HOLY HAYBURGERS. I've been away for almost 3 years x: wow, what school can do. AND TO THINK ALL OF THE STUFF I DIDN'T GET TO DISCUSS WITH ANY OF YOU. I'm cry... Anyway, it is lovely to be back and look up some of the old posts, some of them being looooooooong epic soap opera roleplays. In fact, recently I've taken a liking to playing Pathfinder (kinda like Dungeons and Dragons), and I have had fun slaying ghosties and magical manacles.... yeah so I'm a beginner :T Also, I am glad to say that I finally found an awesome group of ponies in CA that brightened my day by not letting me be the lone flutter in a theater room. If any of you are reading this, I LOVE YOU ALL. A NEE WEI. Still gonna keep working on that Flutter Valley stuff. Love ya bros and sis' out there!

Mexican pegasister loves mexican dresses. That are mexican. So I went to theSan Diego Comic-Con and spent 2 full hours waiting in line at the Marvel booth for THIS baby right here. TOTALLY worth it. Lostcount of the brohoofs I gave and recieved, plus all the awesome bronies and non-bronies I met. Thanks all of you for adding an awesome detail to my awesome day!

Good afternoon, my beloved bronies who are actually reading this <3 I have been working for quite a while on this particular section, seeing as culture must be perhaps one of the most complicated parts of a society. I will be publishing only what I have worked on so far, and will be adding a few more things as they pop up in conversations or simply while having a muse attack. Very well. Here we go. Flutter Pony culture: HEAD OF THE HERD: Flutter ponies originally have little to no known traditions besides bringing good luck at the flap of a wing. We know the herd is run by a queen (whose name is Rosedust, in the series/movie). In my version, seeing as Equestria already has a queen, I have assigned the herd a group of five flutter ponies only known as The Elders. It is not necessary that they all must be old (although there should be at least one), but they are usually only males and must be assigned "by destiny".This last quote opens another chapter that refers to cutie marks, but it shall be adressed in time. Elders take the bigger decisions, lead and allow projects, and represent the Flutter community among the rest of Equestria. EDUCATION: Colts and fillies have a smiliar method of learning, with a teacher and a schoolhouse. Even so, most of their education comes from the family, where they learn the traits of the family business. CUTIE MARKS: A normal filly or colt earn their cutie mark the traditional way, which is by finding what makes them special or what they're good at. Usually the offspring of a baker gets a bread-related cutie mark, as a silversmith's colt could get a jewelry cutie mark. But unlike other cultures, it is an honor to be a blank flank at an older age. This could mean that his (or rarely her) destiny is becoming part of the Elders. ECONOMY: Like every other town in Equestria, their economy is based on gold bits. Nevertheless, they do operate by trade at their local Bargain Market, which is put at the middle of each season. Most businesses are run by a family and consist on simple rustic jobs: baking, agriculture, blacksmith, gardening, confectionary, jewelry, fabrics, among others. The strongest trade that goes past the valley is the wine (mainly Dragon Wine, which is the fermented juice of the oldest vines' grapes left to age with dragon fire-charred bones and certain dried flowers called jewelweed. This wine not only goes well with roasted parsnips, but also can detox and neutralize any poison within the body. ). FESTIVITIES AND RITUALS: There are many other little festivals that Flutter ponies have besides the tradional Equestrian celebrations (Winter Wrap Up, Hearth's Warming Eve, Summer Sunset Celebration, Hearts and Hooves day, The Running of the Leaves, etc). Most revolve around nature. Kopo Blossom Festival: A celebration made a few days after the wrapping of winter, on the first full moon, where all the roseapple trees' buds begin to open and display a lovely shower of tiny white petals. In this day the plaza is decorated with colorful stands selling toys, jewelry, and food, particularly a type of puff filled with roseapple cream used as a gift for a loved one. The cream puff gets lightly dusted by the baker's flutter dust, to bring "good luck" to the suitor. At night, the plaza and trees are lit up with small lanterns and candles, where games and dancing are scheduled, especially a haunting dance that young females perform under the light of the moon having airy sparkling ribbons made from gossamer tied to their tails and jewels woven into their manes. This was originally created as a type of "quinceañera", or to put it simple, to present the bachelorettes to the society. The Bargain market: A type of flea market/ farmer's market where merchants and farmers set up a stand at the plaza at the middle of each season. The difference between this and other markets in the year is that there is no money allowed. The only way to obtain a good is by trading it for another good. Non-merchants can also participate by trading anything of use, from a tin container to a land deed. Welcoming of the butterfly: This little event marks the beginning of summer, where certain butterflies flock into Flutter Valley. Certain vegetables and fruits are harvested and the local food is celebrated. Harvest of the Vines: One of the most important events of the year. This is when the grapes are ready for harvesting. Along with this autumn harvest also comes the collecting of other fruits and nuts such as apples, roseapples, pumpkins, walnuts, jewelweed, buckwheat, etc. The whole valley then becomes dressed in gold (not only because of the trees, but the town is also decorated with the color gold), and the celebration lasts an entire week. It is one of the most cheerful festivals of the year, but deeply not recommended for foreign ponies to come and celebrate*. Mating rituals: Anypony can ask any other pony to become their mate in any way, but formally the stallion must present the mare a string of exactly 12 precious gems, all of the same color, size and form (and as usually, the bigger the gems, the richer the suitor and bla bla bla). If the mare accepts, she will have to find a way to integrate the gems to her ceremonial attire. Flirting among flutter ponies is also particular. Don't take it the wrong way when a flutter does a little dance while zipping around you in a circle. It means you have deeply caught their attention. Weddings: Only an Elder can wed a couple inside Flutter Valley. The ceremony may take place wherever it is wanted, depending on the family's budget. An Elder's wedding is always celebrated in the plaza, where the streets and alleys are decorated with garlands of flowers, tables with food and beverage are put, and the whole community is allowed to assist. The bride has no strict way of dressing, with the exception of wearing the family's traditional headdress and the gems. The groom's attire may also consist on the fabrics of his choice. The ritual is nothing different from a normal Equestrian wedding. Birthdays and parties: Nothing new. Birthday cakes are usually honey-flavored. At the age of 16 springs, Flutter Ponies are technically mature. * The Harvest of Vines is a very dangerous event for a non-flutter pony. This cheery event hides a dark and gruesome tradition where the Elders choose what they call "the Gem". This unlucky colt or filly 16 springs or older has to accomplish the task of luring an unknowing pony to a cave not far from the Valley, where a legendary flightless dragon lives. They must irk the creature into breathing fire upon the clueless victim and quickly collect the charred bones that are left in place. These bones are used to make the Dragon Wine, and are the key ingredient to what makes the spirit so special. This tradition has been kept an airtight secret only among the winemakers of the valley and the Elders. Any type of rumor or gossip about the issue is immediately terminated. Alright, hunnies. It is an enourmous honor to recieve compliments from you, Zoop~ I truly appreciate your words. Yes, I have been waiting quite a while for FiM to add or make an allusion to flutter ponies, but I guess the closest they've gotten were the crystal ponies (although the wings Rarity had in "Sonic Rainboom" seemed like a nod towards them). MLPFiM has made interesting changes to the show though, and have much more sense and continuity than the previous generations, which usually only spoke of overly sweet or joyous issues. And OH thank God there are no more humans involved in this. Anyway, it would be nice if they took the time to develop a more complex story, similar to the way I want to do so, to flutter ponies if they decide to throw them in. Again, thank you. Hello, fellow bronies After that little intro, I think I should start by describing the original and my own version of a flutter pony~ Ok, first of all, here's a flutter pony. An original one. I'm sure I don't need to explain the characteristics of a G1 pony. I'll just point out the differences. G1 flutter ponies are smaller in size compared to a normal pony. Unlike an earth/unicorn/pegasus pony, flutters are thin and have a more delicate complexion. Their legs are longer and thinner. The snout is a bit smaller. Its whinnies (according to a Spanish version of the movie) have a higher pitch than normal whinnies Queen Rosedust (the leader of the flutter ponies) has a small version of her cutie mark on her cheek. (Some toys depict the same characteristic. E.g, Peach Blossom). Flutter ponies are mostly known fo their wings, which look like tiny transparent butterfly wings (and make a twinkling noise when they're beating) that disperse tiny shimmery sparkles called flutter dust. This dust is the only known cure for Smooze (a villain in the movie that causes anger and rudeness). The speed of the wingbeat is faster than that of a pegasus, similar to a butterfly. Also, these wings are useless when wet, and according to toy bacstories, the flutter of the wings brings good luck. Most are named after flowers and plants (there ARE exceptions, according to the toys) There are no known male flutter ponies (don't ask me how they reproduce. Osmosis? XD) Although meek, flutter ponies are hardy when fighting. Aaaand, here's my own version of a flutter pony, all G4'd: rosemead.bmp Like I said, I made a few twitches here and there to match my personal likes but still stick to the basics of what makes a flutter pony a flutter pony.These are the general characteristics: Just like G1, my version says of the same proportion to a normal pony: smaller, thinner, and with long legs. I gave her a hairdo. Most G1 flutter ponies in the show had a curly short mane. To keep a close resemblance, I picked her mane into a bun, which also has a reason. Even though her bangs are covering it, her forehead has 3 white dots. I did not wish to include the small cutie mark on her cheek, and instead gave her 3 freckles that are also characteristic in my Flutter Ponies. Cutie mark, as always. No difference here. The eyes are now almond-shaped. Just as crystal ponies have a different eye, flutters might as well have something different too. Shaped somewhat lik Rarity's minus the long lashes. Even males have this feature. The wings are bigger now, pointy and double (G1 had only a wing on each side), like a fairy. Males have single wings. Now instead of just simply "removing smooze", they gained a more complex explanation. These transparent wings are covered with shimering "dust", which is shed constantly and renews itself quickly. The dust, which are really minuscule scales, is a powerful antidote to any poison (making allusion to Smooze, as this purple goop is kinda like poison to the soul) with the exception of basilisk poison (unless it's made into dragon wine. Explanation will come in time). Also useless if wet. Every flutter family has a business. They are all named after anything related to it. Flutter dust is traditionally colorless. Only the "queen" has a different colored dust, which is gold (making allusion to pixies, although only kings create golden pixie dust). Their bones are lighter because they are slightly hollow. Female characteristics: Slightly smaller than males. Have a rounder and smaller snout. Their mane is traditionally picked up into any type of hairdo, usually a bun. Every family has a way of dressing up the females' mane. They are decorated elegantly in special events. The tail is abnormally long. They have a set of double wings that make a high-pitched faint bell-like sound when beating. Male characteristics: Bulky upon the chest and slightly bigger than females. Their legs start out thin but thicken slightly as they reach the hoof. Their snout is wider and square-ish. A single set of wings, which are longer and thinner, but equally strong, and beat as fast as a hummingbird's wings, making a faint low-pitched hum when beating. No restrictions on the tail or mane. So far that's about it, my pals :3 I'll start working on the next set of data~

Hello, everypony! (If anyone is actually reading this XD) Most of you know I have my ponysona based on a G1 pony species called the flutter pony (also my username), and ever since I began cooking up stories about her and the world around her. Seeing as G1 says or shows little about flutters, I felt free to invent their backstories to my own delight (but as I said, it's still a PERSONAL version). So I finally decided to type down my own version of Flutter Valley. For those who haven't read/heard of any information about any gen before this one, Flutter Valley is the homeplace of flutter ponies (such creative name, is it not?). It first appeared in the My Little Pony movie, and ever since they've shown it in a few episodes. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an expert XD just throwing the basics out there. Anyway, Flutter Valley isn't much more than a valley (no duh) filled with colorful and fragrant flowers, hiding the shy flutter ponies away from the rest of th world. Flutter ponies seem to avoid contact with the "outside world", and prefer to keep their existence in low profile. From what I've seen, they live in elegant and tall gazebo-like towers among the trees and bushes. They look different from normal ponies (which will be detailed later), and seem to work similar to a colony. The little I've seen so far from flutter ponies makes me think of traveling to another country, and it's quite fun to think up all the little details that could differ from a normal life in, say, Ponyville. So why not? It's a good way to kill time and begin using the old hamster wheel Again, I don't intend to claim Flutter Valley as my creation. It's all from Hasbro o-o I'm only the little writer in black sitting in the corner. This is just a depiction of how I imagine G4 Flutter Valley, you know, with a bit more logic, now that male ponies and manticores are the "norm" XD Thank chu for the time~ If you do follow my blog, lemme just say: I will go to your house and hug the living daylights out of you.
