@Simply Cerberus Well, you said that they have a knack for seeing and collecting shiny things right? You could try putting a description of their body or mane color into the first part. If not, the only other ideas I have are these: Night or keen. But keen sounds a bit weird maybe?

Using appearance, personality and talent is how I have always made the names (with help of synonyms.) but now the first thing that come to mind don't fit (it being Crimson Shine), and yeah, Keen Shine sounds bit weird and Night doesn't describe her. (she's slightly red-ish grey mare with red mane and tail and amber-ish eyes, and cutiemark is just a shining diamond (simple cutiemark has it's reasons))

Of course the later word doesn't need to be Shine, it's just the first thing that came to mind.

Wow, that's fast! I think Crimson Shine sounds cool, but if it doesn't fit the character, then that doesn't really matter...
