  1. According to Princess Luna, "put the hay in the apple" means feed Apple Jack hay. And, "eat the candle" was an exhausted, slurred mispronounced version of "eat the candy". She was simply dreaming about having dinner with Pinkie and AJ.
  2. My past is not today Shine like rainbows The smile song Let the rainbow remind you Shake your tail There's more that I only know most/some of the words to. Oh yeah, I know all the words to Music to my ears, if Rainbow Rocks shorts count.
  3. Is my local weather guy a Rainbow Dash fan? ...she is a weather pony
  4. Good point. I could see Spike being bored and wanting Twi to play with him, but she was busy reading, so Spike is wandering around exploring Twi and Shinings house, and he comes across Shining's stash of comics, that he had left at home when he left to be in the royal guard. Now Spike can enjoy reading with Twilight.
  5. So Twi and Cadence finally got to hang out without the fate of Equestria hanging in the balance.
  6. Remember in "Twilights Kingdom" after Tirek got all the alicorn magic, and was gigantic, and clear cutting the ever free forest with lasers? ...and how Zecora lives in the everfree forest? If Zecora could have been there when Apple Bloom got her cutie mark, she would have been so proud.
  7. Also not present for their daughters big day, Rarity and Sweetie Belles parents. I'm sure if "Mom and Dad were here, they'd be so proud".
  8. When the poll finally shows up, I hope we can vote for Pip.
  9. And Rarity's singing voice sounds an aaaauuuuffffuuuul lot like Adagio, for some reason.
  10. Big Mac dose'nt talk much, but when he does, he sure has a lot to say. I don't really have much to say that hasn't already been said by others in this thread. As I read all these posts, I get to the end and think "Eeyup". Brohooves Social will generate many brohooves today. ...also after seeing Big Mac in drag, (and to wipe up all the liquid pride) I'll just leave this here.
  11. They need not share a physical resemblance ( see Twilight and Shining Armor for example), the adorableness comes from the juxtaposition of Bulk Bi being all huge, and jacked up, biggest (comically oversized) pegusi on the whole show with Featherweight being the most skinny, scrawnyist, smallest (comically undersized) pegasi on the whole show. And they are both Pegasus ponies... So bros.
  12. It has been stated in both the show, and in the movie that most powerful magic of all is the magic of friendship. Human Twilight didn't have any friends, and therefore didn't understand friendship. The same goes for Sunset Shimmer in the first movie, she didn't understand friendship. This is why they both turned into similar demons in both movies. The lack of understanding friendship. Friendship magic without understanding friendship becomes chaotic, and corrupts those attempting to use it. You can see, when Sunset finally gets it in the movie. She summons the elements from her friends (which is what Twilight Sparkle does in the show) and combines them to create friendship magic. Human Twilight (inadvertently) stole the elements ( where as Tirek did it intentionally) and it corrupted her into a demon. Likewise, when Sunset stole Twilight's crown in the first movie she became a demon. This also explains why Sunset Shimmer was able to use the elements to defeat Midnight Sparkle, once she realized the magic of friendship, she was able to use friendship magic. In turn her ability to weild friendship magic makes her an alicorn, although in human form. If/when she goes back through the portal to Equestria she will have wings, and it is likely that Celestia will coronate her.
  13. Thanks. I didn't really catch all their names. I just saw that on this second watch, and was going to comment that I realized that guy was Upper Crust. Then that got me thinking that most (maybe all) of the Crystal Prep students are based off of minor antagonist characters from the show. So far we have identified: Trenderhoof, Suri, Upper Crust, Lightning Dust, and... Was that one Jet Set? It would make sense since Upper Crust was there. That one sounds like Aria Blaze. Gilda?
  14. It's called "Rarity Takes Manehatten", and that bitch that stole (actually Rarity gave it to her, but whatever) is called Suri Polomare. And I'll have to watch again to see if I spot her ( I'm watching again anyway, but I'll look for her this time). I also got Trenderhoof. I'm pretty sure that the one with goggles was Lightning Dust, even had lightning earrings.
  15. HFS!!! I just put Discovery Family channel on. The comcast/xfinity guide says Equestria Girls is on, so I figured I'd check and see if it was maybe Friendship Games because they had Friendship Games mislabeled earlier. You know how earlier in this thread I was bitching about how they always play the G3 "movies", and that they should air some G1? Well they are! Right now. Its the one with the Smooze! "Escape From Catrina" (1985)
  16. This thread needs a poll! Why isn't there a poll? Fuck it! I'm voting anyway! ⚫Loved it!
  17. Well, that was a lot better than I thought it would be. I admit, I didn't have high expectations of liking this, as I am generally not a fan of sports themed movies. Thankfully, this kept the athletic competition to a minimum. And managed to add a good amount of pretty good music, considering that it wasn't about rival bands, as Rainbow Rocks was. Those were the two things that were keeping my expectations low, and they turned out to really be non issues. The end was so awesome! Sunset finally, not just understanding friendship magic, but wielding it so beautifully!!! Made my arm hairs stand up, and a few drops of liquid pride (at least I was at home, instead of at a theater, like I was for Rainbow Rocks). Which brings !e to this... I still think Rainbow Rocks was better (of course you do, Colt .45, you have been saying how Rainbow Rocks is one of your all time favorite movies, and is one of your top ten movies you have ever seen for almost a year now). So, yeah, Friendship Games had an almost impossible hurdle to clear to exceed RR, for me. I just really loved the whole music, and bands, and cameos, and sirens/Dazzlings thing. I guess I'm surprised at how close this came to being a worthy rival. Totally going to own this on blu ray when it comes out! It is a great entery into the Equestria Girls films, and I will be watching it again the next couple times it airs this weekend.
  18. I watch that a lot and never noticed. I will look out for that next time I watch.
  19. Just a random rant before the mane event, for anybody that's been watching Discovery Family today. There is this commercial that keeps coming on over and over (well all the commercials pretty much do, I think I've seen like seven or eight commercials fifty times). But this one for a toy called "potty surprise" is just revolting! They shove a spongey, foam pill into the mouth of a plastic, robot, infant human, then they pull its pants down and sit it on a toy size kiddie potty, and then the foam pill is sitting in the bottom of the toilet... Where, I can only presume, it is taken out of the toilet, and fed back to the child!! DAMN! That's some messed up shit! And totally sends the wrong message to little girls about child care, and the diet of babies. Why would anybody buy that?!?!
  20. So, I guess it was you. I was starting to think " am I really the only one that loved this episode?"
  21. Yeah, I'm wondering that too. The way I knew that they had screwed around with Rainbow Rocks, when they showed it on TV, was because I had seen it in the theater. Since Friendship Games wasn't in a theater first, I guess what they air on TV tonight will be the movie. The blue ray for Rainbow Rocks has the length as seventy-five minutes. The version they show on Disco FAM is listed as being seventy minutes. They run it in a ninety minute time slot. Friendship Games is set to air in a ninety minute time slot as well. What will probably happen, is that we will see a seventy minute movie (+ twenty minutes of commercials) in a ninety minute time slot. Them next week ( or the week after, I forget) when Friendship Games comes our on blue ray/ DVD, it will say something like "extended version", or "contains never before seen footage", or "including deleted scenes". Basically, yes, we will probably get the edited for TV version tonight (with commercials) and if you want to see the full, uncut version you will have to pay for it (or steal it from best buy, or the internet or something) just like I had to pay to see Rainbow Rocks uncut, twice, once when I saw it in the theater (totally worth it!) And then again when I bought it on the blu ray. Which I put in the PS3 whenever the movie is on TV, so I can watch the end of the movie. That way I don't feel ripped off when I watch it on TV. Haha, I should just watch the disc, but for some reason, I don't. I must be addicted to the shitty commercials on Discovery Family.
  22. Interesting that when theater ponies play a role of another character they tape a piece of paper with that pony's cutie mark over their own. I guess that's how it would have to work. Nice attention to details.
  23. Perhaps the pacing was fast on purpose, to convey the fast pace of Manehatten. Or maybe they just tried to fit too much stuff in the time aloted. I felt the fast pacing too, but it fit the story line. Didn't effect the quality of the episode to me.
