  1. I am doing fine, but through the last two weeks my mom had been coughing and with fever. It's not COVID, but the doctors couldn't find out exactly what kind of infection was. But fortunately, she got better. She's no longer with that symptoms, but she's still a bit weak. In the next couple of days she should be back to normal! On a different note, Easter was not too long ago, and I would like to share the pictures that I took of the Paschal Triduum: https://photos.app.goo.gl/oKJXnFy6GDiDBLTt6 A belated Happy Easter, by the way. 🕊️
  2. Things were a bit slow the last couple of years, because of the recent stuff. But I am doing well, and so is my family.
  3. That's pretty cool! I still enjoy Sofia. And, I am not sure if this count as a girly show, but another show I like is Miraculous Ladybug.
  4. I was talking in a general manner, not specific examples or anything that you did. Just some general guidelines, I didn't claim that martial arts would a form of occultism. That's good to hear! I have learned about the use of relaxation techniques in a Prayer and Life Workshop, that I did a while ago.
  5. I am not familiar with martial arts. But speaking in a general sense, there's nothing wrong with physical training and self-discipline, and neither with defending yourself. The body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and taking care of yourself is also a form of respect. Physical and mental discipline are good, and can help one to better serve God. Anyways the first commandment always apply. One mustn't put anything above God, whether it's some occult spirit or even oneself (i.e. Narcissism), because nothing except God can lead to supreme happiness. Clearing your mind and getting relaxed doesn't necessarily counts as prayer by itself, but can help you to get in a better mindset for praying. By being calm prayer can be much more fruitful than while agitated and unfocused.
  6. I think that it's important to get to some place where you are received well, and that's loyal to God, then try to get involved and helping people with events and stuff there. Plus it's better to get guidance of those who are already experienced. But more importantly, it's necessary to understand that Truth is more than just a concept, it's a living person who wants to have an active role in your life if so you allow, as God respects one's will. There are certain aspects of the faith that you only actually learn when you live through it, life experience is important.
  7. I am really sorry to hear. I would suggest to divert your attention from the source of the problem, and try to concentrate on something that you like. It's out of your hands now, and it's better to leave it on the hands of God. I am not familiar with Hinduism, so there isn't much that I can help with that. But in a general sense, I would say that learning about it IRL appears to be a better approach to me, since the religious experience is something that happens outside the Internet. What I mean here is to try reading some book or look for someone in person in order to learn. I don't know anything about the subject to be more specific, sorry. At any rate, I am praying for you. Take care
  8. For the people that you mentioned, concepts like "diversity" and "equality" don't mean what they would normally mean. They are buzzwords to justify whatever agenda they want to justify. The idea that people are equal actually comes from Christianity, and here it means that everyone is created in the image of God (not the other way around), their life is valuable, they have the same dignity, are as much sons of God as each other, and have the same fundamental rights. All of this regardless of condition or place of birth, gender, age, beliefs, or anything else we would use to segregate people. This doesn't mean that everyone has a the same skills, ideas, tasks, or just behave on the same way. Each individual don't have everything they need to live, it's necessary to depend upon others and to assist others too, and be understanding of their limitations. God gives different talents and gifts to each person, so each one can contribute with their part. That's what "diversity" actually means. Here I am not talking only about skill sets, God made men and women each one with their own attributes so they can complement each other, instead of being at odds against each other. Both are important, in their own way, to the project of God. I am emphasizing this matter specifically because one of the main tactics of the evil to attack the project of God is to blur the differences between men and women, or even pretend that they don't exist. Implying that someone is guilty of something just because of something like their skin color, gender, or religion is the actual prejudice here, and it goes against God. It puts people against each other, it divides, which is what the Devil does the best. And this applies to everyone, if it's wrong to have prejudice of black people, it's the same for having prejudice of white people. One person just can't be blamed, or respond to, for the mistakes of others. To respond to your question, evil people hate God because the light of God exposes them. You need to get rid of your sins in order to be in harmony with God, however they want to worship themselves in the place of God. It's pride, pure and simple.
  9. I am sorry to hear. Even Jesus himself was prosecuted, and he warned that we (Christians) would also be prosecuted in his name. But God is always guiding us in some form or another, and everything in the end concurs for the good of those who love him.
  10. Merry Christmas to you, friend!

  12. I missed the status you left on my feed some time ago, I am really sorry. I have responded to it :)

  13. Happy Pentecost! Thank you, @PiratePony . Today at my church I had a nice surprise. There's an old lady of our community who I visit sometimes, she is sick so she couldn't come much to church. However today she managed to come, and she sit next to me. She really likes coming, and I am really glad for her.
  14. Thank you very much! Hopefully it should be a great week, I like this time of the year.
  15. I can say that I understand your feeling, however it’s better to not judge other people since usually it’s not possible to know what they went through or are thinking. Also, I presume that you feel this way because you were unfairly treated by some other atheists, but it’s better to not continue the vicious cycle. Despite any differences between people, in the end of the day everyone is a fragile individual, we all are capable of suffering pain, hunger, cold, etc. It is important to support each other. You do not need to feel good at first, it is not about what you feel, but what you actually do. The latter is something that you can control. Therefore, I would recommend for you to give some words of support anyways.
  16. "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, full of grace and truth; we have beheld his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father." Merry Christmas to everyone!
  17. I think that it was an well-balanced comment, given what you know about the subject. You didn't try to talk about stuff that you didn't know, you were honest about what you know and talked a bit about it.
  18. This is something that I wanted to answer long ago, but I didn't because English isn't my first language and I am not really much familiar with the English Bible translations. That being said, the Catholic English translations that look the best for me are the Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE) and the Douay-Rheims American Edition (DRA), with the former being the best of these two in my opinion. I think that a pitfall in Bible translations is trying to simplify the language, as this can end up inadvertently omitting certain nuances or even changing the original meaning of the text. The RSVCE looks detailed and formal enough for me. But that doesn't mean that other translations are bad, I am just talking about what I have some knowledge of. Amen!
  19. Hello! Apologies for taking a bit to respond. First, I am sorry for what happened to you. That was really uncalled-for. I understand that it can give a really bad image about God, but ultimately it affects God in no shape or form and also has no bearing on his existence. Ultimately, the one who should be followed is God himself, and not those who claim to act in his name. Their purpose should be just to lead people to God, but let's not forget that people are imperfect and they can commit mistakes. Anyways, I see the idea of evolution as indifferent to the existence of God. The idea of God talks about someone who is the first cause of everything else, that is, God as the responsible for the Universe, including laws by which the Universe works, as well anything else beyond the Universe. God can make things to work in any way as he see fits, so whether evolution is correct or not, it is compatible with the idea of God. Therefore it's not necessary to abandon knowledge in order to follow God. Actually, it's just the opposite: the idea of God presumes that there is a logic by which things work, that is, absolute truths. So seeking knowledge is also an way to understand God, which is why Science was developed in the West, which has a strong influence of Christianity. The Catholic Church has founded the first universities, for example, and even today quite a few universities have a Christian upbringing. About seeking God. Well, everyone has a sense to seek for meaning, to look for something deeper. It's not unlike the sense to seek food when one is hungry, or water when one is thirsty. Those are things that are necessary to live, and it would be quite pointless to have the sense to seek something that cannot be found. Even when people don't believe in God, they still seek for something more, except that they might end up replacing God by pretty much anything else (like power, fame, fortune, objects, other people, or --worse-- themselves). Though these things might have their use when properly used, they are unable to fill the hole that only God can fill. Sometimes the only way to realize that is when you experience the emptiness yourself. Faith is something that is a gift from God. And he gives it to whoever wants and seeks it. It might takes a while, even the saints go through long periods of spiritual dry spell. I presume that it happens so one can seek God in a more uninterested way, without second intentions. Anyways, I would suggest to first seek a different group than the one where you used to be, be them from the Luteran Chruch or otherwise, one that worships God in a mature way. Having the help of other people IRL to help you and learn from is really a good push forward.
  20. I have not been around much lately, because I was also busy with college. Tomorrow, July 4th 2017, is the defense of my PhD Thesis on Chemistry. I would like to request some prayers, so everything goes well By the way, here are some pictures of my doctorate work: https://goo.gl/photos/gGMj7m55t2yMFDNy6
