Still alive, just sick. RP replies are... forthcoming.

So I've tried to draw a human portrait, for a change. The result was... predictably bad, but if I put some actual effort into it, I probably could get some understanding of a comic book style portrait drawing. Because let's face it, I won't draw just ponies forever.

I checked the time, and it said it's drawing time!
By which I mean I don't want to play any games, and Netflix is just daunting with all the Star Trek (I have a trek phase) it holds so... I'll just doodle for some time. Yeah. maybe do some overdue requests, who knows.
-
All in all, gauging from the opening 2 parter, the upcoming season of pony appears to be quite... different, but also potentially interesting, due to the introduction of new characters. While I do enjoy the calm periods of hiatus, I am looking forward to new pony.
-
So, I've got myself a Netflix account and I'm binge watching whatever catches my interest. Starting from Judge Dredd and Ender's Game. But there's soo much to watch... I think I will need to ditch games to sate my need for quality films.

It's finally Friday evening, time to do some art stuff, listen to some proper rock and watch some videos if people inking on YT.
-
Lately, I've been thinking about getting back to roleplaying in here, even though, I don't have any solid ideas on the setting and overall genres I could re-engage into. Still, I would probably custom make any OC's for these selected rps rather than try and stuff in a pre-made one so, the flexibility is there.

First notable fail in my current workplace, and of course it's something that may determine whether I will keep working there. So, yeah, art requests will be delayed till weekend while I try and put my hatred towards the whole world back to manageable levels.
-
Just a quick ink of my OC Natural Order. Not my best work but, you know, practice and so on.
-
Watching videos like this one makes me acutely realise just how big of a pen and ink noob I am... Still, I find it inspiring and sometimes I am able to pick up something and try to incoroprate it in my own drawings.

A fudged request sketch turned into an original piece to test a new technique - pencil greyscale. So how does that look, worth putting several hours into it?
-
I tlooks... slightly better on paper, but if I were to keep trying with this method, then over time my tones would become more consistent and less patchy. I'm just curious whether it looks better than just inked lineart or not really, since it is a serious time investment, as well asderailment from a skill I will eventualy need to learn anyway - ink wash.
-
It appears that my request shop has... reopened. Feel free to get some free art if you wish.

Stuff like this... It really inspires me to keep practicing and hope to improve. It also shows that the medium I chose can and does have potential to produce quality art. And while I tend to stray away from show style, these two prove that taking up more... "realistic" style can produce awesome results!
-
Indeed, the level of artistic intuition required to shade these pieces is insane. But the comic book style is one of the leading ones in own and ink art, and, frankly, I aim to go that route because I like it very much. Then all you need is add flat color with markers or watercolor paint and suddenly you have awesome colored art.
Also, notice the use of pencil for soft shades on the first one.

In other news - honestly the last piece for today - due to taking a short break from drawing, whatever skills I've aquired went to Hell. Wherever that is, but I digress. Learning your hand to do stuff anew is so not fun. But then, maaaybe I'll come up with a better style than last time?

Overwatch opens up for a free weekend, this weekend.
So you can Experience Tranquility while Justice rains from Above when it's High Noon! All the while when Heroes Never DIE DIE DIE!
...and then you get ganked by that ****ing Genji.

Apparently, today marks the first anniversary of me moving out to my own place. By which I mean a tiny rented apartment but, still. I haven't gone bankrupt, I don't base my diet on frozen pizza and such... all in all I did rather okay, I guess.
-
Yeah, I am totally playing Moira as a DPS with heals... But then, I am pretty good at it!
-
I'm trying to come up with a manestyle for my new character design, sort of a ponysona mascot for artwork and such. Crystal pony, mare, maybe longer back and some side swept front that's not a nightmare to draw. Still, my initial sketches look like Octavia after some mane styling experiments at best...

Sometimes, when I look at my profile and see the "Followers" tab... I feel like some cult leader.
-
Two people have my "art" on their avatars? That's... kinda motivating to actually pick that pen up and learn to draw better for once.
-
The one you did for @Stardust Balance I'm particularly fond of.
-
My company was hacked early in the morning today, so I spent 2 hours waiting for the green light from IT to actually start working. Thankfully the damage is not crippling and they found the entry point so, it wasn't a total disaster for once.

What to draw... when you don't know what to draw?
-
I miss that Star Trek roleplay. Shame it went straight into a Black Hole...
-
That's 5 scrapped sketches, and counting. Seems I can't produce anything remotely okay looking today...
