  7. Daniel looked back up at Thalia as she spoke, listening to her question. "You could say that." He said simply, trying not to lead any information he wanted to withhold. He then turned his head back to it's original position, contemplating his next move, thinking about both the rewards and the consequences. As he made up his mind, he could feel the air between the two getting thicker and thicker, and knew he had to make a decision soon, or risk the conversation whittling away to nothing. He made up his mind, and began to talk again. He concentrated, and as he talked, started to send a tendril of his thoughts to outside the door, prying for anyone who might have been listening up to this point. When he spoke, it was barely a whisper. "The reason I asked you here, Thalia, is because you are the person on this train I trust most, up to this point, other than myself, but only because you're the one I've talked to the most. I needed to make a pact with someone, and you were readily available, so you were chosen. I'm sorry if it inconveniences you, but in order for me to relinquish my reasons, I must know you trust me, as well."
  8. Daniel recoiled slightly as Thalia revealed her eye, trying to look away from it, but at the same time not being able to. In fact, it was if he could feel himself about to fall into it, before she lowered her bangs and broke his line of sight. He replied to her question. "I'll be fine. I usually don't dream anyways." Daniel shook his head, clearing his conscious before continuing. "Since you've told me yours, now I shall tell mine. I'm currently traveling down the path of mastering telepathy. It's the only power I have, but I can use it extremely well. As you already well know, I can project my thoughts into others' minds, as well as read their own thoughts, if I so choose. There is a lot more to it, but it's hard to explain." Daniel put emphasis on the last few words, bringing forth the notion that he was not going to give more information than was given to him. As he had learned from experience, it's sometimes smarter to fold, than to show a royal flush. He had also learned from the same experience that trust is easily broken, and extremely hard to repair. He looked away slightly, a bit sadder than he was the previous minute.
  9. Daniel turned, surprised, as a third-party member entered the room unexpectedly. He assumed it was a member of the staff, until the door fully opened, and he saw another student standing there, addressing them. Daniel's eyes widened when the new person stated he had heard his voice. "I thought I was only projecting towards Thalia, but I guess I didn't fine tune my frequency enough." He thought, mulling everything over. Judging the third-party person again, whom was now spinning in circles, Daniel decided he wouldn't be much threat, someone that could easily be taken out. However, under the circumstances, it would be wise to figure out his power before confronting him. Daniel's eyes widened, and he shuddered as a memory suddenly rushed towards him, originating from the fuzzy areas of his brain. He was running, carrying his nine-year-old form through a dark, forested area, tendrils of dark fog obscuring his vision in any direction. As he ran, his little feet pit-pattering on the ground, he turned his head, staring in fear at the dark figure chasing him. He couldn't make out it's face, but it was definitely not human. It's body was made up of what seemed to be the very same fog that surrounded Daniel, It's eyes a glowing, sunburst purple. As he looked back at it, he failed to notice the tree root in his path, catching his feet, and forcing him to fall to the ground. Daniel quickly turned on his back, and gasped in a breath of air as the beast lept, aiming straight for him.... Daniel jolted back into reality. He hadn't moved, but he had become a bit hotter than normal, sweating slightly, and his eyes were wider than normal. He quickly collected himself, and turned to Thalia, making sure to completely fine tune everything before projecting his thoughts. "It's up to you if he stays or goes, you might know him better than I."
  10. (I was under the impression that even though the meeting was over I could leave early. Sorry. xD) Daniel still sat on the edge of the bed, staring at Thalia, rubbing his chest where her punch had landed. "Even If I did tell the others, It wouldn't have much effect. You see, everyone on this train has a power of their own. That's how we're all connected. This school we're going to, this school for the "Mentally Enlightened", actually means mentally enlightened. I didn't mean to try and threaten you, and I'm sorry if I made you feel that way. My only intentions were to create a pact." He stood up, and walked to the window, looking out of it again. "You are one of the only two people I have actually talked to on this train ride, and so therefore you are more trustworthy than anyone else. However, seeing as how I only know you have a power, and not what it actually is, I wanted to make the terms of the pact as such: We shall know each other's powers, and come to each other's aide if it is needed." Daniel turned and looked back at Thalia, the only thoughts in his mind about the pact. "Do you agree to the terms?"

It's a gas station/mini mart kind of thing. It has food as well. Nothing special. It is a rather local thing, for my area.

  12. Daniel glanced at his map once, briefly going over it before folding it and putting it in his pocket. Right now he didn't much feel like figuring something like the landscape of an island out. He instead thought back to what he heard earlier, about Luce, and the mysterious figure named Julian. What he heard merely confirmed his earliest suspicions. He now knew that everyone on the train had a least some form of a mental or physical power. What he now needed to do was confirm his friends and foes at this school. He started by locating the one person he had already communicated with, and knew at least a little bit about. He quickly spotted her, began to use his power for the first time since joining the train ride. <Thalia, I need to speak with you privately. After this meeting is over, meet me in room 113. If you feel doing so would be unwise on your part, let me fill you in on some information. I know about your power.> He said, not out loud, but through projecting his voice through his thoughts, directly into Thalia's mind. He then walked out the door, and headed back to his room. He sat on the bed, and started to stare out the window, waiting for his guest to arrive.
  13. Daniel's eyes shot open, and he quickly raised his head, hitting in on the slightly lower than normal ceiling in the process. He switched to a sitting position on the edge of the bed, rubbing his head. As the pain from the resulting smack faded, it was replaced with curiosity. <How did I end up back here?> He thought, trying to remember anything from the dinner, with no luck. After sitting still for a couple minutes, with no memory of the preceding events, and no desire to go back to sleep, he decided to get up and walk around. He stood up, and immediately felt a throbbing pain in his head. Grimacing and grabbing his head again, he stumbled forward, leaning on the door for support. When the pain had dispersed, he gathered himself together and opened the door, heading towards the sitting room. He was about to open the partition and walk inside when he saw people standing inside. Not wanting to bump into them, he started to turn and head in the opposite direction, when he heard one call out a name. It was muffled through the partition door, but Daniel could still make it out. "Luce" it had said. Catching his attention, he went back up to the door, cracking it as slowly and quietly as he could, and put his hear up to the crack, hoping to hear something valuable. As he leaned down, his head began to throb again, but not as severely. <I better be careful. One quick move and I could wind up unconscious.>
  14. Anyone got Draw Something and wanna play?

  15. Daniel was slightly confused at the sudden influx of people, but quickly pushed it aside as he realized his corner spot was working. Barely anyone saw him, sitting quietly in the corner, so he turned his head to look out the window. As he was looking out the window, he felt the seat bounce, as someone sat beside him. He heard Thalia's voice, and turned to see her right next to him, asking him a question. At her words, the gears in his head began turning again. This whole situation was seriously starting to turn up multiple flags in his head. I know this can't be a complete coincidence. First the unknown school's acceptance letter, then the large gathering of somewhat shady people, the attendants knowing our names, and now this? Daniel dismissed it one last time, hoping it was nothing more than a huge huge coincidence, but he wasn't confident. "Nope." He responded. "I guess I was lucky. I got in here on my own, then start to see everyone being forced inside." He smiled at Thalia, his mood lightening. "At least I got a good seat!" He said, jokingly.
  16. Daniel walked onto the train, letting his briefcase leave his possession as it was taken by one of the attendants. He made his way to one of the cabs, room 113, and looked inside. It was very plain and vacant, having only one accessory, which was the shade on the window. Not wanting to spend too much time looking at the same, placid room, he began to walk down the corridor of the train, hoping to find something with a bit more to it. He had reached the end of the car, and was about to walk through the partition, when he heard the sound of music, originating from the room to his right. The door was cracked open slightly, allowing the sound to escape, which, had the door not been cracked, Daniel probably wouldn't have heard it in the first place, as it was sort of quiet. He looked at the room number, 117, making note of where it was. Daniel had always had a liking to listening to music, and if there was someone going to this school that could play, he'd be happy to listen sometime, just not at the current moment. He kept on, through the partition, into the next car, which was full of nothing but seats. Being a slight bit more colorful than the sleeper rooms, he sat down, choosing a seat in the corner, facing the other side of the car. He wanted to be able to see those that walked in before being seen himself. It also provided a bit of a quick exit plan, if need be.
  17. Daniel was about to accept the emo looking kids proposition of an introduction, when the train for Renly Academy pulled up to the station. He listened as the woman, Ms. Frey, relayed instructions. The thought of leaving his empty briefcase with someone else didn't really bother him, as it was, well, empty. He followed Thalia as she stepped towards the train, overhearing the woman as she said Thalia's name. <Strange. They already know our names.> He began to think, before chuckling at his own idiocy. <They probably just looked at the list of students, possibly with pictures. How else would they have known who to address the letters to?> He noticed that the boy with the notebook was right behind him, so, in lieu of before, he turned, holding out his hand, and began an introduction. "Daniel. And you are?" He said, trying to sound slightly more friendly than he would on a different occasion. He normally didn't bother to start introductions like this, but Daniel figured that the quicker he knew everyone's name, the better. It would also make things a bit less confusing down the line, both literally and metaphorically.
  18. Chancy thought about Storm's question. She hadn't really thought about it much herself, so she really didn't know. "I suppose I'll just wander, flutter here and there, seeing if I can put my skills to good use in the areas I visit." She turned her head away, pretending to adjust something in the saddlebags, and thought <If only she knew the truth, she wouldn't dare ever trust anyone again.>
  19. BANNED BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THE INTERNET IF I DRINK BLEACH I'LL BECOME POPULAR. too soon?
  20. Daniel looked up as he heard a voice. The boy with the notebook had left his spot, and walked up to start a conversation. Standing a few inches taller than Daniel, he would normally make a somewhat intimidating appearance, but his pale skin and dark clothes made him look more like an emo/goth mix than an intimidating figure. Not to mention he probably spent most of his free time drawing in his notebook. Normally Daniel wouldn't like talking to someone with such an appearance, but seeing as how he completely shut down the snotty, preppy one, it might not be a bad idea to start. Daniel made a split second decision, deciding that it would be better to start earning his trust than to immediately be rude. "Yeah. Not entirely sure why though. Didn't think I qualified for a school of this type." As Daniel talked, he studied the stance and posture of the boy. <Judging from the way he's standing, I think he just wants to talk anyways, not cause trouble. But I wanted to be sure, as something about him throws me off slightly. I Just can't figure out what.>
  21. "Well, that's convenient, isn't it?" Daniel asked, slightly surprised at how quickly his question was answered. <Also slightly weird. True, it might have been a major coincidence, but getting a random letter from an unheard school with a free ride, then having the question of the train answered immediately? It was almost.... Magical.> Daniel dismissed the thought, trying not to think about the matter. But the more he thought about it, the more it made sense. Though, that being the case, it would mean that every person on the platform would have a power. He shuddered at the thought. The idea of a school for those with magical talents sounded dangerous. Multiple people with multiple powers cooped up on one island? Not good. His thoughts were interrupted by an outburst of anger, emanating from one of the girls on the platform. He watched as she stormed away from a group of two, whom had apparently offended her quite badly. He quickly pushed the distraction from his mind. Turning to Thalia, he began to try to start up another conversation, hoping to take his mind of his earlier suspicions even more. "So, i'm guessing from your appearance you've lived on the street for most of your life?"
  22. "Well I see no reason to bring forth my reasons, if you aren't giving yours immediately." Daniel said, smirking back in compliance. <Though to be honest, I don't have any idea why I'd be accepted. I'm not exactly artsy, sportsy, or smartsy.> Daniel tried not to think too much about it, however, as he didn't want to accidentally project something. It didn't happen always, but sometimes, if he got too excited or confused, he'd accidentally bring forth his thoughts into picture. The last time it had happened, it resulted in him being kicked out of his fifth foster home for being 'Ungodly, a Demon.' As Daniel finished his train of thought, he looked up to see the higher-class girl stride over to one of the new arrivals, someone Daniel had failed to see at first. He carefully watched as she started to strike up a conversation. He couldn't hear their words, but he could tell that she was interested, or, feigning interest, in the arrival's drawings. Daniel started to chuckle slightly as the arrival put the notebook away, stood up, and shut her down. <Sometimes it's good to see the snobby get run over.> Turning his attention back to Thalia, he asked "Did you happen to get a watch or something from that guy earlier? It feels like we should've boarded by now."
