  1. Okay, after a looong absence from the forums, I'm ressurecting this thread. I'll try to keep up a pace of 3+ reviews aday to eventually catch up. Wolf @AmberDust Amber Dust (Amber Dustception!) Btw I love the extra effort/extra stuff you put into her profile, very interesting and enjoyable to read. Vera Alithea
  2. Viva la Prance! Wanted to to just a knight for a while, so I decided to just go full Bretonnia/Athurian Legend for Prance.
  3. Griffon update!: Well kida, it's a hippogriff, but I think that should count, right? Tried to diffrentiate him a bit from the others (ears, the mane the tail) from the others. I think it turned out nicely. @~Sassy Dashie~ Aww, thanks you guys. Hmm, I'll look into it...
  4. The FiM style strongly favours a 3/4 View for faces (loses details on the face and puts the mane at a weird angle), evident by the fact that you rarely see a frontal view on the show. My advice would be to keep the details to a minimum (nostrils and one line to represent the upper edge of the nose). Also keep in mind where the mane would attach to the scalp. Pic relates; its the only frontview I could find in my backlog.
  5. This looks really cool indeed. If I would have to give any advice, I'd say distribute the plants a bitn more evenly throughout the mane and tail. Also, maybe tweek the headshape a little to differentiate the whole thing a bit more from Chrysalis.
  6. Eeh, I don't really care for that fan theory. Can't deny the skill on display here though, major kudos.
  7. To be honest, these look like they were copied off existing images and while there's nothing wrong with that in principle, it won't help you to become a better artist. If you want to improve, I'd advice you to sttart practicing pony anatomy to get a grip on how ponies look and move etc. Once you get the hang of it, you can start recreating different poses (by building up the pose, not by drawing the outlines. Also, start off small, the bigger an image the harder to make it look goo. These should take you most of the way:
  8. Oh, tha's an intriguing style you got there. I feel the pencil actually works to your advantage. I'll be looking forward to seeing more.
  9. See ya later, laddies. Aam aff for a holiday. Edit: Ninja'd Come and see the violence inherent in the system! Help, help, I'm being repressed!
  10. In grayscale no less: Being absent from the forums for while has the advantage of having a lot of art to dump. Also I've been meaning to colour the first guy. Anyone got a suggestion for a nice clourscheme?
  11. As OCs go, this is pretty good. -her possessing dark magic should probablybe addressed in some way (extra control training, sealing it away, something among these lines), since it's not exactly an ordinary thing -what's her talent/cutiemark story? -give her some hobbies, likes/dislikes, something she's not good at The overall text also needs cleanup. An OC's description should be as objective and snappy as possible; elaborating is what short stories are for.
  12. That looks really neta, kudos. Not sure if possible (depending on how you work, but maybe lower her hairline a bit? As it is, she looks like she's balding.
  13. looks great, could make for a nice shadow box. Maybe put a teensy bit more saturation into Sweetie's mane.
  14. Don't stop me now! I'm having such a good time; I'm having a ball...

  19. On the one hand, being able to look straight ahead would be pretty useful. On the other hand, I really like this hat...
