  1. Best two episodes of the season. So epic, i went to take a nap and all i could think of were ponies xD

I had my riku plushie watch it on the tv in my bedroom too. I felt he would be able to relate to starlight in these eps...(i love treating my riku plushie like he's the real riku xD its fun^^)

Also, thorox makes an awesome new leader^^

    Agreed!  ^_^

More Thorax for season 7!

I like his new colors! Easter pastels are my favs and, though the new changeling colors are a little darker, I still love the light and cheery colors.  :D

    • Brohoof 1
  2. I consider this is the best season finale with changelings are reformed with colorful and spotless as a "redemption"! Thorax is now a friendly changeling since in the episode named "The Times They Are A Changeling", and with Trixie is now best friends with Starlight Glimmer since in the episode "No Second Prances". Oh, and Discord show up too to investigate!  :D

My evidence in the first part: the changelings tricked the Mane 6 in disguise and they aren't real.  :o

I suppose this season finale was supposed to have at least one song (at the ending part) like the other season finales of ponies have one or more songs!

I (considerably) know that Thorax is now the new leader of the changelings. Back in Starlight Glimmer's old village called "Our Town", they're now friendly and in good act without having that nightmare.  :)

Even without an amazing song I consider this the best too! I mean...Easter changelings! <3

Glimmy was a real hero too.  ^_^

  3. Oh I loved this episode I mean discord, trixie, and thorax although I was hoping they would use some townsponies so we would have another set of six...Now excuse me while I scrape the rainbow puke from the "Pwetty changlings" off my recliner... Someone please tell me they aren't keeping pastel changlings..at least Luna was ok in this episode (I'm normally not a Luna fan but that was Ok).. *sigh* this would have been the perfect episode to switch into a new "mane" cast (yes I'm one of those people) but that ever ;) sorry for the rant...

But I love pastel and Easter changelings! EXD  :squee:

I getcha on those characters though. I really wanted to see the Four from Starlight's old town team up with her.  :ooh:  Oh well, at least we got to see them again. I wasn't expecting that.  :fluttershy:

Pretty sure she will be, she did hesitate there. It was just far too much to take in at once - her plans foiled (again), the throne destroyed, Starlight instigating the evolution, the "traitor" winning... Yeah, would have been hard to believe her reformation at that point actually. But rejoice, this means more Chrysalis in the future

    YAY~!  :pinkie:

And yeah, makes sense to work up to it. More Chrysy for us!  ^_^

For Thorax, he was influenced by several good characters:

According to his backstory, he was there at the Canterlot Wedding where he saw the Mane 6 working together to defend their city. The Mane 6 unknowingly made him realized that he didn't want to steal love, he wanted to share it!

Spike was his first real friend, who even risked his status of a hero to stand by Thorax's side.

And finally when Chrysalis tried to steal his love and he tried to resist, it was Starlight Glimmer who revealed that Thorax should give the love and show the Changelings that love can be much stronger when given rather than taken.

All this because Twilight made some friends in Ponyville.  :D Thorax is one lucky changey to have such good influences. Starlight's idea at the end was pretty genius. Let the love flow!

  4. I'm sure they'll reform Chrysalis eventually, I mean, they still have to show how she looks in her "reformed" version. I bet she'll look amazing, But I'm glad they didn't do this now, there's still a lot of potential for her character, and she mirrors Starlight at the end of the season 5 premiere.

    ===

I loved this episode first time I watched it awhile ago. Looking forward to re-watch it later this weekend.

I getcha. I really look forward to it too! I love her and always wanted her to enjoy a better life.  :kindness: It does make sense for her to feel how she does now. I hope for an S7 return.  :squee:

Best season finale ever. I can barely process and fathom everything That just happened in these episodes, so much payoff for longtime watchers- Starlight being front and center, Trixie, Discord, Thorax and the return of the rest of the changelings including Chrysalis ERMAHGERD

I know right?!  :pinkie: I fell like I'm not even expressing how awesome it was! And Starlight trying to destroy the throne with a rock was amazing.  :icwudt:

I'm serious though. Starlight was reduced to no power without her magic. But her real power was her strength of character. She would fight with a rock or her bare hooves for her friends if she had to. She's definitely the kind of character I love to love. And admire.  :squee:

  5. I loved these episodes! Finally after over 4.5 years we get some Chrysy again! (That short shot in an earlier ep doesn't count :P )

There was just so much I loved in this ender. The fact that we got full on Starlight! A new crew with Starlight, Trixie, Discord, and Thorax. What a team! Kind of broken but that just made it even more entertaining. And Discord's fury at hearing Shy had been taken. I knew he would be raged and for some reason it was awesome to see!  ^_^ Only the throne thing kept this from being a short journey.

If I have any complaint with the ender it is merely that Chrysalis did not choose the right thing at the end. I've been wanting her reformed since 2012 and I even wrote a story for it long before "reformation" even became a thing in the show. Hopefully, she'll get a shot in the future like most other characters did but I'm not going to be super hopeful since it took so long just to get this. Chrysy love. <3

  6. No wonder, Angel Wings seemed way out of touch of MLP female pegasus ponies. Most pegasus especially around the Wonderbolt area would be tomboyish.

Personally I would love to see more of this. I loved how her style was different and most of all her voice! We get the same voices so much that I was surprised by the different voice and very pleased I might add.

The real star for me, however, was Angel Wings! Wish we'd gotten to see more of her!

Yep. Love the colors too. I liked both hers and Vapor's colors this episode. Angel's voice though was an added bonus.  ^_^

    • Brohoof 1
  7. Vapor is pretty cute and I noticed when she flies fast she leaves a trail of a marshmellow/easter rainbow like Dash.

Easter colors are my favorite! I love Vapor~!  :squee:

Did you see those Vapor cuddles at the end of the episode? So adorbs!  :pinkie:

  8. I think the episode can be summed up like this:

    sig-4699941.large.jpeg

I've already said before, but I loved this episode. First off, it's a Dash/Wonderbolts episode in season 6 that doesn't take a huge shit on them so it already gets bonus points for that alone. And it's a Season 6 episode where Twilight gets to do something, more bonus points. It's also a map episode where both ponies are useful, so even more bonus points.

Anyway, Twilight and Rainbow Dash prove once again that they make magic together, and makes me wish they'd pair up more often, and Vapor Trail and Angel Wings are adorable. If there's one complaint it's that I can see Sky Stinger being more difficult for people to warm up too

Oh T-Sparks. You old so and so.  :kindness:

Yes, the ship is strong. People may indeed have trouble connecting with him because of his arrogance at the start but Vapor was stealing the spotlight even if he wasn't.  :squee:

I love this episode, probably my favorite of the season. It's one that I was able to 100% enjoy. I gotta say, I really need myself a friend like Vapor.

Finally got to see Twilight do something again, to me it has felt like she hasn't been doing all that much so it was pretty neat, and I'm glad that Rainbow Dash had a wonderbolts episode where she doesn't make an ass of herself, feels good to not have to cringe.

Sky is kind of an idiot though but I'm glad he became a bit more humble at the end. I mean even the professionals have to train and their training is rigorous.

While I may not agree to it being the top of my list for the season, I do agree it's good. It was a nice break not to have Dashie totally crazy. If anyone was crazy then it was Twi and her love of lectures.

  9. When Twilight goes to talk to a confidence-less Sky Stinger, who thought he was a natural flyer for some time, this dialog happened:

Twilight: I wasn't a natural at friendship at first. But with practice and help from my friends, I got better. And now, I'm the Princess of Friendship!

Sky (with confidence returning): So, you're saying I could be the "Princess of Flying"?

Me: Hee, Hee. Everypony wants to be a Princess of something!

Princess Sky Stinger fanart is on the way, I'm sure.

And yeah that was a hilarious moment in the episode. Way to get the wrong conclusion, Sky!  :icwudt:

  10.

If I had to use one word to describe this episode, it would be adorable. Twi and Dash were adorable, Sky and Vapor were adorable and Angel Wings (A Make-A-Wish pony like Stellar Eclipse) was adorable.

Twilight has innate cuteness skills but it was daw-inducing to watch. In particular, Vapor. I agree it was a cute episode. I wouldn't say it was my favorite or give it 5/5 but I liked it very much.  :D

  11. Cap'n AJ & the Quest for Treasure Island.

Coming next "Talk like a Pirate" day. :icwudt:

Yay! :yay:  Um...I mean....YAR HAR!

    We need Pirateshy.  :kindness:

Also, for some reason Cap'n AJ & the Quest for Treasure Island makes me think of cereal commercials.

SPOILER ALERT!  my first impressions of the new MLP episode. Frankly when I saw the ad for this episode I thought I would HATE it because I did not want to see 3 ponies having an incredibly dumb argument and yelling for an entire episode. Luckily that didn't happen here. Instead we got 3 distinct flashbacks that line up with each character and how they perceived events based on their unique character flaws and then had Twilight beautifully stitch together the truth using her attention to detail to weed out what was consistent and what was not in each story. If I had Twilight around doing what she did in this episode when I had fights with friends I would not have lost those friendships(long story) so it really is a great lesson in conflict resolution and dealing with misunderstandings. The animation was also really well done. My only problem with the episode was that giant Pink water living dog like creature appearing out of nowhere because it seems a wee bit forced.

Yes, perspective is so important and it does not necessarily make one right or wrong. It can simply mean one does not have the full picture or context. Personally, I was really hoping the POV of the episode referred to an episode being completely through the literal eyes of a character. Since I think that would make a really fun episode.  :squee:

    • Brohoof 2
  12. This was a fine episode. Another fun little plot of characters telling their stories from their own perspective, and it played out quite nicely. Plus, it gave us a glimpse into Rarity's fabulous seafaring fashion! :D How very Titanic of her.

Don't know about the rest of ye scallywags, but I for one would love to see more adventures of this:

    1262427__safe_rarity_applejack_screencap

I think you mean to say that "I for one would love to see more adventures of this, YAR HAR;)

Also, I am a fully licensed scalleywag.  :smug:

That was highly amusing ^_^ Especially Applejack's interpretation of Rarity, saying "darling" every other word. But Rarity had the best line: "The boat sank, obviously." The deadpan delivery was just perfect  Pirate Applejack was great too.

I love the bunyip. Such a random answer to the whole thing, there's no real mystery solving aspect to the episode, but it was funny.

I wonder if the crab in Rarity's hair was a reference to the "Rarity fighting a giant crab" meme.

I think this episode is going to have high rewatch value in the long run. It's just plain enjoyable.

Many darlings will be darlinged after this episode, darling. We're bronies. It's just what we do, darling.

Votes are coming in and though this is not being voted as spectacular, most people seem to agree it was good and fun. I rate it 5/5 just for the fun jokes.  :squee:

    • Brohoof 2
  13. I love their stories, the Over the top flanderized OOC interpretations of their friends each of the three had were great. I especially loved Pirate AJ and Darling Rarity Darling...Darling. Spike was great too, this was overall a pretty funny episode.

Good lesson too, stuff like this happens a lot when people fail to communicate, it's a bit exaggerated for comedy here, but otherwise true to life. You'd think this problem wouldn't happen with such good friends who know each other so well, and for so long. But in some cases that can almost make it worse. You might get so used to them acting certain ways, that when they "Break Character" in your mind, even when they really didn't, it can put you off quite a bit.

And I'm glad this episode had so much focus on Twilight as well, she's felt like she was a bit on the sideline this season so far.

I had fun, it was a good episode.

I know right? Their over the top characterizations just made the episode fun!  ^_^

I suspected about halfway through that they were all trying to use what was familiar to them to break the others away from what they were used to. But it totally makes sense that they would each see the others as being stubbornly in element.  :fluttershy:

    Bunyip!  :pinkie:

    • Brohoof 1
  14. This episode was alright, pretty good one. I think Ms. Glimmer might be a little too powerful for her own good though... at this rate she might be more dangerous as a friend than she was as an enemy. :P

You know the saying. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.  ;)

the bad thing would be if they did something really horrible and then tried to justify it (like hazing in newbie dash). I'm ok with bad things happening, if they actively confront it.

I agree. I actually like it when they bring up serious issues as long as they are faced as issues rather than "just how things are." Starlight has a ways to go on friendship. Kinda like Discord. But they are making honest efforts and apologize when they need to so it's cool.  :fluttershy:

    • Brohoof 1
  15. Actually really liked tis episode! Characterization was super on point for AJ and Flutters being in that environment, Flim & Flam being around again was cool, and not a sinle one of the new characters were that bad in any way, I mean Gladmane was bad but as in a bad guy lol :P

But yeah this one rocked :squee:

I know right? I like how they even mentioned Pinkie and RD would be better there but we got to see how Shy talked to the animals and AJ used her honesty record that the Flim Flam brothers knew about.

    • Brohoof 1
  16. I really liked this episode! It was fun and I usually don't like Flim Flam episodes. This one is their best in my opinion. Also, the double trickery at the end! I did not read that one. Bravo!  :pinkie:

Call me crazy, but I felt like Gladmane was more like the Pony version of Donald Trump, with a mix of Elvis Presley.

Was it the casino or the subversion? I can't tell.

Also, look at how detailed these sets are! This episode must have taken forever to animate, to say nothing of the countless unique background ponies popping up.

Indeed, I thought it was very impressive. They've really put so much more into each episode compared to ol' season 1.  :fluttershy:

  17.

I liked that Snails is shown to have good magic skills as it provides backstory as to why he was fascinated by Trixie doing magic in season 1

Ya know you bring up an interesting point. I wonder if Snails did a lot of magic practice since that episode and that's why he's gotten so much better. Back in that first Trixie episode, he had trouble just using a simple horn light. Then again, it has been implied to be years past in Equestria at this point.

    • Brohoof 2
  18. Would you guys have been fine if they had lost?

I certainly would have.  The mane 6 don't always have to win.

It could have been amazing to deal with the consequences of a loss.

It could have still been an encouraging and interesting end.  I'm pretty sure that fluttershy and pinkie wouldn't have been shunned by ponyville for losing a match!

I would have been fine with it, yes. I think there could be great lessons there too.  :twi:

Also, I think it's really hard to give the "fun is more important" lesson when it comes to competitive games. It's easy with cooperative games but if some people are considered winners and some losers than there's always the counterarguments. i.e. "You just say having fun is the more important because you lost (self consolation)" or "You just say having fun is the more important because you won and aren't feeling the loss (no empathy)". I'm not saying these things are right but they do lurk in people's minds and muddy the lesson.  :scots:

  19. My most wishful thinking would have been to have Trixie end up being Braeburn's goaltender. To successfully launch herself into the mouth of a manticore must mean she has really good coordination! Plus, I just wanted to see a scene like this:

Rainbow: "Braeburn! You're goal tender is Trixie?!?"

Braeburn: "Yep! She was in town doing her act and she fit the bill perfectly!"

Trixie: "'Tis true - for I, the Great and Powerful Trixie, shall let nary a ball from my team slip by this basket here!"

That would be....amazing! Where's my Trixie emote?! Is the WAU one Trixie? Here, have some Trixie with some free bonus diabeetus.  :icwudt:

I honestly really relate to this moral a lot. I can understand that you're supposed to get better with practice, because practice is supposed to be good, improve your skills and all that, but for some people having pressure put on you for something can be utterly miserable, and suck the fun right out of something.

It's something I actually have experience with. I used to really like writing when I was a kid, I enjoyed writing stories of all kinds. They varied in quality, some were kinda bad, but I started to write some stuff that was overall pretty decent, I was kind of proud of it, even had one teacher call my mom in for a meeting on how good one particular piece was.

Then the pressure came. My mom wanted me to write stories for her, everyone was pushing on me to develop this talent, write better and better, practice, practice, practice. It started to get frustrating, I wasn't really enjoying it anymore. Sure, the practice was good, but the pressure, and the constant pushing to do this thing even when I didn't feel like it just got unpleasant. I would procrastinate writing because I just didn't want to do it anymore, and the quality of it started to go downhill fast.

I probably never would have been a "Professional" writer of any kind, I really doubt that. But it could have been a fun hobby, I could have written fanfic's or something, or if I really stretched I maybe could have gotten a bit of money from writing requests. Except I haven't written anything in years, and I have no desire to. It's just not fun anymore, I think of it as work, it's nothing but a chore, and nothing's ever good enough.

So, I really relate to Pinkie and Fluttershy here. I don't think they wanted to play the game "Professionally", they just wanted to have some fun, I don't think it's that they didn't want to practice at all, but the harsh regime, and all the pushing by everypony to do well got to them. For Rainbow and AJ who are really into athletics, they thrive off this, but for ponies like Pinkie and Flutters, it's detrimental.

Also, Snails was great. I never thought I'd say that, but he was. I'd like to see more of him like this.

I understand where you're coming from. When it comes to art forms like writing, quality is in the eye of the beholder. Unfortunately, there's a lot of people that think that it is instead objective and push their subjective preferences as law. Enter the lesson from Spice Up Your Life. I'm only a writer to this day because I write what I want and I write to have fun. I determine if I think my writing has issues or not based on feedback, which really annoys the heck out of all those "objective" people that want to dictate my writing directly. There's an old saying though: "The best revenge is massive success." - Frank Sinatra

Every day somebody really enjoys one of my stories and it's revenge all over again.  :icwudt:

    IKR, about Snails.

  20. No, your unicorn is on your team, on the other side of the field, catching the balls your strikers hit.

    yup.

the problem is that, at low levels of competition, the natural ability is actually very important.

but it seems that people don't understand that things are different once you get out of the little leagues.

This applies to just about any field or craft too. Which is why I encourage others to practice and keep going if they want to be good at something one day. Because people will try something out (drawing, writing, playing instruments, coding, etc) and then compare against people who have been doing those things for years. It's a false comparison and makes people quit before they even know what they can really do yet.

    • Brohoof 2
  21.

Snail's was the standout character this episode. He was "in the zone" pretty much the whole episode, and it was kinda surprising if I'm being honest. As for the rest of the episode, this felt kinda run of the mill. The set-up for most of the gags were obvious from a mile away, though there were a good number of silly expressions, not to mention Fluttershy once again proves why she's best pony by being both adorable and assertive in the same episode.

She almost went Opposite Fluttershy when she lost it. It was quite giggle-inducing.  :squee:

And yeah, Snails was totally archmage of Winterhold here. Maybe he'll go on to be Starlight's magic student when she graduates from Twilight.

I was hoping for some more well-known ponies on Braeburn's team, but ah well, it was fun anyway.

Anypony is particular you wanted to see there? :)

but working hard actually does make you better at sports.   and there's this cultural thing that some people just have natural talent, which is kinda bullshit.  at any high level of sports, you find some people that may have started out naturally talented, but they had to work their butts off to turn that talent into polished skill.

This is why I get a little frustrated when people pass off some of the things I do as natural talent. It's like saying some people are just born able to do things others can't. When in fact I've worked my tail off to get where I am now. Maybe I had a good start, but it's been practice, practice, practice ever since.  :awuh:

  22.

one side not though.. the guards jumped from one band wagon to another real quick at the end. I understand if the Princess and Prince say they have to be friends they have to but they were ready to kill one second and hooting and hollering the next.  would have been more believable if they gave a reaction like Cadence after Twilight said something, calm and agreeing. Not cheering and over excited. Then again maybe they were being kiss as- uh- flanks.

That last remark has more truth to it than you know. I've been in crowds before and seen people turn on a dime if a speaker they idolize does a 180. It's weird and more than a little unnerving. Having said that, I doubt that's what the writers were doing in the episode. There's a lot of things in the show that are really just super simple because of the target audience (though the target audience may be in question at this point).  :adorkable:
