    Cat scratched the dog's eye. It already scratched their face's so it was inevitable my mom's cat would hit something of value given enough attempts. I already said she should get it declawed, but she doesn't like my 'negativity'.

      Oh right, I see now. The recovery period at least would hurt quite a bit.

      Cats that have been declawed experience pain when stepping on litter, especially, which can lead to "deposits" outside of the litterbox. Most owners end up misunderstanding this and will often punish the cat, which is pointless. There is really no way to fix the problem other than to try and use softer litter, but the trauma is still always there.

      So in conclusion, declawing a cat causes more harm than it does good.
