  1. No, I do not agree with you. Sure, quite a few of the brony fandom do act the way you described, but not really anymore. The only time people do act like that (in the semi uncommon situations they do) is if you go to the cons and or interact with them face to face. On the internet, people for the most part have grown up and moved on, no one really acts like that on the internet when it comes to the fandom, but if they do, 80% of the time one of two things are true: 1. They were provoked into acting that way 2. They are trolls The other 20% are the annoying hyperactive 9-12 year olds that you probably are talking about. So do I think its ok to generalize the fandom for its hyperactive annoying side? As I mentioned before, that depends on where you are in the world/internet. IMO its ok to generalize the fandom from what you experience. I am not ok with people generalizing the fandom from what they hear or read.......does that make sense?
  2. I agree with all of you, I cringe every time I see or hear about one of these videos: 1. Terrible acting 2. You cant even tell who is who 3. Live action for a cartoon show (never a good idea) 4. What isn't wrong with these videos? Its like Hasbro is trying to compete with Bratz or something, which is kind of disturbing if you ask me......
  3. No, Ive been told the exact opposite actually (I scare people sometimes I guess) Same
  4. 1. Probably interpreted this wrong, but you said the fandom is horrible (as a good reason for being an anti brony), do you believe that? If so, why spend so much time here, on this website of all places? 2. That I can kinda agree with, depends on where you are on the internet/world though. 3. I am trying to say that you can like something without liking the fandom/fanbase surrounding said thing. I was referring to the post you quoted, not yours (my bad).
  5. Whoah Whoah things are getting pretty intense in THIS forum, Just out of curiosity, if you dislike the fandom, why do you have more than 600 posts here? And also, not everyone is like how you described above, its really hard to simply generalize a group of people as diverse as the brony fandom. All fandoms have their annoying, disturbing or quirky sides, most of the time these weird sides of a fandom is what people think of everyone associated is as a whole. I do agree that not liking the fandom is a legit answer being an anti brony, just like for any other fandom, its pretty normal actually. For instance you can like anthropomorphic animals/cartoons but at the same time hate, be against, or simply not identify with the furry fandom. Idk what the argument is here
  6. Idk, Has anyone here ever listened to the Upheaval Fanfic?
  7. Well for me, Im kinda in the middle. Let me explain..... So I am not open about ponies, but just not subtle enough to be 'subtle'. Most of my phone/ computer backgrounds are mlp related, but look something like the pics below. If someone asked me if I watched mlp I would say 'yes' without hesitation but not to my younger siblings. The problem the problem stems from being 15 and having four younger siblings 2 of which I share a room with. Not to mention the fact that my computer is in our living room with everyone else, something I very much despise. I would be more open about it if I did not have siblings, I have a feeling if hey found out things would kinda spiral out of control. I have already told my mom I like and watch mlp the conversation went something like this: Me: "Uh, hey mom?" Mom: "Huh" Me: "You know that show My little Pony that my sister watched a while back?" Mom:Mom turns around in her computer chair and looks at me "Yeah" Me: I hesitated for a moment Mom: "Spit it out" she said quickly Me: "I, uh, wanted to preemptively tell you that I genuinely enjoy the show" Mom:"Seriously?" She said in flat, level tone. Me: "Seriously" Mom: "Ok then" she turns her chair back to her desk Mom: "Just dont tell your dad, he cares allot more about those kinds of things than I do"
  8. I have two that I can think of at the moment: "everyone is subject to there own onions" - courtesy of youtube comment section "Don't die until your dead" Sounds stupid but really deep if you think about it
  9. Black- especially in combination with other colors (Green, red or blue can look good) Same
  10. I first learned of the brony community years ago when a good friend of mine told me he liked mlp after making some vague mentions of it in the past. The first thing he did was send me the Upheaval Breaking Point fanfic and said that it was really good. So just out of curiosity, I listened to the first few chapters and found myself, oddly enough, enjoying the story. Soon after, I found myself actually watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and discovered that I liked the show. Is it weird that I sincerely enjoyed upheaval? How many others like or have listened to this? Thanks- Frostbyte Here a reference....
