  1. @@Blitz Boom @@cwhip9 I tend to sneak up on people unintentionally and since Seamore is my Ponysona, it makes sense that he would do the same. People are often startled when I start talking to them because they usually don't know I'm there. Funny thing is, I'm usually wearing bright neon with reflective stripes when this happens. Although I wouldn't expect Crescent to be starled due to the adrenaline. @ everyone Another thing, if somepony asks to see the logging permit, they will notice that it allows for two or three logs (depending on how many end up going on this mission). This is a fact that Seamore will have missed due to his lack of focus.
  2. @ everypony Seamore had heard the noise and said, "hold on" before getting up and walking over. The others didn't notice him at first so he heard most of their conversation. Being well traveled he recognized Stargazer's helmet and knew he was in the Royal Guard. Directed at the guard he says calmly, "I see you have this under control. May I ask what's going on?" He assumed the other bat pony was also in the Royal Guard (just out of uniform) because they were traveling together, and the comment 'impressive catch' indicated that the one with the helmet was of a higher rank.
  3. If I find the time I might draw the Diamond-Spider at some point. Hopefully I can get it done before we get that far, although I think we might have enough time before that happens.

It's a relief that eventually that leg is gonna fully recover!

I feel ya on the whole register thing, you don't have to interact with people when you're getting carts :P

I still interact with people but they are usually happier because I'm either putting their cart away for them or loading something into their car. As a cashier you're the one taking their money.

  5. @@Blitz Boom I need to know, has Briar met Discord yet? I'm not planning on having them meet or anything but this detail may be important to what I have in mind. Discord will not be mentioned in it though. Also, if you're okay with it, Seamore will have met a Snaproot before but has no idea the one he met was actually a slave. This is part of a business transaction, selling wood to Briar's kind through a Snaproot that was sent out into the "dangerous world" in order to obtain it. @@cwhip9 Are you planning on having him join after we leave the campfire? @ the group Asking about the tree is fine, just not the spider yet.
  6. IMPORTANT!! @@Blitz Boom @ @@Fire Lily Please don't have your characters ask about the specifics with the spider until Briar is present. My explanation is designed to intrigue him as well. Also, there will be a mention of a certain YouTuber, bonus points to the first one who gets it.
  7. @@Fire Lily @@Blitz Boom @ Now that he was sure he had their attention he explained, "There is a certain type of wood with unique magical properties which is very valuable that you can only harvest if you have the proper permits. These permits are given in a limited supply to protect it from over harvesting and typically permits are only good for one tree, which increases the value. The permits are signed and stamped by the buyer to prevent somepony from just claiming they hadn't cut one down yet. You even need a permit to buy it, it's so rare. But anyway, a giant Diamond-Spider has moved into the section of the forest they grow in, and I can't cut any of the trees down without that thing finding me. I'm not much good in a fight so If you can distract it I can cut the tree down and haul it out of there. Since it is an invasive species it's not protected by any laws and killing it would actually be helping the local wildlife." Leaning in toward Dusk he whispers to her with his hoof at the side of his mouth so the others couldn't read his lips, "We could use your help, too. I don't think any of us can see in the dark all that well." He then gets up and fills a mug with cider and sits back down.
  8. @@cwhip9 The idea I had for dealing with the vendor is kind of out the window because of certain events, including but not limited to the fact that I thought he would be chasing your character. Although, the tree that Seamore cut down is stills lying there, you may be able to use that to your advantage. As far as the tags thing goes, if you ever need to figure out how some of the scripting works, you can use that quoting trick to see it typed out in full, copy-paste doesn't work for that though. Dogs Try quoting that if you want to learn how it works, this one is a good one to know. @@Blitz Boom I have ideas that could have a reason for Briar to join the group as well as something that could benefit Blitz later wether or not you have her join. Since the group will be fighting a large creature, it might not be a good idea to have the young fillies go along though. Too bad hasn't been posting anything though, there is even something that Kevin would be interested in as well. Seamore won't be fighting the creature, he'll be too busy doing something else while the others distract it, killing it would be a bonus but the real mission is what Seamore will be working on. I'd rather reveal the details within the story. @everyone I need to know for sure who plans on joining in on the campfire, there's going to be a point where that scene has to end and I want to make sure everyone who wants to join in has a chance to. People can decide whether they want to stick with the group after the fire so joining in the campfire does not obligate you to go on this mission.
  9. @@Fire Lily "I've been to places where I stood out, places where Earth ponies aren't too common. You shouldn't let standing out bother you so much, instead you should be proud of what you are. I mean would you really want to be any of these other ponies? Everyone is different in their own way." @@Blitz Boom @ Addressing the other two he says, "if you're looking for a creature to fight we may be able to work out a deal that could be very lucrative. You interested?"
  10. @@Fire Lily Seamore heard Dusk mumble but didn't quite catch what she said. "Did you say something?" This happened to him a lot, he has Attention Deficit Disorder, so he doesn't always notice right away when someone is talking. He was a little distracted by Caliber's sword getting sticky marshmallow on it.
  11. Also, I'm going to make sure I mention my character's name in most of my posts to make it easier to track who's who and make it easier for new people to join. I had to go back several pages for names and descriptions, although the OC links in some signatures helped
  12. Why must halves come in twos? I only wanted half a bagel this morning.

  13. @@cwhip9 Sugarcube Corner is often used for parties. As far as tags go, I figured it out by quoting someone else who was using them to see how it was written out. @everyone I will be working late most nights, from 1:30 to 10:30PM EST. I will try to post in the morning although I might need to keep it fairly short. I don't work Wednesdays or Saturdays, so I'll be more active on those days
  14. @@Fire Lily @@Blitz Boom @ "So are you hunting, or just looking for some fighting practice?" Seamore reached into his bag and pulled out several mugs. "Oh, and I forgot to mention, I've also got plenty of apple cider if anypony wants some." The sun was about to set. He didn't want to set up his tent in the dark, but he has done it before, so it wasn't a problem. "There are all kinds of creatures in this forest, but they only seem to show up when you don't want them to. Although they do stay away from fires."
  15. Today I bought the movie 'The Mask of Zorro' for the PSP for three dollars. It looks like it's in good condition, too.

  16. I might mix up names from time to time, if I do, don't write it off as a typo unless it's a name for a character Seamore hasn't met yet. Seamore is bad with names. He also has ADD like I do, so he might occasionally notice things before anyone else because he's not totally focused on the conversation. Other times he'll be so focused on what he's doing that he'll have no idea what is going on around him. Also, he might need ponies to repeat themselves from time to time, although I won't do that very often as it slows down the story, but these moments will be when he is noticing other things, wether it's important or not. Also, I'm guessing it's late afternoon in the story, possibly close to sunset, but I would like a clearer idea of the time as this could be important.
  17. @@Fire Lily @@Blitz Boom @ "Why would I have a problem with what you are? I've met plenty of bat ponies in my travels. My dad has a good friend who's a bat pony. If they seem to be staring it's probably because you're wearing a jacket when it's so warm near the fire. I don't think they're judging you." Now addressing the others he asks, "what brings you into the Forest today?" He was really curious because of the equipment they were carrying. He made a mental note of the other ponies' names to help him remember because otherwise he'd definitely forget, 'Last Stand, first to talk. ExCalibur. Bat ponies come out at Dusk.'
  18. Well this can get pretty confusing if everyone is typing at the same time. You'll get out of order events and stories that might conflict with each other. At least two other people were typing while I was, because posts appeared before and after mine shortly after I posted it. Lol!
  19. @@Fire Lily Seamore whispers in response, "I saw the way your eyes responded to the light of the fire. I've been in business for a few years selling wood to many different types of ponies, and some other creatures as well." He pulls his marshmallow away from the fire, it's cooked a perfect golden brown. Then he puts the marshmallow on a peanut butter cup between two cinnamon graham crackers and takes a bite.
  20. @everypony "Hello Dusk. I'm not sure if you heard me before when I told them, my name is Seamore." Now addressing the whole group he says, "If anypony would like to make a S'more, help yourself, there's plenty of marshmallows for everyone. I would recommend using the cinnamon graham crackers with a peanut butter cup, although there are many options." He whispers to Dusk in a tone that conveys his acceptance of her, "I can tell you're a Bat Pony and you're trying to keep it a secret. It's okay, your secret is safe with me." Seamore sits down and starts roasting a marshmallow, being very careful not to burn it, holding it at the side of the fire so it doesn't get too smokey. "Again, I'm sorry for the noise, that tree hit the ground louder than I thought, usually the branches soften the impact but one side was a bit light on branches."
  21. I know I posted something a bit soon, but I saw an opportunity and decided to take it, moving events into position to allow more characters to interact. Basically trying to open things up a bit. @@Blitz Boom In case you wanted to know for Briar's senses, the wood is a mixture of oak and hard maple as they are slow burning woods that burn hot. The fire is started using pine branches however because it is easier to ignite. The wood has been properly aged.
  22. When the fire lit Seamore could see Flutter Dusk immediately. He noticed how her eyes reacted to the light and could tell she was a Bat Pony, but she seemed to be concealing her wings, so he wasn't going to say anything about it. Directed toward where she was hiding he said, "You're welcome to join us if you'd like. What's your name?"
  23. @...Everyone I guess. "What do you say we get this fire started?" As he says this he goes over to his cart, not noticing Dusk, and pulls two bags out from a box in the side of the cart separated from the part the logs are in. Next to that box, also attached to the cart was a keg marked 'Sweet Apple Acres Apple Cider' with a tap on it. Seamore brings the bags over and opens up the larger one taking a good amount of firewood out of it, setting up some of the wood in the fire pit. He then opens up the other bag and takes out several varieties of graham crackers and chocolates as well as a bag of marshmallows. "It seems I've forgotten my matches. Would you mind lighting this for me...Caliber,was it?"
  24. @@Blitz Boom The fact that the vendor doesn't seem interested in pressing charges for property damage should also be taken into account, as a legal battle could be more costly and create more of a hassle for both parties, settling out of court can save a great deal of time and bits. There are many different ways this could go and I have some ideas for some of the possible outcomes. Another idea was to have Crescent replace the stand personally, in which case he could have to work out a deal with Seamore for the wood. This is just one of my ideas though, just take the story whichever way you think it should go, I will be able to work with it.
  25. @@Blitz Boom To me it seems as though the vendor and Crescent have come to a verbal agreement, in this case the Night Guard wouldn't have much authority to arrest him as Crescent has already agreed to his terms. If Crescent refuses to pay any more or created some sort of issue the vendor may be somewhat justified in his chase and detaining him could have legal repercussions for both Stargazer and Crescent. I do have multiple plans for dealing with the vendor depending on how events turn out.
