Yeah, the brackets could have been set up better than they were. Derpy should have gone further, but I couldn't bring myself to vote for her over Applejack. She fought valiantly though!

Yes... long as it's not Pinkie Pie (AGAIN) I'll be a happy camper. Love the Pinkster, but she's gotta stop winning these things. It's just plain boring is all.
