This is a problem for me since most of my music is from the 70's. I don't mind though because reissues generally just improve on the production without changing anything else

Yea that's true in my research I noticed. Blizzard of Ozz for example doesn't exactly have much butchering from what I could tell. But other Ozzy albums rerecord the bass and drum tracks etc.

Also sometimes a more raspy sound sounds better. Like hearing live sometimes sounds better than studio.
