Just finished reading "Uncle Tom's Cabin"; sad but very beautiful book, even if it can be a tad melodramatic at times, and still extraordinarily effective.
Powerful book, saddening, but powerful. A product of its time, though. The power, at that time and in that era, was exponentially more than we can even begin to grasp today.
@Key Gear: true dat my friend, true dat. If I have my way, hopefully some day I'll have full time job devoted to studying that period, either at a park or museum. Sectionalism and the Civil War have always fascinated me!
