the more i think about it, why do people scapegoat MALarson as the reason Twilight is an alicorn princess, was it explicitly his idea?

  It's because he was the writer of the episode and because of the whole small campaign of 'I believe in MA Larson' that was going on. Due to his good nature and fandoms love for him, it's more of a lighthearted joke now, but back than, alot of people were disappointed how the episode turned out and turned her into an Alicorn.

  It wasn't explicitly his idea but rather what the staff, likely at Hasbro's prodding, came up for Twilight's development and to cap off the series as MMC was originally the series finale only for it's popularity to push it to Season 6 and more.

  well, for something that was supposed to be a series finale, MMC was a Disney-wannabe wreck with plotholes that are still left in question. i wonder what made Hasbro change their minds about killing off the series, it's not like they were making toys that were worth buying, the few official toy makers are outshined by every rogue toy maker in the world. i think Hasbro are incompetent.
