  1. こんにちは、皆さん!^-^ The Japanese word for the day is...*drum roll* 大好物、(だいこうぶつ)、Daikoubutsu いみ(meaning):(one's) favorite food れいぶん(example sentence):何があなたの大好物ですか?nani ga anata no daikoubutsu desu ka? ほんやく(translation): What's your favorite food? This is a fun word, haha. ^-^ Food can be a great conversation starter; it opens up the door to sharing stories, memories, and culture with one another. This is why I think it's an important word to know; and maybe even the example sentence too. Any and all questions are welcomed in the comments section or through PM! じゃあ、また明日ね!^-^
  2. Yes -- very! The Japanese tend to be quite hospitable people. Making friends there, I hear, isn't that hard too. And it becomes even easier if you know the language. ^-^
  3. No, I'm afraid I don't. I didn't even know about it until now, haha. A Google or Youtube search will do wonders, though. ^-^
  4. Thank you, Bojo-さん ^^ In my experience, no -- Japanese isn't incredibly hard to learn. And I believe that Japanese isn't that hard of a language to learn in general. There is this stigma attached to it that repels people because they've been told how supposedly complicated it is. It's actually not; it's just different. It's very structured and logical. Once you learn the patterns of the language, it becomes a lot easier. And that goes for any language. That isn't to say that it's easy either -- as you know, learning any language will have some level of difficultly and requires time and effort. But it's definitely not as hard as people think it is. ^-^
  5. ♪ Domo Arigato Mr. Roboto -- Domo, Domo...domo domo! ♪ こんにちは、皆さん!^-^ The Japanese word for the day is... *drum roll* 社交的(な)、(しゃこうてき)、Shakouteki (na) いみ(meaning ):Sociable, friendly (Noun, Na-adjective) れいぶん(example sentence):私の先生はとても社交的な人です。Watashi no sensei wa totemo shakouteki na hito desu. ほんやく(translate): My teacher is a very sociable person. Sorry for posting this so late, it's been a long day, but I got it up! This word is a little bit different, because it's both a noun and something called a Na-adjective. When modifying a noun with a Na-adjective -- like in the example sentence above -- な(na) is placed in between the noun and the adjective. When it's not modifying a noun, な is not used. For example: 彼は社交的です(kare wa shakouteki), "He is sociable." ^-^ Any and all questions about the language are welcomed in the comments section or through PM! じゃあ、また明日ね!

Ahh, a night class. :) Well at least then you avoid the usual rush of regular school/work hours. ^^ I wouldn't mind that.

  7. こんにちは、皆さん!^-^ The Japanese word of the day is... *drum roll* 同情、(どうじょう)、Doujou いみ(meaning):Compassion, sympathy, sympathize, to feel for (Noun and Verb) れいぶん(example sentence):私はあなたの事態を同情します。 Watashi ha anata no jitai wo doujyou shimasu. ほんやく(translation):I feel for your situation. In our society, it's easy to get caught up in the fast pace of our world and lose our sensitivity to one another. But compassion is one of the most beautiful and selfless emotions we possess. It transcends differing cultures, brings us together, and helps to mend each others wounds. I realized that I didn't know the word for it in Japanese; which is why I'm sharing it with you. ^-^ Any and all questions about the language are welcomed in the comments section or through PM! じゃあ、また明日ね!^-^
  8. あかめ (akame) is a noun and it means red or blood shot eyes. The kanji for this is interesting. 赤 (aka) means red; and 目(me) means eye. Literally, it means red eye. くろめ (kurome) is also a noun and based on the first word, you can probably guess as to what it means. 黒 (kuro) means black and 目 (me) means eye. The meaning is the pupil or dark iris of the eye. Hope this helped! ^-^
  9. She has to be hundreds of years old; her specific age is unknown. There are only to explanations I can see for the anomaly that's already been mentioned; It could be a continuity error or possible pony life expectancy is simply much longer. In short...the world may never know.

  11. こんにちは、皆さん!^-^ The Japanese word for the day...*drum roll* 勇気、(ゆうき)、Yuuki いみ(meaning):Courage, bravery, valor, nerve, and boldness れいぶん(example sentence):私はあなたの勇気をちょっと嫉妬します。Watashi wa anata no yuuki wo chotto shitto shimasu. (I'm not cursing, lol) ほんやく(translation):I am a little envious of your courage. Living this life to our fullest requires some degree of courage. Whether it's stepping out and making new friends; learning a language; or facing difficult circumstances head on. To be courageous is trait that I and many of you aspire and work towards one step at a time. It's just a matter of bringing out what is already inside...like the cowardly lion. #corny_but_true, lol. ^-^ Sorry for posting this so late. ごめんなさい!^~^ I'm getting acclimated to a new schedule with school. Once everything gets settled, I should settle into a normal posting schedule. Any and all questions are welcomed in the comments section or through PM! じゃあ、また明日ね!^-^
  12. That feeling when the realization of four months of school starts to sink in...oh boy, lol. xD

  13. Thanks, SM-さん -- I'm glad you're enjoying them! ^-^ When I did a quick search of the name かむい (kamui), eight different spellings of the same name came up. It seems to be a mostly female name, but it also can be a surname. There was one I picked out of the group; 花夢衣. The meaning of each Kanji respectively is flower, dream, garment...your guess as to what the meaning is as good as mine, lol. As a word, カムイ is spelled in katakana -- as you can see. And it means god, diety, spirit, or divinity. For your Japanese word searching pleasure, haha, If you wish to look up words you don't know, I suggest jisho.com. You can use Romaji to search, which helps a lot if you don't yet know hiragana. I hope this helped. ^-^

I personally think J-pop is better. But I've never really listened to K-pop; so I can't say for sure, haha. I'm kinda biased towards Japanese things. xD

  15. I'm definitely a realist; in the sense that I fit the positive traits. Can't say I fit other traits. Some would even erroneously assume that the way I see the world is surreal. But when I look at the world around me, I just prefer to wears glasses over shades.
  16. I have a mix of nervousness, excitement, and curiosity about beginning new classes for this college semester. I guess I'm curnerexious, lol. And yes, curnerexious is a word...
  17. Okay, this had me cracking up! Oh my gosh -- that picture, lol. xD
