Very ok episode. And then after it is just for sidekicks. Double boring.

picks up a bit with Apple Family Reunion but then Spike at your service. 

Boring? I have to disagree there, it made me like Rainbow Dash a lot more than I used to. It was my favorite episode in season 3, though I've only seen it once so far.

I mean not a bad episode. Does show growth/maturity for RD, but like just kinda meh to watch. When I see "military" (tho wonderbolts are more athletes than soldiers) and then Just like RD and Lightning Dust hanging around and treating everything happening like a play ground it's somewhat off putting. Coming in to the open I'm like "ugh, time for hardcore training, and ends up being the opposite," there's not really any struggle other than someone who is "better" than her. 

Seen the episode like 7-8 times possibly. So maybe just got old too, tho it was never one of my favs.
