Lol, here was how I beat three.
Item Upgrade Glitch. Repeat with full set of leather armor at the starter cavern. Then upgrade a basic sword 27 times.
That gives me a fully equipped Onion Knight. Repeat the glitch until it gives me two potions, therefore upgrading my character. Then, I battle 99 times to get him to level nine. Boom.
