The whole shooter thing did kinda come out of nowhere and the way it has been drummed up by the media, it really does seem like they want it to happen. What could be better for them than an even bigger actual headline portraying tragedy and horror. They could generate loads off of it if it actually happened.

In 500 years, when our descendants dig up the ashes of our civilization, they will look back at us and think, “Wow. They deserved those famines and pandemics.”

@Nsxile Two things can be bad at once m8.
-
@Nsxile and "everyday killing and tortures" has everything to do with this discussion. Yes they're a thing, but they have no relevancy here.

@Twiggy it is also possible for one thing to be objectively worse than the other, and the stuff I mentioned above are massively worse to any sane person. It can also be argued that porn doesn't cause any actual harm and provides an overall benefit by letting people act out their innate biological desires without contracting an STD and potentially spreading it further.
@Angus Delaney Sorry, but the statement 'In 500 years, when our descendants dig up the ashes of our civilization, they will look back at us and think, “Wow. They deserved those famines and pandemics.”' is basically saying because of porn, we deserve to suffer. What I'm saying in response to that is; 'Really? Humans commit a variety of actual crimes and atrocities, yet porn is the absolute worst thing you could think of for commending us?' I'm afraid, in that context, it is absolutely relevant.

Friendly reminder.
Sure we should use solar as well, but I won’t stop harping on this until I stop seeing people promote policies to address climate change that exclude nuclear power.

Here we go on immigration at the Dem Debate. Prepare for 10 variations on Koch bros labor policy rationalized by reference to Saturday morning cartoon morality.

Yang just enticed millions of people to go check out his website and policies with the opportunity to receive $12,000. The only thing I can think of that would be more persuasive than $12,000 would be a larger sum of money.

As a counter to the "fuck statists" comment earlier...
Teacher: Where is Rome?
Me: In my heart.

I started vaping when I quit smoking because I still couldn't cope without nicotine. Vaping, as cringe as some make it out to be, is far better than cigarettes. And now the Trump administration is looking to ban it. While I've wavered back and forth from Trump when he's done things I like vs. things I hate, this affects me in a majorly negative way, even if the ban is only temporary until the FDA approves of things. Because who knows how long that could take.
I hereby decree that Trump is now cringe. Fuck statists.

I've greatly enjoyed this past week in World of Warcraft. Both for the game and the salt.
Race to 60 winner: Pserver player Jokerd. Method fanboys BTFO.
Ragnaros world first: Pserver guild <APES> (did a few pugs with them on ND cool dudes). Method fanboys BTFO.
Onyxia world first: Also <APES>. Do I even need to say it?
It's been a good week in Azeroth, my dudes.

Hate to spam status but it's also worth noting that Benji is starting to wake up to the Boomer Question.

I seriously think Biden may be in the early stages of Alzheimers.
-
Adding Biden as my third choice for who I hope wins the primary. Seriously. Imagine the debates between him and Trump.

@Twiggy If he wins the primary, though, Trump is DEFINITELY winning the election. The guy can't finish sentences, and he has no substance whatsoever in anything he actually says.
Personally, Biden is probably my fourth least favorite candidate that's still in the race, counting Republicans. I think Bet on my Stork (Beto), Ms racist pretending she's black (when she actually isn't), and the Stump (him especially) are worse yet.

I wasn't anywhere near good enough at the game to do anything with Iceland, but this guy is.

Being realistic while it would probably be a lot more complicated that just outright buying the island, it wouldn’t be the worst deal for them. The Danes have had some financial issues in supporting the territory and the US, being closer and having more resources, could greatly improve the infrastructure and economy of the island if it were to be annexed. For those that don’t like Trump, he won’t be president forever, but being a part of the US would be far more long term.
It’s also of strategic value to us as long range radar placed there could reach thousands of miles into Russia, not to mention all that arctic oil and finally having Canada properly encircled.
Of course the biggest caveat would be that the people of Greenland would need to agree (they are at least semi-autonomous) but if they did I would support this move. It’s easy to blow it off as orange moron spouting nonsense, but it seems like it would be a mutually beneficial deal if possible.
-
Greenland also has gold, so there is also a potential to establish a lot of gold mines.
I doubt the people of Greenland would look very favorably at joining up with the US, considering with their struggle of independence. I would have said sure, maybe 50 years ago, the people there would be more open to it, but if we just look from an ideological perspective, they are very much on the left and I doubt the idea of joining up with the US would sound appealing to them, especially when it comes to whether they would be recognized as a new state or if they would just be a powerless territory.
Also, if one takes a look at all the political parties in Greenland, 4 out of 7 of the parties aim for independence and the other three who do not hold 9 seats against the others who hold 22 seats.
Currently, the pro-independence parties are fine with being still part of Denmark so long as they can continue sucking money towards them until they feel ready to go on their own. But if it came to it, I think they would rather go the independent route rather than joining up with the US.
But hey, we will see. Crazy shit is going on in Hong Kong. If UK (or even the US) can somehow get Hong Kong (back), I bet it should be possible for the US to nab Greenland.
Of course I will be sitting in my small corner in Iceland holding my fish close to me, terrified, as yet another giant encroaches upon my country's territory~
