old sonic games being Sonic the Hedgehog I, II, and III, right? yeah, that's were i was coming at: at the time they were the fastest, smoothest scrolling games out on the market. the first one is kinda slow and clunky, though. the other Megadrive games improve on the speed and functionality of the games. only thing that they lack are enough long trails for you to run like hell on. instead you have lots of platforming aspects, which feels clunky to control in.

@Viscra: Yeah, I used to play 2 on my Genesis. Saying that game is fast is a load of bull.

@letterONE: Okay, Sonic '06 averaged 2/10 ratings from reviewers. Just because a game was made 6 years ago doesn't give it an excuse to suck that much. Besides, Unleashed was way more recent, and that was absolute crap.

But unleashed was mediocre at worst ;_;

Unless you are talking about that wii/ps2 version, in which case lol that thing's garbage.
