  1. 1.This movie is not made for the fandom. I don't know how many more times I need to say this. 2. The animation is Toon Boom Harmony (digitally hand drawn), not CGI.
  2. Because MLP has standards. And it uses the term "girl cartoon" loosely.
  3. It's gonna be voiced by either Mark Hamil or William Shatner, I can tell you that.
  4. Actually the exact opposite. Adults would get bored there very easily, while a dark ride (or maybe 3D special effects show like Mickey's Phantasmagic) would capture the attention of all ages. There is literally no possible way to make a live action MLP show without it being incredibly out of place.
  5. If they do then it's obvious Hasbro is caving in to overly sensitive parents. This is not a fan cannon issue. This is an issue of the show going beyond many other kids shows.
  6. You guys do realize the name is essentially marketing for the toys, right? Nowhere did they confirm the name would be in the film itself. Does "Guardians of Harmony" or "Equestria Girls" ring a bell?
  7. GOD NO! We don't need Equestria Girls being the face of MLP.
  8. That's a total waste of an attraction. Hasbro was willing to invest in Transformers the ride so I think they would do the same for MLP. Not only that but MLP in live-action is the cringiest thing on earth.
  9. I agree. There should be an actual ride. I'm thinking a roller coaster. Not only would a Rainbow Dash themed ride be awesome, but with Dragons Challenge likely on the way out, they will need a new coaster soon to compensate.
  10. I'm pretty sure this one is the frame-by-frame version. The puppet version is usually reserved for TV shows.
  11. While it's not hand drawn, it's done as a frame by frame storyboard digitally using a program called Toon Boom Harmony. It doesn't use puppets or vectors like Flash.
  12. No, because it requires a crapload of money and time compared to Flash. I think it will be reserved for long term projects like those at Duo Cartoonist.
  13. Equestria Girls: Rising Sun: This sequel deals with both human Starlight and human Sunset. Starlight is evil in this world and has the power to control all the portals in the MLP universe, including the human world. Human Sunset, a prodigy much like SciTwi, has been chasing her down for years, however she does not have the power to travel on an inter-dimensional level. She advertises for someone to help, her, preferably another scientist. SciTwi takes her offer because she has built a portal opener before. With Human Sunset's guidance, she builds the same device except with control over it. The two Sunsets also play off of each other because pony is more magic-smart while human is more street and science-smart. At some point all 8 are stuck in Equestria and the mane 6 see copies of themselves. It all ends with pony Sunset finally apologizing to pony Celestia and returning to Equestria, while human Sunset (much like SciTwi) transfers to Canterlot High. Also everyone graduates as this is the finale of the Equestria Girls series.
  14. Both aren't very good designs. I'd rather Equestria Girls had the look of the animatics it's based on.
  15. I'm not. I think Flash just isn't natural for humans. They should have gone with traditional animation for EG.
  16. The Dazzlings are incredibly shallow villians (more than Sunset Shimmer believe it or not) so it barely matters what they do with them.
  17. I find it to be so, or at least there's a big allusion. Yeah there are laptops and smartphones, but besides that, everything seems to signal that time period. In Equestria Girls the outfits are very styalized and flamboyant, which was very prevalent back then. The hairstyles too. Rainbow Rocks was based on glam pop/rock, as were the outfits during the final battle and worn by the Dazzlings. In Friendship Games Sci Twi dresses like a typical 80s nerd, plus there's an emphasis on science fiction and the supernatural in the movie, both of which were big in 80s pop culture. In Legend of Everfree as well as continuation on anomalies the Girls transform into very flashy characters that you would find in a lot of 80s cartoons. Combine all that with the very separated social interests throughout the film. I'm probably overanalyzing this but it's something that's been in the back of my head for a while.
