I can spend fifty lines describing a Mary Sue alicOC, but it will still be crap. I can spend two phrases describing an extremely well developed character yet this will (probably) not make him worse. Plus, they really overdid the exposition with Lyra and Bon Bon.
  13. Every bloody headcanon and perception of the MLP fandom has been completely annihilated in one episode. Good thing my fanfic is in an alternate timeline... But I don't know, it just feels like this episode could have been done better... I didn't even watch it completely, just skipped parts and watched a few minutes. It was just so bland... Overly done exposition as subtle as an anvil, boring scenes, multiple clichés in characters and personality derailment for no reason. I think they took a novice fanfic writer and let him write SoL's plot. Even though it's just a 20 minutes episode, they could have brought the characters up a little more than just one personality point. Whooves is just quirky, Ditzy is just clumsy, Octavia is just classy, &c. &c. &c. It's not necessarily bad, just a little down from what they used to do in the previous seasons. But I guess I'm getting my hopes up a little too high and forgetting that this is basically a huge ad for Hasbro's toys. Also, no David Tennant as guest, so already 5/10 max for the episode.
  14. What tells you so? We can see here that, even if it's very thin, the ponies do have a layer of fur. May be thicker depending on the pony. Hair is an expression applied to human fur, and ponies have coats and manes instead of skin hair and hair.
  15. @@gaazkam, The first time I listened I hard "[...] Yeah My Little Ponies [...]", even though I'm very fluent in english. Happens to all of us.
  16. @@Happyandrenewed999, When I saw this, and realized that Octavia had a stereotypical British accent instead of a better more original East-European accent. I just began crying so hard.
  17. Well pegasus are portrayed as horses with bird wings in mythology, so yes, they do. They probably have hollow bones to fly better and with less effort.
  18. @@Alto, Well that makes Equestria even weirder. 4 day weeks, 5 week months,100 lunar cycles lasting maybe less than a year... That or Luna is always too drunk to correct the moon's shape.
  19. A moon is a lunar cycle, roughly 27 days. Unless the lunar cycle is approximately 3.65 days in Equestria, I doubt 100 moons would be only a year. Nothing implies the family had a reunion. We just had a bunch of Apples, it's all.
  20. That's not what I think when the ponies can't even use combined elements tactics to get the job done quick and all magically finish it in a few hours when the lavender pony comes to help.
  21. I've never seen a student at age 16 master time travel spells, and even though she is undeniably one of the most promising prodigies I have ever seen, she just entered puberty at approximately the same time, if not a bit younger than her friends. The average age for puberty for girls is around 12-13, with the lowest ones at 10 and some at 14-15. The mane 6 being from age 10 to 15 fits perfectly with their capabilities at the time, and the ones they have now. We see that Twilight is perfectly able to coordinate the 3 elements of the snow clearing team of Ponyville consisting of at least one or two hundred ponies, which seems far stretched for a 15-16 years old, prodigy or not. If she was that young, we're now at EQG level of MarySueness.
