    My mom was trying to get me to watch Kobra Kai. I was insist that it was not something I was going to enjoy considering how much I disliked the original Karate Kid. 

    Luckily was able to escape XD

      From what I understand they’re basically nothing alike. Same universe, but the original characters are middle aged and completely different people.

      from the 10mins I watched they're basically the same thing. At least the premise is pretty much the same but with a spin.
