I think I've seen that forum too (if it's the same one), but it doesn't have much activity these days. And talking about MLP in Finnish would be pretty difficult for me, as I only watch the show in English. I can't imagine using words like "söpöysmerkki".

I've heard of those conventions too. From what I've seen, they tend to be quite small-scale. There was Crystal Fair but that seems to have been a one-off (and it was years before I became a brony).

Exactly my reasoning, somehow Finnish makes the show sound so much more childish. One thing also is that it sounds so weird when they speak Finnish, but the names are still English, because mixing the two languages in speech just doesn't sound good

Yeah, and I think they try to pronounce the names too well, really aspirating Pinkie Pie for example. I saw a clip of Equestria Girls in Finnish a while ago, and it made me cringe for the very reason you mentioned. I doubt bronies would exist if the original sounded like that!
