  1. I just read the third book...and it really made me remember why I prefer books and other text based stories more than movies, now mild spoilers

    Spoiler

In movies when someone dies and their lover goes next to them as they die in their hands, it has lost it's charm because I have seen it so many times, but in this book, in this dam book....I have never hated a fictional villain this much, nor have I ever felt this bad for a character before, just the detail it was written in, every emotion and thought the character went through, I could feel the change from relief to horror when it was realized what happened. God damn.

The ending made want to read the next 2 books (i can't get the 5th yet, i only have the 4th), I wanna see the main character going forward, for first time ever, I root for a fictional character, because I can't just think "they are one of the main characters" anymore.

I understand that... :kindness: I guess it's in some way comparable to what I've experienced with MLP.

When I started watching, I have to say the way the series depicted friendship was a little bittersweet, considering my experiences until then with friendship... :derp: "No Second Prances" especially – I could relate so much to Starlight and Trixie (especially the former)... And any episode where a character achieves something notable (like the CMC one you mentioned), undergoes a change, and also some others like Cranky's story in "A Friend in Deed" (I've seen at least three times and it's just as effective every time) have that effect.

Grimdarks – that's something I've avoided so far, I enjoy MLP just in its normal, upbeat version. :P

I have little inner sadistic inside me so I find myself listening them now and then (I also love creepypastas :P )

There's nothing wrong with enjoying that. :P For me, it's just that MLP is one of the very few shows these days (maybe an exaggeration but anyway...) without graphic violence and such content, so I'd watch some other shows if I wanted to see that.
