general What are You Afraid of?
Attack of the Pwns replied to Dark Bun's topic in General Discussion
I'm sure a lot of people feel the same way, but I fear being maimed. Once you end up losing a limb or being paralyzed, you can't really go back to a normal life. In the same vain but to a lesser extent, I'm afraid of permanent illnesses and medical conditions, like Diabetes or an STD. -
What will you do when FiM is over?
Attack of the Pwns replied to L1ghtn1ng_Flash's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Well, I'll still be a brony, I'll still revisit the show, just probably won't be as active. I'm a huge car enthusiast, have been all my life, and so if my interest in pony ever were to wane, that's what I'd fall back on. But the only way I'll stop hanging out with my buddies on EQTV on Fridays is if the Poniverse itself shuts down. -
general What's the strangest thing you've ever found in a public restroom?
Attack of the Pwns replied to Toothpaste's topic in General Discussion
Oh boy, you want to find some interesting stuff in the bathroom that, surprisingly, generally isn't nasty, just attend a large car show. So, last year I was at a major import/tuning show that had happened to have a burnout contest earlier in the day (in other words, a tire smoke contest). So, I go into the bathroom about an hour after the contest is over, and I kid you not, one of the stalls is filled halfway to the ceiling with shredded tires. But the best part was that four of them were still on their relatively blemishless aftermarket XXR rims. And so, my buddy and I got a set of $1500 rims for free, hence why the rims on his Civic are worth more than the car is At another show last year, this one a street rod event, I found a Hoverround abandoned in a non-handicapped stall. I went back in and checked right before they locked up the bathrooms-and yep, it was just left there. -
Here's my issue with it- I'm fine with the idea of an all-female cast, but get ladies that are ACTUALLY FUNNY, not actresses who's only skills are that they are female and can kinda-sorta act. Honestly, female cast or not, this movie really shouldn't have been made. I mean, Ghostbusters has been an inactive franchise (movie-wise) for decades, and unlike Star Wars no one was asking for this one. Murray, Aykroyd, Ramis, and Hudson had just the right chemistry as a group of actors to do this film, and IMO the only way it could have worked out better would have been in Belushi would have lived long enough to be in the film. I don't think any sort of remake, male or female cast, will ever live up to the original. They should have just left it well enough alone.

If My Little Pony were to end...
Attack of the Pwns replied to Jon the VGNerd's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Honestly, this fandom has made it up there with the likes of Star Trek, Dr. Who, Star Wars, etc. It's never going to fully die (at least not in our life times) because we'll still pay for it. It may go through gaps and breaks and hiatus ex, there may be new forms of it and different "generations", but the basic concept will still be there. Heck, they revived it from the dead three times before the burgeoning Brony segment of viewers/customers even existed. So, G4 may give way to G5 and G5 to G5.5 or G6, but regardless the basic premise will still exist. Also, as others have said, fanworks. Oh, and by the way, the conventions won't stop until they stop making money. Considering there's still a "Custom Van National Convention" (a trend that's been largely dead for 35 years) I would imagine we've got at least another 20 years of at least one surviving Pony convention. -
spoiler Fears Confirmed- New Pony Problem
Attack of the Pwns replied to BalanceBrony's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
These types of convos happen ever time there's a new season (or a finale, for that matter)- in even the worst case scenario, I don't see Flurry Heart being in any more than 4 or 5 episodes this season, and I don't think she'll be as OP by the time we get around to the 2017 movie and/or Season 7 (if the latter happens). Fear mongering gets us nowhere, the fandom's not dying. This is the exact same scenario as A Canterlot Wedding, at its worst chock it up to Hasbro trying to sell knick-knacks to little girls, if you can find anything positive credit it to the writers, and move on. -

general Interests or hobbies?
Attack of the Pwns replied to AtomicStone's topic in General Discussion
I am a HUGE car guy. Like, I spend a TON of time at car events, or planning for car events, or talking on the internet about car-related stuff, etc. I'll do lots of other things, but cars and ponies are my real passions right now, and are the biggest part of my daily routine outside school/work. That being said, anytime there's a social event taking place on my college campus I'll make an effort to show up, even if only for a short while. Oh, and some of my EQTV buddies have been introducing me to some anime. I will admit, I really enjoyed Cowboy Bebop. -
Do You Buy MLP Episodes Or Watch Them For Free?
Attack of the Pwns replied to Astro Mambo's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Freebies. I stream em'.i don't have the $$$ for DVDs, and don't have a credit card to buy them with, anyways. -
Will Starlight live with Twilight?
Attack of the Pwns replied to ggg-2's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
The vibe I'm getting from the promos right now is that she is indeed living in the castle. However, I don't think that means she'll be in every episode that Twilight is in, and I don't necessarily think that her living the castle is a permanent arrangement. I could see her having her own crib by the time the movie/and or season 7 (if that happens) comes out, at least. -
general Do you have a social life
Attack of the Pwns replied to joshuachasseur's topic in General Discussion
Sort of. I'm huge in the car scene around here, and I'm at a car meet every weekend, often two or three per week in the summer. But outside that hobby, no, I pretty much just go to school, work, and home. Not that I'm not friendly, but I generally annoy people who don't share my interests, and vice versa. -
technology No Audio jack in the iPhone 7.
Attack of the Pwns replied to Chara's topic in Media Discussion
I agree that we should be pushing the manufacturers of headphones to advance their technologies, but it shouldn't be this sudden. Regardless of how many insane fanatics they have on their side no matter what they try to pull, if Apple goes through with this they WILL lose customers, not because people don't like Apple, but because they just legitimately can't afford it. Apple should be introducing the model with an AUX jack, and we as consumers should be driving the headphone companies to develop better products. Unfortunately, Apple will probably do this and get away with it. Hopefully it drives down the price of wireless headphones. I just bought an iPhone 6S and really like it, but it was WAY too expensive as it was, let alone if I had to buy $300 worth of headphones on top of the already steep price....jeez, you could get a fully loaded iMac for that price.... -
I actually am in the process of restoring a '79 Pacer Wagon, hence why I asked. The PT Cruiser analogy is pretty spot on, the Pacer had such a bad social stigma by the 1980s that my "child of the 80s" mother refuses to ride in my Pacer to this day. It's true that they built quite a few in the mid seventies, but by the late seventies they were selling hardly any, and it's next to impossible to find one today that hasn't been totally nuked (took me ten years to find mine and even it's pretty rough). However, the search is well worth it for a certain type of person- I seriously think a Pacer garners more attention I today's world than any late model exotic.

What's your opinion on the AMC Pacer?

I am HUGE into cars. Like, I've been obsessed with them since I was 5 and I haven't taken a day off from thinking about them since. But unlike some individuals, I've never really been obsessed with one particular model, brand, or even genre of car. Instead, I find appreciation in almost everything. This is both a blessing and a curse. The good thing is, I can appreciate almost any car, as long as there aren't billions of them on the road (I don't have much appreciation for plain ol Camrys or Malibus, but I probably will appreciate them 20 years down the road when they're a rare sight). The bad thing is, if I go to a junkyard or used car lot, I want to bring almost everything home with me. But it's an obsession that I wouldn't give up for anything, it motivates me and helps to give me character. Also, I fear I'd be a little antisocial if it weren't for the plethora of car events I attend and the friends that I've made through the hobby. Also, ponies. Duh.

How do you think the world will look like in 2070
Attack of the Pwns replied to Lithophila's topic in General Discussion
I expect that the whole "technology" boom as we know it (smaller phones, smaller tablets, smaller computers) will have slown down by then, and those items will have become even cheaper and more commonplace. The terrorist movement will have changed the definition of "war", so while governments will only very rarely declare war on other governments, there will still be armed guerrilla groups trying to take over governments and generally being a neusance. I expect that by 2070, thanks to a larger number of individuals who decide to stay single late into their lives, as well as most likely even higher divorce and separation rates, that for the first time ever we'll see a gradual trend towards a decreasing birth rate. Finally, the trend seems (and this is not a comment on the US political system, mind you) that many more countries will have adopted socialism. Also, expect China to be either Socialist or Capitalist by this time, to be unionized, and to have already become so commonplace that their items are being undercut in price by African companies. -
Should a MLP video game be made?
Attack of the Pwns replied to TheAnimatorOfficial's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Still being developed, but it's not really MLP. *sigh* If only they'd let us have Fighting is Magic, it's not like it would really cost them anything... *le sigh* -
Should a MLP video game be made?
Attack of the Pwns replied to TheAnimatorOfficial's topic in Sugarcube Corner
We might get one, but it'll take us awhile. The thing is, since Hasbro doesn't see video games as a major part of the target market's spending habits (little girls), they'll assume that the game wouldn't be worth the cost of entry on a system like Xbox or Playstation. But when they start to see their target market for MLP as "Gen Y Males" rather than "Millenial Females", that's when they'll think that return on the game would at least bring a small profit. But until they see us as the dominant consumers, no pony games for us. (Aside from the app-based one) -
What would you have Rarity make for you?
Attack of the Pwns replied to ggg-2's topic in Sugarcube Corner
A high-quality, hoof-tailored, suede suit. Wouldn't mind having a bow tie to match, as well. -
I quite like it. Your drawings seem to have this cool old-school cartoony feel to them, sort of what I'd imagine MLP would look like if Hanna Barbera had produced the show instead of Hasbro. I think it's great. Also, CMC stacks are adorable.

When a pony turns it's back to us, the first and likely only feature we're going to notice is the plot, whereas when a human turns it's back to the camera we don't automatically think "look, a butt!" because humans have more features than just buttocks to their backsides. The fact that ponies also have the whole "cutie mark" thing and are generally not clothed add to the amount of plot in the show. So no, the writers aren't perverted, it's just more exceptible to let your rear show in pony culture, mainly because of their anatomy.
-
I'm guessing it would just seem...really creepy. Then again, I don't think ponies would relate themselves as closely to horses as we do. It would be like if some species somewhere out there herded some sort of "missing link" type critter that looked like a human but wasn't sentient- if a human saw one, he'd distance himself from it, even if it did share some aesthetic traits with him. Ponies would be the same way, even though they are obviously related to horses in appearance, that's where the similarity ends.

What if the ponies were watching us
Attack of the Pwns replied to cider float's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Honestly, I'd be a pretty boring show. I pretty much go to school, car shows, volunteer at a car museum, and do other automobile and pony related activities. Assuming the pony watching isn't car-obsessed and pony-obsessed like I am, and isn't human-obsessed like Lyra purportedly is, I don't see the appeal. But it wouldn't particularly bother me, especially if it was like MLP and I was just A major character, not THE ONLY major character. I'd be more than content to be a background human, and would probably find whatever fandom personality they'd give me humorous.
