  1. Look who popped through the fourth wall and took up residence in my apartment! We watched the new episode together today. Very excited to finally get my very own Pinkie, and the Beanie Baby version was both an excellent financial deal and very cuddle-able. Pinkie: " Ohmygosh, I'm so excited, I've never been this excited before, well, except earlier this morning when you saw me on the discount rack at Vintage Stock and took me up to the cashier and I went *GASP* and then you let me sit on your dashboard all the way home, but really what could top that?!" Seriously, this has been the best day in a long while.
  2. Have a happy Nightmare Night, everypony!
  3. like the title says, what two ponies would you most want to go on a roadtrip with? This shouldn't be about your favorite ponies, but rather the ponies that you feel would make the best companions for the trip. Also, two worst? Again, based not on personal preference, but on how well they would cope with the journey. Best: Twilight and Applejack. Whilst not my favorite ponies, these two would do incredibly well on a roadtrip for a few reasons. The fact that they are the most level-headed two out of the mane six would mean that important information, like directions, would be able to be relayed for me in precise, no-nonsense ways. At the same time, because they are two of the most stressed ponies on the show, I can imagine that they would appreciate the opportunity to relax and enjoy the trip, regardless of what was planned along the way. Finally, I could imagine that both of them have a little experience tinkering with machinery, so if something went wrong with the car, I'm sure they wouldn't mind lending a hoof, and might even be able to get you back on the road. Worst: Rainbow Dash and Rarity. This depends a lot on where you are headed, however, because if you were headed to, say, an air show and a succession of high-end boutiques, and doing it in a fairly modern and quick car, I'm sure all would end well. But, me being a car guy, I'm trying to think of a more Hot Rod Powertour-type scenario of taking an old car halfway across the country. An old car that probably doesn't have Air Conditioning, and that would probably break if you pushed it too hard. I think you can probably see where this is going. Rainbow would most likely spend the trip commenting on how slow we're traveling and sleeping. Also, not sure how well she would do having to wait on the planned lunch and dinner stops after seeing her impatience to get lunch in The One Where Pinkie Knows. Rarity, while probably a decent navigator, would get very uncomfortable riding in a hot car witht the windows down staying in low-cost motels, and eating processed red meat and deep fried potato products the whole way. So, whilst they would still probably make it to their destination in good shape, they probably wouldn't enjoy the trip as much. Although, I'd jump at the chance to take any pony on a roadtrip, even these two. So, how about you guys? Who would you think would do the best, who would do the worst?
  4. While I agree with some of the others above that all of the CMC play a part in the leadership role, Applebloom seems as though she's the leader because she can mediate between Scoots and Sweetie. If Scootaloo took charge all the time, the CMC would probably have either gotten badly hurt or even killed by this point because she has no sense of fear, whereas if Sweetie took the reigns they probably never would have stood up to Diamond Tiara or helped Troubleshoes find his talent- she's kind of the perfect medium between Scoots' bravery and Sweetie's self-preservation. She pushes them to take the risks they need to, while also using enough common sense to keep them out of the Hospital.
  5. If you think Earth smells nice, you haven't been to Western Kansas... The feed lots there make the whole place smell of cow manure. Trust me, the ponies are just as cleanly as we are, I guarantee it.
  6. Neck-down paralysis. I know someone who had this happen to them, and I just can't even fathom how scary and defeating it is...
  7. Most people hate "stanced" cars for their absurdity- I love them for the exact same reason. Also, while I don't like him, I'll admit that I don't hate Flash Sentry *covers head in anticipation of rage attack*
  8. A lot of that would depend on how many of my friends/family were still alive and if they would be in danger. I mean, if the ponies are killing ALL humans, then yeah, can't really side with the ponies on that one. But if they're just irradicating governments and leaving innocent citizens out of it, sign me up.
  9. Generally, I only ditch something when one of two things happens: 1. I run out of episodes/fan animation to watch 2. It ceases to be fun I also usually don't ditch a TV series until I've found another one I'm more enthusiastic about to replace it with. As far as MLP is concerned, it'll probably stop watching for the latter reason eventually, because I can't really see an end to the fan works. Honestly, I'll probably be a fan until the series ends, I'll probably disappear for the extra-long hiatus and dip back in when Hasbro attempts to reboot with a Gen. 5 show, and if that one isn't interesting, that's when I'll stop considering myself a brony. Don't think I'll ever be ashamed or embarassed to admit I was one during G4, though.
  10. I don't know where you are hearing this from, most bronies that would want that sort of thing have enough creepypastas to read to last them into retirement. I for one certainly don't want the show itself to take that direction. I mean, I wouldn't be terribly disturbed if they cranked it up to Powerpuff Girls level of violence ever once and a while, but much beyond that would feel counterintuitive. It's for reasons like this that the idea of fandom creations exists. We know that the show will probably never deal with any subject matter that dark, so the people that want to explore that concept can via fanmade content without disturbing the canon for people like myself who'd rather not have it there.
  11. I don't know where he falls on the spectrum, but I like this guy.
  12. I think a lot of us are just experiencing the first stages of nostalgia. We aren't kids anymore, but we don't want to feel like we're losing our youth, so we look back on stuff that was big when we were kids. As a car guy, I deal with this all the time. In the automotive fandom, there's a surplus of old men just waiting to give a "whipper snapper" a lecture on how much better cars were in the '60s than they are now, when in fact something as lowly as a 4 cylinder Camry of today would run circles around the 318 Road Runners and 302 Mustangs that made up most of yesterday's "muscle car" population, let alone what a modern muscle or sports car could do. Since most of us weren't into cars like the baby boomers were, we do the same thing with stuff like cartoons and video games. Well, I'm here to tell you, the other day I was in a nostalgic mood and watched some Rocko's Modern Life and CatDog, both shows I loved as a kid, and guess what- I wasn't overly impressed. They were alright, but if had been 21 in 1998 instead of in 2015, I wouldn't be watching either of those shows as an adult like I do MLP. The point is, things aren't better or worse now than they were then, they're just different. Although, I will agree, Nicklodeon (along with the rest of Viacom) looks like it's pretty much at the end of its rope.
  13. Hey guys, just a quick reminder, if you see something anti-brony on YouTube leave a dislike and for Celestia's sake just walk away. Was on YouTube a while ago, and saw some comments fromboth bronies and non-bronies that almost made my stomach churn with their horrible logic.

I only dislike if their points and reasons are shit.

The whole video was just one big failed trolling attempt, so it was justified. My point was, if you dislike something on Youtube, the worst place to express that is in the comments.

  14. How many males their age are there really to hang out with? O.K., so Scootaloo has a few choices, like Button Mash or Rumble, but other than Big Mac and possibly Dr. hooves, I can't think of any stallions Rainbow's age that live in Ponyville. (I guess Bulk Biceps? ) Also, Rainbow Dash is an element of Harmony, so I makes sense she hangs out with the other elements, and Scootaloo's probably still in that "colts have cooties" stage. :scoots: Besides, just because they're tomboys dosen't dictate who they hang out with. Way took much stereotyping ITT.
  15. That avatar of yours just made me burst out into a grin, and the longer I look the bigger my smile gets. Happy birthday, and thanks for the happy moment.

Haha well I'm very glad it made you happy! And thank you so much! :D

  16. Blasphemy! But seriously, really well done art. And I love the premise- Star Wars gets a goofy character, fans say he "ruins the series". MLP gets a goofy character, she becomes the poster child of the fandom. As a Star Wars and MLP fan, I find this highly amusing.
  17. Happy birthday! Nice OCs, by the way, you did a good job of making them unique without making theme seem out of place in the MLP universe.

  18. The reason I don't tell my parents is because it would confuse the heck out of them- they've never heard the term "fandom" and don't have internet aside from slow, use-only-when-necessary dial up. So yeah, I'm not afraid they'd say anything to me, it'd be more about the whole "I don't know what any of this is about" thing.
  19. I agree with one of the posters above in that the writers need to give them more personality traits than being each other's friend. I mean, the show was the one that started the sitting Lyra and drinking Lyra and creepily smiling Lyra memes, the fandom just pointed them out. That's why I kind of like the new short, because I think the show is finally taking advantage of its chances for spontaneous shenanigans with these two.
  20. While I think it's OK for a man to cry at appropriate times and I do think it's wrong for people who aren't close to us to harass us about crying, I do think a stage in social development, say at about middle school age, where crying is looked down upon is actually important to our development, and here's why- when I was a kid, I would cry at everything. I had a terrible habit of throwing tantrums when I didn't get what I wanted, all the way up until 4th grade. Then, I noticed, other kids were suprised when I cried. Finally some of my friends brought it up to me that it generally wasn't acceptable to cry in public. That was a well needed step in my development, since from that day forward I never again went on an emotional rampage for personal gain. Now, sure, I've cried since then. I cried a little my last day of football practice in 7th grade, mainly because by quitting I felt like I was letting everyone down and because my back had been knocked out of line during the previous drill and hurt like the devil. And, even though I try not to, I've cried at every funeral I ever attended, including one for someone I didn't know personally. But I think the important thing isn't that men should never cry PERIOD but that men should cry in public (behind closed doors do whatever you want) only when the severity of the situation calls for it.
