  1. For mead, some sites will suggest just using a bland yeast food so as not to dilute the honey flavor, but I've noticed that the yeast food leaves a rather odd aftertaste. What I use when making straight mead and not a melomel is one orange and a couple of those tiny boxes of raisins. One would think citrus would stand out quite a bit in it, but it hardly dilutes the flavor, if at all. And even if it does it tastes pretty damn good. The raisins do nothing, that I have noticed, to the flavor. Do NOT use a grapefruit. I accidentally got one instead of an orange one time, said "fuck it" cause I didn't want to go back to the store, and used it. I was the only one who could drink it because I like grapefruit lol. Bonfire, booze, and blood. Also a lot of food. We eat, get drunk, then spar with each other. We've all become pretty good fighters because of it. Outside of my tribe and my father, I have never lost a fight. That's the party part though. We also make offerings to the gods. We do not burn them, however, like the experience @@Midnight Scribbler, had. We offer food and drink. To make an offering, we take it out to the woods away from the party and leave it on a rock. If it is eaten, then the offering is accepted. Protip: There are a lot of bears and coyotes where I live. Offerings are always accepted.
  2. We throw the best parties. That's one of my favorite parts. We all make our own mead and take them to the celebrations. We compare recipes and compete to see who's is the favorite. I had the best only once so far. It was for last midsummer and it was a black cherry melomel that came out far better than expected.
  3. Alright. I'll give it a shot. I am optimistic because I see the overton window shifting away from politically correct censorship, big government, and demographically suicidal "multiculturalism", going back to freedom of speech, individual rights, and nationalism. The ways of the liberal progressives have been tried and found wanting. Something new is on the horizon, for better or for worse.
  4. It's up to you to discover. Mine could not be confused as a dream, as it was the result of a sorcery. Dropping the pagan language, what I mean is I smoked DMT and left the known fucking universe. It was very much real, to me at least.
  5. Not a fan. I smoke cigarettes, and will chew if I'm out and someone offers because " any port in a storm." Did it once and won't do it again.
  6. Odinist here. I follow the old ways a little more strictly than others, I have noticed. Mostly by adhering to the noble virtues and observing holidays in the traditional manner. Which is more often than not drinking, fighting, and feasting. Usually in that order. I also make time to go into nature for meditation in order to be closer to the gods.
  7. I have about 5 close friends who I go out and do shit with, as well as a couple of drinking buddies who I have a few beers with after work before heading home.
  8. Vidya, hiking, camping, guns, literature(philosophical, economic, and political), and music (classical, instrumentals, and hymns). A lot of other things that I enjoy as well, but not enough to consider them hobbies.
  9. So kind of like a feminist secession movement? Tell me more please. Also the idea of humanity being initially spawned from inbreeding explains a lot tbh.
  10. Answering questions in the order received. No and no to the first two. I would consider myself almost an antithesis to them. As in personally, no. Wrong, but with the addendum that a broken clock is right twice a day. Crazy is the wrong word. They are extremists. Zealots who are slowly taking identitarian politics to its logical conclusion. I don't hold a very high opinion of them.
  11. I really enjoy the movies. I grew up reading comic books and I think that MOST of the movies have done a fairly good job keeping to them. That being said, its about as accurate a portrayal of the Norse gods as this is of Jesus Christ. But still, the movies are enjoyable.
  12. I am cautiously optimistic about the future. I would tell you why, but Best Country said that he does not want this to turn into a debate thread.
  13. I live in Central California in the Fresno area. Pls send water.
  14. I would prefer the country, but would want it to be within an hour of a decent sized city. Endgame will be my own farm where I can become completely self-sufficient.
  15. I honestly can't answer the question. I have no idea. With as far as people like Hawking have gone with discovering the origin of the universe, it just seems unlikely that the existence of a God could ever be completely 100% disproven. I've seen Hawkings work on this issue. He himself states that, while he can prove that God isn't required for the creation of the universe, he can not disprove his existence. Out of curiosity, if you were religious, how would you answer this question? Aquinas was a philosopher, and this brand of logic was part of his philosophical work. But, semantics. It's neither here nor there. Funny how things work out differently than planned.
  16. Odinist here. I'll take your challenge. Does not apply. One of the greatest differences between monotheistic theologies and polytheistic ones is that, in the former, God is generally all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving, etc. Polytheistic gods are none of these things; like any human, tree, or hawk, they are limited by their particularity. For Odin, any kind of limitation is something to be overcome by any means necessary, and his actions are carried out within the context of a relentless and ruthless quest for more wisdom, more knowledge, and more power, usually of a magical sort. I don't. It's all largely irrelevant to us. Be you devout Jesus freak or a Fedora enthusiast, you'll get what you deserve in the end, based on how you lived your life. I have a pic that will answer this question. That is the very reason that I do not go along with the Abrahamic meme. Mine is all about how you personally interpret it. In fact, many would argue that it isn't a religion at all. That discovery would actually be very hard to make, if it is based off of what God could be based on the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas. Complete idiocy. It's the reason why many nations around the world are third world, authoritarian shit holes. Most of these questions seemed to be designed around monotheism, but this was fun either way.
  17. Is your surname by chance Sandoval? You look almost exactly like a guy I work with. Only a few minor differences. You could easily be his brother.
  18. A crime might be worth it. I would probably do some jail time if I got piss drunk and threw up on Hillary Clinton, but that would be worth it. Because I would be the guy who threw up on Hillary Clinton.
  19. I made a very detailed shitpost on /mlp/ comparing Twilight Sparkle to Monica Lewinsky. Someone responded to my thread with this pic. Thread went to 400 replies and I got banned. It was a good day.
  20. Funny that I see this thread now. Work in progress. Taking a smoke break right now.
  21. I honor the gods of the Northmen. Not really religious though. It's more of a cultural thing. I wear a mjolnir pendant and getting something more permanent right now actually. Took it 5 minutes ago during our smoke break. Looks weird because of the angle, but it's good.
  22. No, but I have a weird think where I'll sleepwalk to the fridge, slug a beer, then lie back down. Wife says it happens at least once a week. I have a serious problem lol.
  23. There's your problem right there. The original is much better. I recommend giving that a shot.
  24. Nah. Unfortunate as it is, I've found that that's a great way to have your opinions immediately disregarded. I've tested this too. I spent one week in YouTube comments with a pony avatar and received a majority of "Fuck off Brony." The next week I set my profile picture as Hitler and most everyone was more than happy to engage with me. Make of that what you will.
  25. I was under the impression that forums are primarily to be used as time sinks, although they can be good for networking in some cases. I'm sure there are artists and other such people who have met others who helped to improve their craft. Talk to people, make friends, and have fun. Talked to people, made friends, and had fun. Also pissed people off with my socioeconomic views. You should see some of the vitriolic things people have PMed me lol. Don't tell me what to do. It's the Venus Flytrap. Other flowers just sit there and look pretty. The flytrap is all like "Screw that. I'm gonna devour the flesh of weaker creatures." It's the most metal of the flowers.
