  1. As a Red Dwarf fan, it was great to find out that one of my favourite reviewers watched the show, when Silver Quill showed a clip from the show in his Amending Fences supplement video. Re-watching that video today, I started wondering which Red Dwarf character would best suit Silver Quill if he were ever to dress up as one of them, which got me thinking on what Bronies would fill in the other roles. I came up with: - Silver Quill = Arnold Rimmer - Firebrand = Dave Lister - Toon Kritic = Cat - ILoveKimPossibleAlot = Holly - Dr Wolf = Kryten - Ink Rose = Kristine Kochanski But those are just the reviewers that I've had experience with. So, my question to my fellow Red Dwarf fans is, which Bronies do you think match the Red Dwarf crew best?
  2. Most of the time, I watch reviewers like Silver Quill to be entertained rather than actual critical thought on the show, his opinion on something could be the same but if his comedy and timing wasn't the same then I wouldn't be subscribed to his channel.
  3. I was tempted to make a poll, but then I realised just how many Brony reviewers and analysts are out there, I'd probably end up missing some off which would not make some ponies happy and even then, the poll would be huge.
  4. With so many out there to choose from, everypony's going to have somepony different as their favourite or favourites. So which is yours. For me, it's Silver Quill with Commander Firebrand in second. The Mysterious Mr Enter may have gotten me into this fandom, but it's those two who got me to stay with the comedy and effort that they put into their videos.
  5. It's no secret that the show favours hasty reformations for villains and antagonists, and most of the time those times the reformation is handled really badly. So, I'm asking a question that many have no doubt asked already, which reformation is the worst? And if you want, explain why. I'm putting human Twilight and Luna on there, even though it wasn't actually them doing the bad things, just to be safe. For me personally, I'd say Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon. With the other characters we didn't have seasons worth of material to hate them with, and then Diamond Tiara is suddenly forgiven and everything is blamed on her out of nowhere mother.
  6. If I'm being all that truthful, I don't like the show that much. Don't get me wrong, I can see the show is good and can have great episodes, it's just not the sort of show I would watch above others. The only reason I started watching the show was so I knew what everypony was talking about in the fandom, and so I could have more enjoyment when watching analyst ponies reviews on the episodes. I got into this fandom through the Mysterious Mr Enter's reviews, which led me to finally checking out the show, which led to me checking out other pony reviewers such as Firebrand and Silver Quill. And it is because of these reviewers that I'm still watching the show, if it wasn't for the comedy and effort of reviewers like Silver Quill and Firebrand I probably would have lost interest in the show and stopped watching, but I continue to watch so I can get more enjoyment and understanding out of their reviews.
  7. The show is for little girls and called Friendship is Magic, so it's fairly obvious that they'll prefer to redeem the antagonists and villains rather than continuously fight them. But, the problem comes in when they do reform the characters, the reformations are so rushed and sloppy, and it's the same for every one of them except for maybe Gilda. And the worst of these cases is Diamond Tiara, we've had to put up with over four seasons with her acting like a b****, and then they suddenly pull a 'sympathetic' story from nowhere so we feel sorry for her and forgive her for what she's done. With the other reformed characters we only see them in one episode, two parter or movie before they're getting reformed the next time we see them, not over four seasons worth of time to build up enough hate to want to burn them at the stake.
  8. Maybe G5 can have roots leading back to G4, like they take place in the same universe but just with a different cast and at a different point in time. You mentioned Avatar, it could be like how they added Legend of Kora.
  9. I've heard theories going around that other ponies could have taken the Mane 6's place as defenders of Equestria but weren't as successful as the Mane 6 in getting things done.
  10. From what I've seen of her in the show, I don't think she has any mental problems. She's just been shown to be easily distracted and very clumsy, but since she has a lazy eye somehow is seen as having problems by many people.
  11. Not that long ago I watched a video by Lily Peet called Down with Celestia, in it he talked about Celestia's previous failings and how she basically relies on others to get things done. It got me thinking and I've come up with a theory, one I'm sure I've heard before but I'm claiming as my own because I came up with the conclusions myself. My theory is that Celestia, and by extension Luna, aren't as powerful as they've been built up to be, and that they've been using trickery to make it seem that way. I'm not saying that they're weak either, we do know that they raise the sun and moon, but maybe that is where all their magic is focused. Unicorns like Twilight and Trixie are sort of jacks-of-all-trades, their magic is focused on magic itself rather than one aspect of what magic can do, for example Twilight can cast a gem-finding spell but she isn't as good or a natural at it like Rarity. And I think the same applies to Celestia, her magic is focused on raising and lowering the sun, not offensive magic, and that is why she has been defeated by the big bad villains up until now; she is powerful, she just doesn't have the ability to fight. Now, some of you may be questioning the 1000 years of peace under Celestia's rule and why she is seen as all powerful if I'm saying she isn't, for that I have two answers, the elements of harmony and bluffing. The elements of harmony are quite obvious, if a large enough threat came along Celestia would just need to use them, but since they were stored away in the castle of the two sisters it either means that Celestia hadn't needed to use them since moving to Canterlot or she had a vision of some sort telling her that she needed to send them back there for Nightmare Moon's return. As for the bluffing, it is a common tactic from history and even present day for someone to lie about how much power they have in order to dissuade anyone from attacking them, and since Celestia raises the sun it's perfectly reasonable to believe that for those 1000 years of peace any force that apposed Celestia were just too afraid of getting beaten to actually take her on. The reason Celestia is getting beaten so often at this point in time is because the evil she dealt with 1000 years ago is returning and she no longer has the elements of harmony to boost her own power to deal with them.
  12. hi its so nice to meet you =)

  13. I think that they should, we don't need another episode like Slice of Life but we do need more focus on them.
  14. I, like many others, pick Applejack because she's hard working, honest, always willing to help others and is friendly an helpful to others. Close second is Pinkey because she always has that happy outlook on like and works hard to make others smile, though her tendency to be easily distracted hold her back below Applejack.
