  1. Just finished watching "Yuri on Ice" and it was a good anime but was disappointed. Many people praise it as some LGBT champion and maybe that's the case in Japan (tho I have heard of many other shows that took it further/made it less ambiguous), but honestly was hoping for more. Still a good anime tho. Maybe more will be touched upon in the movie. If it ever ends up coming out that is.

That being said, I know there are some people that praise FIM like it's some champion as well, but honestly I wouldn't even put mlp anywhere on a list of progressive/queer animation etc. Scootaloo's aunts is one random episode that might be skipped over, Lyra and Bon Bon are in the background and hardly have an impact in the show, Applejack and Rainbow too ambiguous to give note to and happens at the end. The only thing I can praise is "Rollercoaster of Friendship" cuz that was 44 minutes of obvious Applejack x Rarity. It was a special that had a good amount of marketing etc. But unfortunately it was pretty much thrown overboard in Spring Breakdown.

Queer Animation champions gonna be She-Ra, Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, and Steven Universe for me. Haven't seen Adventure tho I heard of positive portrayals there too. Small shout out to My Hero Academia for the 2 trans characters it has.

Def. need to expand my queer animation.

Scootaloo s aunt are lgbt? They could be just sisters who live together aswell... Who knows, they didn't really say.... Only sure ones are the ones who got married... And it was at the ending... Even aj and rd are vague.

marriage is not the only indicator of being lgbt etc.

The diction used in the episode showcases the fact that they are lesbian/romantically involved and of course confirmation by writers etc. Definitely not represented as sisters, but the hints are pretty subtle that one could miss it other than the fact it's so obvious the intention that they were meant to be lesbian, but while intentions are nice they aren't groundbreaking or reformation inducing.

Yup..i think it's so the parents could make excuses....because....well some still don't accept lgbt.... Sad. Or i could be wrong....
