  1. Kind of. He grew up in Applewood(Hollywood), and lives in Equestrian Seattle. He's shy, yet street smart and kinda sleazy. He can manipulate sound with his horn to make music.
  2. Could you add mine? What requirments do you need for him to be in the story?
  3. Perfect Also, do you accept the addition of OCs in your story?
  4. So we're going with the cartoon canon. It's very likely there's a spell that can bring back Sombra, but a reanimation spell would probably be forbidden and top secret. Prhaps you could make it so some of the terrorist members work in high profile jobs while undercover. One of them would have the chance to take the spell. It would add some tension too, since you wouldnt know who to trust
  5. King Sombra died in the Season 3 premier, by canon, according to the writers. Though if you consider the comics canon, the game is changed entirely. The comics state that even though he was gone, he could still be brought back through his horn, which would imply that he was brought back from the dead. The Crystal Heart seems to hold the magic needed to keep Sombra at bay, so if it did manage to be displaced, he would be capable of returning, given there's a way to resurrect his psychical self.
  6. What do you need exactly? Slang? Are you typing the words like they pronounce them? A good thing to do is watch videos of people or tv shows from Britain, they are everywhere on Youtube. You could try watching videos on how to speak with a Briish accent. The most effective thing to do is to get involved with a lot of British media. Just be careful. If you want a certain region, make sure you dont end up mixing accents. And some British programs are made to be more understandable with American audiences, meaning the accents and vocabulary are toned down heavily.
  7. I could lend a hand. I could be a canon consultant, or writer(especially for horror or romance).
  8. I'd totally do it. What kind of action do you need? And do you need horror premises, too?
  9. I wonder how the anatomically correct pony rears got past the moral guardians. Or why theyre there in the first place. Not that I have a problem with the rears. But at first glance to many people it'd seem inappropriate. But still, it confuses me.
  10. I usually stay away from 1st person. It makes me feel limited when it comes to addressing situations.
  11. Thankfully, I only have a couple of those to worry about. There are about 12 regular characters, but that's partly the reason each character has a respective episode. I make sure every character has at least one quality that makes them unique, and I never spend too much on a backstory, but more on how their past shaped their current personal lives.
  12. It's a MLP IRL fan fiction, half black comedy satire of fics in that genre, and half Skins-influenced drama with ponies, with elements of Action and Horror. There are four overlapping stories that play out over and influence the human characters' personal "episodes", which are what I'm calling the chapters. The fic is formatted after a Skins generation; the whole fic is connected by two "seasons", with seven episodes each, making one for one(or two) from an ensemble cast of disgruntled teenagers. Every episode describes and maps out the respective humans' personal lives to give their characters depth, and a problem they get into, where they try to get over it with the company of a pony, who usually is the foil of the human character's morals, adding a mixture of dark comedy and teen drama. My concern is that it's a very long fic, and I want to make sure it doesn't decay, since my writing skills are VERY limited
  13. I write my stories like they were movies or shows, because I don't gain inspiration from reading books, since I don't read very often. In turn my stories are very simple to read, but have loads of dialogue, and narration is only there to give simple actions, or whatever else is necessary, on occasion describing scenes in a sarcastic, dry-humor style.
  14. I need advice on how to make a fanfic with an interesting style of narration and good humor, because since my current fic would be the longest I've written. If you need facts about the story just ask.
  15. I've been writing a fanfiction, that is a remake of a comedy-drama MLP fic, named Once in A Lifetime about the ponies coming to our world and having to be rescued from a couple animal smugglers that I wrote in 2012 to cheer myself up after having to move away from California. I finished it after about a year, and I kinda forgot about it until I started watching a show called Skins. I instantly started blueprinting a concept for a web series adaption of my fic, but eventually it just turned into a written fic. The remake is in a Skins-ensemble format. The fic is two "seasons" with 7 "episodes" per season. Each episode focuses on one of a small cast of characters from Once, who went through heavy personality changes(their only connection to their Once versions are their names, save for a couple characters). The fic has a very, VERY heavy focus on music(Like every other thing I do). It's even named "Runaway, Houses, City, Clouds", which shares its name with a Tame Impala song. The fic switches between a number of genres, the general ones being Comedy, Drama, Crime, Horror, Action, Teen Drama, and Sitcom. It's going to be rated M for Graphic Sexual References, Strong Violence, Very strong Language Throughout, Heavy Drug Use and Reference, Rude and Unsettling Humor, Frightening Situations, and Upsetting Moments. There are 3 main plots to the fic. The one the fic mostly focuses on is Twilight Sparkle getting brutally murdered and wakes up in Seattle rather than preceding to the afterlife. She finds her way to Whidbey Island where she meets a bunch of jaded, hormonal teenagers, and she has no choice but to stay with them and go along with them on their very stupid decisions and awkward mishaps. Eventually, their minds have trouble depicting reality from TV, thanks to Twilight's presence, and they start going through unsettling hallucinations. Along with that they have to keep her from a sociopath who wants to sell Twilight on the Black Market to impress his very wealthy government father. The second plot is an 18 year old reporter named Teresa(not from the original fic) who is investigating a series of deaths and murders that show no cause of death, starting on Twilight's arrival(an event she doesnt know about). Eventually she learns about a species that come from another level of existence that are invisible and completely silent and can warp reality and hide in light, and are VERY angry, which leads to Teresa finding out that that means our "fourth wall" is broken, preventing anybody anywhere from going to the afterlife, so she has to find a way to fix it. That plot basically answers any questions the main plot brings up. The third plot is a very minor one, used to add some crime flavor to the fic, about a motherload of drugs, that all the characters seem to fight for, along with a number of criminals. Runaway is influenced by a number of movies, shows, books, and songs, most notably Skins, Trainspotting, Pulp Fiction, Life on Mars, Ashes to Ashes, and whatever song plays on my ipod. A big thing about the fic is that it is actually about the teens' character development. Runaway also uses MLP fanfic cliches for comedy. Every character eventually finds out theyre in that fanfic scenario, so they use that to their advantage(and often comes back to bite them). Since there's a lot going on here, I need to know if it would be a readable story instead of a confusing mess.
  16. The Yardwork one was really sweet. Reminded me of Fatboy Slim in a way
  17. I have two things to announce. The first is that I am getting a new phone, that's important because I had to rescue over 100 samples I have composed in Figure, which I sent themto Garageband and to iCloud, which got my attention, since I have over 100 Figure samples spanning to 2013. I've been messing around with my software and instruments to try and find a basis for a brony album I want to release later on, and I knew I could use the samples I had. So I polished a bunch up and made some songs out of them(one of them I released to celebrate MLP's 5th birthday), and have also been digging through my records to find cool stuff to sample. My album's theme is decided. It's going to be a collection of upbeat synthpop/neo psychedelia, and is going to be some of the happiest recordings I've composed(in the least it's happier than my current non pony musical project I've been stressing through). The mood is going to be summery and like what the soundtrack to MLP would be if Neon Indian, Phantogram, d.notive and Voodoopony were hired to compose the BGM, and then had a mixture of ecstasy and LSD after watching 90's raves and their budgets were cut so they can only afford cheap equipment, and they had a deadline of two weeks or they wouldnt get to compose and they knew Hasbro would hire Lil Wayne instead if they didnt reach the deadline so theyre in a hurry. Also I need to know how to become a famous brony musician. I submitted a thing on Brony Musicians.com, but I'm not on the site yet. I desperately need to be in the scene(*insert edgy story here*). Here are my sites, so you can get in touch: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxHi2DqrgwrnJZxVtSt_BFw https://soundcloud.com/erik-grove
  18. Thanks for the feedback. The plotpoints mentioned above are introduced in separate times, not at once, and usually after another plots already been resolved. The whole world isnt involved, its the small group of characters, each one representing some trait we see a lot in today's society. It's only that group that can even see the ponies. It's about their character development when something from a kids showgoes into the care of a bunch of teens. The whole conspiracy and Fourth Wall plot is a sidestory that Teresa is going to take on when I'm not focusing on Twilight. There are only a few occasions where the End of the World subplot is brought up in the main story. The main story is the culture clash and protecting ponies from getting kidnapped. The story focuses on the characters in different times. They all have varying views on each other so usually there isnt any focus on more than 4 characters in a chapter. The tone of the story is a bit complicated. I rebooted the original version after getting into shows like Life on Mars, Skins, and Ashes to Ashes, because after watching them I felt I could do better with my fanstory. The tone of the story is heavily influenced off those shows. The mood of the whole thing leans more towards a Comedy-Drama than a straight out Comedy. The story does have mature themes, but overall it is lighthearted and funny in a somewhat dark way(which makes the humor look a bit dry), while having room for serious threats and drama. However, it is probably the most optimistic story I've written thus far. There is a central theme, which is perception on the world and the different ways people see it. The Fouth Wall thing has asmall part in that theme, but it's also there because I want to creep people out
  19. I made a fanfic back in 2012 as a response to My Little Dashie. It took place in mid 2013 and is about Twilight and her friends getting an assignment from Celestia to travel to Earth to verify its safety for colonization, figuring the planet wasnt populated, but when they make it to Earth it turns out Princess Celestia scanned the Earth before people were around asa result of time running differently onEarth. They eventually run into a bunch of kids that are basically the ponies personalities, but more cynical: Nick, a bookworm but also a non social sarcasm master took Twilight, Phoenix, a tough guy with a soft side took Rainbow Dash, Jennifer, a fashion girl, took Rarity, Amy, a shy weakling, took Fluttershy, Harry, a country kid with an alleged allergy for apples, took Applejack, Mr. White, their teacher, took Twilight too, while Lucy, a depressed for no reason girl, took Pinkie Pie. In the course of 24 days, their lives change course as they learn that even on Earth there is good, while protecting the ponies from two mad scientists with dumb names, and a bully named Buck. The fic was rated M, but not NSFW. In 2014, 2013 came and went, and I started watching Life on Mars, Skins, and Ashes to Ashes, which is around the time I started writing a script for a web series based on my fic. However, the version I made was changed in many ways. First off, the adult content was amplified through the roof, while the original fic only implied the adult content, the script didnt hold anything back. Secondly, the fic was updated to be more cultured and rich in background. Instead, it's about Twilight getting murdered and waking up in Seattle, finding her way to Whidbey Island and into the arms of Nick, a cynical and rude sarcasm master, Phoenix, a hormonal macho type guy, Jennifer, an attention seeker, giving her body to any guy she meets, her friend, Amy, an extreme feminist, Harry, a homosexual conservative working for the Tea Party extremist Buck, who wants to take the ponies and use them for military purposes and kill the ones that refuse. Mr. White is a police officer. A new character is Teresa, an attractive journalist that wants to get in on the whole thing. Lucy is no longer depressed for no reason, she is abused by her father. They all get involved with Twilight's stay(and eventually the other ponies). The characters all go through their own troubles. For example, Harry is ordered to take the ponies, but while he's one of the story's bad guys, he's the one with the most heart out of all the characters, and he struggles with that. Meanwhile, the ponies go through some highly embarrassing situations as Equestrian and human cultures clash, but the ponies arent the main plotpoint: it's the humans. The whole series focuses on the tests and changes the humans go through as the ponies change their views on the world, and while its a comedy, it also calls humanity out for many faults. I changed the story from a script to a written fic and added a sideplot about why Twilight was murdered, which was an old conspiracy going on about causing the end of the world to end overpopulation and a bunch of paranoia inducing plots about the Fourth Wall and what happens when you look away from the television. But the character development still remains. The fic is my remake of My Little Dashie, basically what would happen if the ponies were found by rambunctious, sexually driven teenagers, and why having ponies breaking the fourth wall to meet us is NOT as cool as it seems.
  20. I have more tunes on my Soundcloud if you need more to go on https://soundcloud.com/erik-grove
  21. I made the song with Audacity using tidbits I made on Figure, which is where I make all my greatest tidbits. I cut out early because the rest of the song is pretty poorly made. You can check out the full version on my Soundcloud page. But I like the song I might remake it sometime
