  1. In reference to the "Parasite" vs "1917" movie debate. (spoilers for both)

When discussing which is the better film, I often find those who choose 1917 to choose it for it's impressive visuals, editing, camera work, etc. and while it is visually impressive no one discusses the story, which imo is very bare bones (still great tho). Parasite, imo has the better cinematography, but of course doesn't exactly have the same impressive effects etc. that 1917. However, the story is incredible. It's immersive. Interesting and memorable characters that all contribute to the film immensely and it's discussion on class society is intriguing. Such amazing story telling. And that overall, to me makes it a better film. 1917, has a solder that goes from point A to point B to deliver information and his journey is hard, but he perseveres. And, you know, that's pretty much it. A great story about perseverance with excellent visuals and sounds, but that's it. The main characters aren't too intriguing and story is pretty linear. A linear story doesn't equate to "inadequate" but just comparing the two films, Parasite offers much more to ponder and still has great visuals and audio.
