In the spirit of Friendship Is Magic, I was wondering if anyone here has some stories about friendship that they're fond of, and if they would share it. For example, I have one that I'm very fond of telling. It's about how I met one of my best mates, the strangest but nicest friend I've ever had: He came to the same school as me in grade 11, one day. He seemed a bit quiet at first, and then we got on really well, and I found out that he had a weird but awesome sense of humour. He eventually told me that he got expelled from this other school, which is why he came to mine. I won't go into detail about how he got expelled, but by Celestia's light, it is an expelled-from-school story that I could almost guarantee would put any you have heard to shame. It was a prank that he and his friend did that spiralled out of control, and RUINED the honeymoon of a couple from overseas, to the point where they had to spend a week in quarantine before they could go home. Yeah, that bad. They got in trouble with the police, and my mate got expelled. He said that he's never been so ashamed in his life. He's not a bad guy, he's super cool, but yeah that was his biggest mistake ever. So he's crashing at my place for the night one time, and he said "but dude, if I had the opportunity to go back and stop myself from doing it, I wouldn't take it. I would let myself do it." So I said "…I dunno, it was pretty bad, dude." "No dude, honestly I would let myself do it. For one simple reason. And do you what that reason is?" "…'Cause that's how you met me?" "'Cause that's how I met you."

Naming Your Children After MLP Characters?

Has MLP helped you become a better person?
Arpeggio Sweep replied to Lithophila's topic in Sugarcube Corner
It has for me a little. It reminds me of ways to be a good friend through simple lessons that I otherwise could possibly forget in the fog of complicated relationships and cynicism. Indirectly, it's given me thicker skin. I thought being a metalhead had a lot of hurtful criticism, inside and outside. But being a brony is the first thing I've had to really stand up and defend on my own, where even my friends and parents questioned it. -
Have you ever been to a pony convention?

am I the only person that just.. watches.. the show?
Arpeggio Sweep replied to Chronamut's topic in Sugarcube Corner
A couple of years ago I remember talking to a friend of a friend, and mentioned that I watch MLP. He said that he's seen seasons 1 and 2, but doesn't want to consider himself a Brony because he thought "that is one intense fandom." So there are people out there who 'just watch the show' in my experience, but I'm guessing many who just watch the show aren't as active on forums, maybe. Haven't talked to that guy since, though. You never know, he could be rolling in merch by now. Either way, it's fine.- 70 replies

Why do a lot of bronies seem to dislike the earlier generations?
Arpeggio Sweep replied to MrJK's topic in Sugarcube Corner
I'll just state that I haven't really seen any other generation of MLP, other than that Bronies React to G3 video and various other little snips from different generations. So, I couldn't give a conclusive opinion. I can tell I would more than likely not like them, and I'll poke fun at them for the sake of fun and games, but I won't judge anyone who does like previous generations. In fact I'd think it's cool, in a 'respect the classics' kind of way. I'm not implying that Newborn Cuties was exactly a classic, but you know what I mean. -
It's so weird how this episode aired now, because it solidifies something I reminded myself of recently. That you don't have to have the enormous power and influence of something like McDonalds to make a nice difference to the world. An important message to remind yourself nowadays, where the whole world seems to constantly make you feel that your small and unimportant.

Do you think we'll see a 200th episode?

http://www.fimfiction.net/story/258209/once-monsters SunDagio. I am NOT into fanfic in general, at least not until recently. I am much less into shipping, but dammit this fic had me! Gripping and very well written. It's the third in a VERY decent series by SkycatcherEQ about Sunset Shimmer and the Sirens after Rainbow Rocks. The only reason I started reading it is because I am a massive fan of Rainbow Rocks and was fascinated by the concept of the Sirens adapting to a new life, and this is a very nice take on it. There is a part where I was like "…OH NO, where is this going?" But it didn't stretch too far

Well, there are many places you could put it where you can either hide or show it. You could have it on your back, shoulders or upper arms which are easy to cover with clothes, depending on what you usually wear, of course. Somewhere on your torso would be even easier to cover, though keep in mind the ribs are one of the more painful parts to get inked, generally. You could even put it on your calves or ankles. I found these online:

There's a fair point. I'd NEVER get one unless I was 100% sure I'd never regret it. Though there are plenty of happy specimens out there who get really stupid tattoos on a regular basis for a laugh and that's just how they roll, I'm definitely not one of those guys myself. A good piece of advice I once heard is "would you like the design as a tattoo or a T-shirt? A T-shirt you can take off at the end of the day and put it back in your wardrobe until you feel like wearing it again. A tattoo: you are stuck with it FOREVER." Subtle tattoos like Cutie Marks and/or tattoos in hidden places like the inner arms would be cool if you don't want absolutely everyone to see it. Make no mistake though, a tattoo is a constant representation of yourself, whether it is hidden or not.

I was thinking of getting some. I did have this one idea that I told a few brony friends who seemed to think it was nice: The statue from Equestria Girls on my back in a year of the horse theme. Bit of a story to the idea, if I may. 1) The first meetup I went to was Equestria Girls at the cinema, had a really good time. 2) I freaking love Equestria Girls 3) When I went to Ponycon AU, the first convention I ever went to in 2014, it was during Chinese New Year, year of the horse! I had an absolute blast of a time, made literally dozens of new friends, met Andrea Libman and Peter New. A group I was in passed by a big statue of a horse in the entrance of this casino. It was big and red, with big flowers hanging from the ceiling around it. The tattoo would basically remind me that I only have a set amount of time on this Earth, and to make it awesome. Make every year the year of the horse. Make it special, memorable and worth it. Remember the good times and make more. Just like Twilight had only a bit of time before the portal closed, so she had to make the most of the time she had at Canterlot High (I know she can now go through the portal whenever she wants to now, but come on, you know what I mean!)

Okay, bed time for me. Stay metal and brony, Gentlecolts! /)

What your thoughts on ponies licking each other on the face?
Arpeggio Sweep replied to Singe's topic in Sugarcube Corner
That would be pretty cute! By the looks of things it would cause an explosion of likes and dislikes and drama, but to be honest it wouldn't be as big a deal as people think. I mean take something like Feeling Pinkie Keen or some other early innocent season 1 episode, imagine if THAT aired today. People would freak a bit. -
Yeah, that one is super epic! I actually met that guy, L-Train In February, he's cool. He played a live set at the convention I went to, with backing drums and stuff, because it would have been difficult finding other bronies at that level of skill. Excellent player, very talented. I'd actually love to see more pony metalcore or deathcore. I like what Metal Core Pony does, I love Canapplejack's stuff but almost all of the stuff he made was taken down when he lost interest in MLP.

Non MLP songs that remind you of Ponies.

I don't boast about it, but pretty much everyone I know, except for guys at my workplace. My friends aren't against it but they used to get annoyed from time to time, so I tend not to talk about it unless anyone asks. My family is pretty good with it, although they were VERY creeped out at first. I'm pretty open about it, despite being a pretty shy dude. I wouldn't let anyone at work know, though. I know most of them would be like "eh, okay." But metal fabrication is populated by a lot of real Neanderthals.
