  1. I'd keep revisiting, same with all my computer games and Star Trek episodes. A nice comfy world to visit.
  2. The best message is that the whole thing is irrelevant. Plus, all talk of LGBT and "agendas" etc implies that it would be an issue to depict - as if a same-sex romance would be wrong for children to see in a cartoon. Why exactly? As for Rainbow Dash, she's a tomboy and the rest is undetermined. It's the fans that have corrupted everything and demand that every character is potentially shipping every other - which is essentially complete emotional projection. In my search for decent MLP concept art, you have to wade through the endless same-sex shipping pictures and Rainbow Dash gets a truckload of it. I wouldn't have an issue either way if the writers wanted to expand and make a storyline out of it. The irritating thing would be the battle-cry from fans who would demand RD is straight because it's a personal issue for them.
  3. Twilight and Sweetie Belle look so adorable in that height chart.
  4. The most interesting scale observation is that their eyes are larger than your entire hand span.
  5. Fluttershy on her quest for self-confidence. Also feel sympathy for Apple Bloom who's concerned about where she fits in and her future path / cutie-mark.
  6. Applejack: "Apple Bloom, now y'us maht be wondrin bout your ma....truth is, ah'm your sis AND your ma, that's how it goes in apple country" Scootaloo: "Wow those ponies look real small from up here" Twilight: "Look Celestia I'll level with you, I can't even read!" Rarity: "I love you Spike!"
  7. I hate any attempt to make the characters 'humanised', and Equestria Girls is not canon. Popular to some, unpopular to others.
  8. It has depth, it's funny, the characters are interesting, and great fun to watch. Plus as a 29 year old male, I realised that worrying about whether something is sufficiently 'grown up' to watch just sucks all the fun out of life, which I swear society tries to do. This show makes me laugh. Plus, it has such a creative and tolerant community which is awesome.
  9. I hate how school tried to teach me there was only one kind of smart....book-smart. Everyone is told to be a "Twilight Sparkle" and absorb factual information that others have written. Not to criticise Twilight's character, but her friends show more dynamism, creativity, intuition and improvisational thinking. Pinkie Pie is not unintelligent. Ironically she is probably the sharpest of all of them. Twilight is more of a mediator and likes rules. It's a shame though that schoolteachers (having made a career out of recycling old knowledge) always pull the chair out for the bookworms, and the shy, hyperactive or athletic ones are perceived as having less value even though they likely have the entrepreneurial flare to succeed.
  10. Pinkie Pie can teleport, but chooses not to tell anyone in order to maintain her grand standing as the ultimate surprise party planner. That's why nobody can ever escape her when she needs something, be it wanting an explanation or to apologise for something. Even Rainbow Dash who practically breaks the sound barrier and soars over rough terrain can't escape. That's my theory anyway. Deffo, I swear Pinkie Pie is way smarter than people think. The reason she's hyperactive is because her brain constantly does overtime, and she only looks silly because she over-thinks things.
  11. It constantly changes depending on the episodes I'm watching. Probably Fluttershy or the Cutie-Mark Crusaders. Rarity I find the funniest. Pinkie Pie can be endearing.
  12. I loved this episode. I swear some people over-analyse these episodes so much they give themselves high blood pressure, then release it online. I have only one thing to say to such people.... 99 BUCKETS OF OATS ON THE WALL!!!!, 99 BUCKETS OF OATS!!!
  13. Depends if she outgrows her love of status and wealth, through shared experiences with her friends and the wisdom that comes with it.
  14. The problem with Diamond Tiara is that she's the only character that is openly malicious i.e. she doesn't just want to defeat or succeed over people, she wants to enjoy watching them fail. Picking on Scootaloo about her wings was very cruel. Not sure if there is a cure for her narcissism, until she gets a massive dose of reality outside the rich bubble of inherited wealth she enjoys. The irony is that her thirst for superiority over others makes her a constant failure in every competitive endeavour she attempts alongside her class. If you think the Mane Six and many of the residents of Ponyville represent "sugary saps", you clearly haven't been watching the show. Diamond Tiara represents ignorance and desperation, she's hardly a model of self-acceptance and confidence. Leeching off others approval and attempting to manufacture triumph by sabotaging their efforts certainly doesn't show she's defined herself.
  15. Well given how supremely arrogant they were, they were already stupid enough to let the entire Mane Six help out thinking it wouldn't affect the race, they probably thought their low-quality mush cider would make the grade. Besides, if the whole plot fails, I doubt the locals would have accepted them for long - they all seemed annoyed how the Apple family might lose their home. I think the message was the less love put into something, the cheaper it becomes. In their case, grounding up entire trees and rocks whilst picking the apples.
  16. I don't over-analyse this episode because it's deliberately crazy. The idea that even the delicate Fluttershy would chomp down on the cake is hard to believe - but I suppose if it tasted good enough. Shows Applejack living up to her element though by having nothing to do with it.... I love how they have overnight/sleep trains in Equestria, I find that awesome for some reason.
  17. "What did you do...what did you dooo!!!" Laughed so much. I love Rarity's reactions. I disagree since you're modeling SB's behaviour like she's a responsible adult, when in fact she's a child seeking both approval and attention. She messes with Rarity's things out of good intentions, and since SB is a child, concepts such as business responsibility and privacy go over her head. At the end, the piece of art SB made showed she was just trying to make her sister happy, and the whole message behind the story was that even though SB was technically in the wrong, an older sibling needs to be understanding and caring rather than aggressive. I think it was a very nice episode and nice character growth for Rarity.
  18. Both Spike and Rarity do potentially have a lot in common, except Spike is smitten and a child in Rarity's eyes. No idea how Spike's life cycle works, but if he's forever a kid without his own treasure horde, looks like he's out of luck on the Rarity front - since the advice to Spike would probably be to age a few years and then blow away the competition with dragon smoke.
  19. I like how they serve up the horrible mass-produced cider at the end, and you know it's ghastly before they even drink it - "mine has rocks in it"!!! Good moral message to the story as well, the cider is nowhere near as important as to how the farm is the centre of gravity for the Ponyville community. Also, mass-produced stuff tastes awful even if it is quick and cheap.
  20. I liked how Fancypants was so accepting of Rarity's friends - perhaps shows that his fair-mindedness has paid off. You get two kind of upper-class types: snobs and successes. I think given enough time with the Mane Six, Rarity would eventually see through the façade of Canterlot high society: a gold-plated cage of social conformity and hollow expectation. I get the impression that Princess Celestia is quietly reluctant to take part in it as well, given how she called the Grand Galloping Gala a constant bore. Applejacks fritters > garden party hors d'oeuvres
  21. I don't think Pinkie Pie is truly the happiest. She is a complete hedonist and really content with her friends amongst her, but she does fear rejection. Fluttershy probably would be the happiest if everyone was like Fluttershy (not that she'd ever admit it) but she does seem almost one with nature. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Rarity are more competitive, and are happy when things are going their way in terms of goals and ambitions. All in all, I'd say Fluttershy has the greatest potential for happiness, when she's alone or with small groups, because she's made peace with the world.
  22. Rainbow Dash stomps on gender roles. The whole show opposes gender roles and practically makes a mockery out of them, by showing that you can have 6 female characters with completely distinct personalities and interests, and they're all great friends.
  23. Everyone has a moment where they feel they don't recognize themselves in bad things they say. If I was to get in deep about it, I'd say Fluttershy has a passive irritation with aspects of Pinkie Pie's and Rarity's personality and it came to a boil. Her sweet nature makes her easy to forgive though, shown by the fact the other two stood outside her house worrying about her. It shows real unconditional affection.
