Think I remember Cracked on YouTube talking about it, like if you die fifteen minutes-worth of work away from where you last saved, you get set back & everything just respawns on you again. Sounds brutal. Think Game Grumps did a run of it & that oughta be hilarious!
hm the comments say the blood vials get dirt cheap later into the game, so i guess thats why they say overall they think DS was harder than BB, but maybe they got trained playing DS so couldnt notice the difficulty difference as much
