Building with thatch isn't really recommended because almost everything can break down thatch structures XD

Minimum stone buildings are usually ideal :3

There are no stone beds, you pretty much make the leap from thatch bed to metal bed. But wood and stone usually come before that. Wood is more availble and easier to obtain, stone is heavier and requires you to invest a bit into weight before hand.
