Why do I have the compulsion to create? Why do I continue to write and make music, despite mine being the only ears it reaches? I do not do it for recognition... something deep inside compels me to do it... but what?

don't you create art first and foremost because you want to create something of your own? don't you create art mainly for yourself, make music that you want to create? at that point, does it matter that much if other people will hear it or not? if you're content with creating it, that's all that matters. that's what i think of it, anyway.
