I never thought I'd say that, but I think there should be one more starlight-episode. as much as I dislike her character, it kinda bugs me how we never saw her interacting with sunburst after the season premiere. they made such a big deal out of it, you'd expect the staff to make an episode around that theme. nothing romantic, but it would be nice if they addressed the issues starlight has about sunburst. coming to think of it: make romance a theme, please! that'd be so adorable! but I shouldn't get my hopes up... and as some people already said: I wish for Chrysalis to team up with other villains to get her revenge on starlight. tirek, maybe? please, pretty please? although, with Discord being on the ponies' side an being pretty pissed at both of them, it probably wouldn't be much of a fight. but still, I'd be entertained! but I guess Chrysalis will just do something lame, like replacing starlight with nobody noticing. but hey, I could (and probably am) wrong, so nyeh.

haha, YES! from the very first second on, when Celestia acted like a b*tch in "No second Prances", I KNEW there was something shady going on! well...probably everybody did, given the fact that it was pretty obvious, but still...APPLAUSE TO ME! so, Chrysalis and her hive are back, in what could be my new favourite season finale along with "Twilight's Castle". most of the episode works perfect, from the team-up (which I was mostly exited for just because of Discord) up to the "journey" in the hive and the villain we've all been waiting for to return (in a pretty creepy way). Discord and Trixie work pretty well together and make a good time. their bickering, while it sometimes seems to be annoying, comes off as completely believeable given who we are dealing with here. and I'm glad that they "banned" magical solutions from this episode, because, as Trixie said: "Discord could take on the whole swarm by sneezing if he wanted to". it would've either been a very short finale, or I would've been shouting "WHY CAN YOU TURN CITIES INTO VOLCANOS BUT NOT DEAL WITH A DEMENTOR-BUG?" at my screen all the time. therefore, it was great that they had to rely on their brains and tricks alone (although that Changeling-trap by Trixie DOES look like magic to me. but hey, what do I know). also, I think there is one thing some people have missed so far: Celestia, Luna, Twilight AND her friends are all gone. when Starlight suggests visiting the empire, Thorax says that it's already too late for that. do you notice something...? WHERE. WAS. CADANCE? seriously, I don't like this character or anything about her, but...where was she, honestly? did we see her inside one of the cocons? did we see her at the festival at the end? NO! I didn't miss her at all, but that's just...odd. is she inside a cocon in her throne-room, waiting for someone to rescue her (I bet there will be fanart of this)? so anyhow, the search in the hive was a lot of fun and surprisingly thrilling, Chrysalis' entrance was creepily awesome, and I loved how she kicked Starlight around (did I ever mention how much I disliked that character, too?). but it also lead to what could be the worst reformation in the whole damn show: the Changeling-reformation. when Thorax did it, I was kinda fine with it. he had a backstory, he was born good, he tried to make friends, he was the odd one out. when he changed into his new form, I was confused, but I also thought "meh. he deserved it". but suddenly, ALL of the changelings, who have NEVER shown us ANY kind of friendly behaviour, figure "I did it all my life and it's the very purpose of my existence, IT MUST BE WRONG!" and change into their good forms too? granted, it must really suck to constantly feel like you're starving to death. and I'd buy that some changelings don't want to feel that agony anymore. but ALL of them? Chrysalis and her hive were everything they ever knew, and given what we find out in the comics, they're been with her for at least one thousand years. and suddenly, out of nowhere, they decide to leave this existence behind, like all of them had a magical moment of hindsight? that's both unbelieveable and stupid, and we all know why it was done like this in the first place: Toys. Hasbro...are you going bankrupt? with a fanbase that has the money and the dedication to buy EVERYTHING you crap out, do you really feel the need to damage the show just to sell some more toys?...nevermind, I just noticed what I said there. but luckily, Chrysalis tells Starlight politely to f*ck off and flees once again. aaaaand no one tries to stop her. none of the three royal Alicorns. none of the Changelings who just decided that their long-year-ruler is evil. not even Discord (ok, I'm buying that last one given that he only rushed into that adventure because Fluttershy was captured). seriously? after she promised to return for season 7, NO ONE is like "we might wanna stop that evil overlord who almost overpowered us twice now"? but hey, at least that makes it possible for her to be a reoccuring villain once again, and I can't wait for that. I don't think there is much that Chrysalis can do on her own, but we'll see about that later. so, that was "To Where and Back Again". was it awesome? yes. did the changeling-reformation suck? definitely. did I love it? absolutely. it worked as a great finale for a season that was like 50% great episodes and 50% boring episodes. I for one can't wait for Chrysalis' return in season 7.

YOUR OPINION IS WRONG! LET ME HAVE THESE DREAMS! yeah, second one is actually a valid point. Discord is just not made to fit into the eqg-world, they couldn't put him to good use there. BUT: yeah, I expected them to finish the kiss. I wasn't watching an anime whose whole purpose is to frustrate me to the core! I usually don't hold grudges against fictional characters (heck, I'm a huge fan of Ramsay Bolton!) but buzzkill-Gloriosa got me like: I guess you're right and they won't show any kissing in the show, not even the famous "romantic first kiss". but that does not detract my immense wrath!

so, I've just watched the movie, and since most things have already been said, I'll keep it relatively short by simply counting down my favourite moments: "The Midnight in me". while I felt that is was too short and could've been more loud and dramatic, it played out pretty well. Bulk Biceps being put into the stitching-group (or whatever girly kind of thing it was, I liked it) Filthy Rich. I think he just had a great character-design. he looked like they didn't just took the pony-version and slammed it into a human form, they really put a little effort into it. while he only played a insignificant role in this movie, I found him to be pretty enjoyable. Sunset looking into Pinkies' mind. it's not easy to make things appear to be completely random, they probably thought about what to show us for ages. The romance. the scenes with Twilight and Timber just worked SO much better than the Twiflash-scenes. it didn't feel forced, and there's actual chemistry between the two characters. also, they didn't leave Flash behind and forgot about him! while I would've been completely fine with this, it's nice of them to throw some SunFlash-moments in there. neat. very neat. yes! YES! YEEES! ladys and gentleman, behold and hold on to your guts, for my new favourite episode has been found! ...oh screw you. anyhow, I had extremely high expectations to this episode (it had to make up for "What about Discord?", after all) and boy, it totally lived up to them! Discord was perfectly on point and at his absolute best here. he managed to deliver every gag by using the full capacity of his powers (while still leaving us wondering how he could ever lose to the mane six. DUDE CREATED A VULCANO FOR CHRISTS SAKE!), and I for one couldn't predict what would happen next. granted, that was the only weak spot of this episode. I hoped we would spend most of our time in the game, but well, a guy can't have everything. I'm not disappointed about this though since the gags we got instead were just as awesome. I'm surprised that Discord, Spike and BigMacIntosh actually worked together very well. it was a fun, new group, and it was enjoyable to watch them interact with each other. Spike was calm and patient with Discord, more patient than most of the mane six actually. impressive, little dragon. Impressive. as always when an episode is great, I can't really say anything. I can write essays of complaints, but in that case, I don't have any! it is, without a doubt, my new favourite episode, and I will probably watch it to the death (my death, since I probably won't ever get tired of it). the second half of season six continues it's greatness!

alright, I'll start with the positive before I get to the one negative thing that bugged (hehe, "bugged") me about this episode. First off, it's just dang awesome to get some background-informations on the changelings. So there is actually a Kingdom, huh. Now I wonder: Is it a Kingdom like Equestria, with actual buildings and a social structure, or is "Changeling Kingdom" just the name Chrysalis gave to her hive? She's quite into this Queen-thingy, so I think that's actually something she'd do. Also, I loved the short scene where we saw Chrysalis looking for her children. This women is probably the darkest villain in the show, and I love it. I mean...come on. You know it's true. Second off, Thorax. I love the idea of a Changeling who genuily questions his existence and his purpose and tries to find an alternative to being evil. They also thought of a nice twist to make said goal more difficult: His hunger. But as he changes his appearance and enters the Crystal Empire, that hunger seems to be lost. Now, one could say "That's because of Friendship-Reasons, duuuh", but as we see later when Thorax encounters Flurry Heart, this hunger is still there. Does he have an "on/off"-button for this? 'cause if so, I need that. But that's just a small nuisance that, until now, didn't even come into my mind. I liked Thorax, end of story. But I do think that some of his potential is wasted, or at least some of the potential his story had. After Spike sings a song, both his hunger AND the hatred of those who view them as an enemy is gone. Which brings me to the negative point: The song. I mean, what was that? Spike stormed into the throne-room (and is apparently a ninja, since NONE of these 9001 guards noticed him or the changeling), and we can basically feel the tension. We know something big is happening. Spike is going to give these guys some pep-talk, and they'll give the Changeling a chance. And, slowly, they learn to trust him and see that not all Changelings are the same. Well, at least that's what I wished for. But then the lights came on and Spike suddenly started singing. The whole serious and grim mood is gone, and as Spike sings in front of moody and pissed off faces, I can't help but think about how ridicolous he looks. And after that not-so-good-song, suddenly all the hatred is GONE. God knows where it's gone, maybe Thorax ate it and just didn't notice, but...how in the world does that work? Thorax is the member of an evil, sly race that NEEDS to feed on other's love. And yet, a song is all it takes for them to FORGET about these facts? It would've been much better if they didn't get an instant-reformation but instead just gave Thorax a chance, like Discord got one. They'd get to know him, learn about his race, and come to think "Hey, maybe this guy isn't just a f*cking bug-dementor!" But no, bad song it is. As usual, I'm talking more about the negative aspects than the positive ones, but don't get fooled by that: I really liked that episode. It had funny moments and managed to execute an interesting idea very well. But I just hope to see a little more of Thorax (AND A LOT LESS OF STARLIGHT) and don't have to see him falling into the realm of the forgotten.

my gosh, I think I've just found my new favourite episode. if you've ever been on a convention or if you've ever had an argument with another fan about a certain franchise *coughcoughStarWarscoughcough*, you will get a sense of deja-vu once RD starts to argue with Quibble about the books. I felt like it was a huge reference to Star Wars-fans: those who like the prequels, and those who don't. both sides have their points, but at the end, it comes down to your personal taste. of course. I really loved the scene where Rainbow first entered the Daring Do-convention. the widened eyes, the gasping, it was perfect! they managed to recreate the atmosphere that I remember feeling during my first anime-convention (also: Body Pillows.). it just got better once Quibble appeared. they both play off one another so well, I can't find ANY fault with that. RD is at her best, and Quibble is just enjoyable throughout the whole freaking episode. It's. simply. perfect. (it's funny how I can hardly find anything to say when there's nothing to complain about). two more things: first, Rainbow had the greatest expression to ever exist in this episode. hands down, kids. the greatest face in all of MLP has been found. we can rest now. Second of all: shipping! SO MUCH SHIPPING! I could sense a great disturbance in the force throughout the whole episode. as if millions of authors suddenly started typing aggressively! 'dis gonna be awesome.

phew. well. just where do I start? this was, at best, a small case of "meh". it felt like the writers wanted to show us a new place, but didn't quite know what to do with it. I loved the setting and I really adore...whatever the daughter's name was. but as likeable as she is, her father makes up for this by being the greatest d*ckhead of the whole town. cleaning up the restaurant WHILE there are still costumers? no wonder nopony wants to get there! who thought it would be a great idea to let this by-the-book-grump do the hosting? the song was really catchy, and this was one of the two great things about this episode: the music and the new characters. critique-pony (whatever her name was) kinda looked like an italian dude in his best years, but she was more "complex" than I expected. she wasn't just being mean, she actually thought that she was right and even kind of had a point. but still, it was so very satisfying to see her get her comeuppance. daughter-pony was adorable and sympathic, even though her dad wasn't. together with the background-characters, they managed to save this episode from it's kinda boring plot. you see, at first, it looked like this would become a conflict between Rarity and Pinkie Pie about what the restaurant should be like, but then, out all of a sudden, it's about critique-pony "telling others what to think"? did I miss a key-scene where this was brought up before? the last thing I want to talk about is how Rarity acted in this episode. I loved the fact that she was well known in Canterlot and already had a reputation. she was very well integrated, and I love it. but hasn't she seen her own episodes? why is she trying to rob something of it's personality and make it as grey as the rest of the city? has she already forgotten what happened in "Canterlot Botique?" did the sauna kill off some of her brain-cells, or what? it wasn't a big flaw as it was needed to get the plot rolling, but it still bugged me. overall, this was an "ok" episode. after some really funny and great episodes, maybe we needed something like this to calm down. the plot was weak, but this was almost made up by the characters and the music. it was ok.

Sorry guys, I'm about eight hours late! But no one keeps track of me anyways, so whatever. A new ship has arisen. And with this ship, I sense great danger. I can't quite put my finger on the danger (maybe it's just because I don't like Zephyr (couldn't they make this name less complicated to pronounce?), but it's there. Once again, FiM-Fiction will be overflown with new shipfics. ANYWAYS! I really loved the animation in that episode. Fluttershy "learned" some new expressions, and boy, I love how her behaviour changed since season 1. She wasn't afraid to give some straight talk, and she was downright pissed off (or...peeved, pieved, whatever the word was). That was incredibly funny to look at, and it once again showed me one of the reasons why I love this show so much. For Zephyr, there isn't much I can say about him. His character is on point from the very second on he appears on screen, and yet, his behaviour is, even though it's predictable, not un-entertaining. A very annoying and unsympathic character, but one we all kinda know and can maybe even relate to (myself totally not included. Not. at. all.). The plot was at the perfect pace: Not for one second did it feel like it was stuck or missing something. Everything was at the right place at the right time. Perfectly executed, I dare say. And since I can't complain, there isn't much to write. I was really surprised by the song at the end. I mean, it just started out of literally nowhere, and I don't like when songs start this way. Most songs are predictable. By the way the characters and their surroundings act you can usually say "alrighty, there's a song coming on." But not in that case. Also, the song itself was a very serious case of "meh". Did we really need a song to show us the moral of the episode? Not in my opinion. Heck, it wasn't even catchy to me. Overall: It was a fun episode with great animation and interesting new characters (even though we saw everything before in other movies and shows). Fluttershy has really developed, and I can't complain. Except for one thing: If Zephyr hits on Rainbow Dash one more time, he will be removed.

...eh. That episode was a serious case of "meh". Rainbow Dash and Twilight were pretty funny (dat "Mission Impossible"-reference really got me), but asides from that...what am I supposed to feel? This episode felt like a filler. It had no context, and it will have no consequences. Did we ever see Applejack doing something in a hilariously complicated way even though it could've been much simpler? No, we didn't. She's a farmer, she's working efficient, and that's it. We will probably see RD in the spa from now on, but asides from that, this episode felt pretty...useless. So yeah, I usually talk a lot, but in that rare case, there isn't anything I could say. I just hope the next episode is more exciting and entertaining.

oh boy, just where do I start? I am SO going nuts right now! never before has Ponyville looked more beautiful! all the snow, the lights, DAMN, why can't it always look like this? someone needs to start a petition for it RIGHT F*CKING NOW! the picture suited the name of the holiday: it really looked heartswarming, and that means something coming from a gore-fan! it got even better when we got to see...wherever it was the story took place. it was such a nice place! why is the english language lacking so many words I could use right now? this deserves to be called more than just "beautiful"! maybe...beautypretty²? second off, the music. boy. I usually really dislike the musical-episodes of this show. the songs just steal time, time that should be used for storytelling. but hell, they did it absolutely f*cking right this time! not only do work for storytelling, they are also absolutely flawless! it all just works so well along with the characters and the setting, it's simply divine! I especially loved Pinkie's and Luna's songs. Pinkie was at her absolutely best, and boy, never before has Luna looked more badass and intimidating! she also has one heck of a singing voice! there isn't much to say about the story. we all know the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, but dang it, this episode managed to tell this story without missing anything important in a matter of twenty minutes while also being as enjoyable as the muppets-version of "A Christmas Carol". I simply loved how the characters were presented in the past and still suited their personalities! I am, for the first time in quite a while, fanboying like a schoolgirl about an mlp-episode again (and this time, it didn't even include Discord! MIND = BLOWN!)! THAT! WAS! F*CKING PERFECT! (but seriously, how can one unicorn be able to erase an entire holiday from history?) Also: Bless Spike, for he speaks our thoughts. Finally, the show touches on Starlights overreaction. it has happened...it has finally, finally happened...I found peace at last...

so, it has come to pass, and Rainbow Dash has finally achieved her life-long dream. she is a wonderbolt! yeah, that wasn't really a strong moment at the beginning of the episode. for six seasons, we have been following rd's story, and spitfire just tells her "by the way" that she just achieved her life goal. what the heck? I mean, it was cute to see rd smiling over that, but that wasn't the goosebump-moment I wanted it to be. not the goosebump-moment Rainbow Dash deserved. here's what would've been better in my opinion: spitfire tells rd that someone from the wonderbolts got sick. therefore, rd needs to fill in her position, and spitfire tells her that rd, if she does a good job, will become a complete wonderbolt after the show. that way, the sentence "Duh! Because I'm a Wonderbolt!" at the end would've had a much greater impact. while it was fun to see rd "changing" her personality in order to fit in, these moments made me feel physical pain, and I just looked away from the screen. it just doesn't quite fit someone as narcisstic as rainbow dash to imitate other persons. the rainbow dash I know wouldn't have tried to change her personality, but to show her best side and be acknowledged for who she is. while I see what the point of the "nickname"-thing was, I couldn't quite relate to that scenario. it sure was completely in-character for rainbow dash to try to impress others, and I don't see any flaws on how this idea was executed. really, I don't. but I am just not a "person of pride". I don't mind nicknames or teasing at work (my nickname is "Failmaster", after all), and therefore just couldn't relate to that situation. made me hard to cheer for rainbow dash. well, what can I say. that was a classic "new guy"-episode which didn't manage to create a conflict that really got me investigated. I'm kinda angry at this episode because it completely wasted the "Rainbow Dash is a Wonderbolt!"-moment. that could (and should) have been a much stronger moment.

well...nope. not at all. see, I watch mlp for the humor and the characters. I want to see how they grow and change, but this is still a show for kids, and the morals are just as basic as they need to be. most times, they don't apply to real-life situations. life in Equestria is pretty simple, and so are the morals. "As long as you do good things, good things will happen to you in return". but life isn't a cartoon (thankfully. I couldn't stand being nice all the time). call me a cynical dude or a wannabe-smartass-teenager (or both of it), but life just isn't as simple as it is shown in mlp. you have to lie in order to keep some of your friends or get what you want. Discord once said "Sometimes a lie is easier to take", and...yeah, that's right. think about it: you surely know someone at work or some family-member that you can't stand, but would you tell them what you really think about them? of course you don't. you keep lying and pretend to be interested in their lifes, either to avoid trouble, or to get something in return from them. Wait...I just used a moral from mlp to make my point...ARGH curse you Discord!

https://youtu.be/ztVMib1T4T4 honestly? name ONE point where the things that happened to shining armor and cadance actually had any impact on them. they NEVER changed, they always stayed the same, and their behaviour won't change the least. granted, shining armor was shown to be under great stress in "The Crystalling", but cadance still was that perfect, flawless princess she always was. in the comic-arc "Siege of the Crystal Empire", there was a hint that cadance could actually have an internal conflict, but I hardly doubt that they will ever touch on that in the future. I prophesy this: they will, of course, protect their daughter when she's in danger in the season's finale (because this WILL be the plot), but the characters themselves will never change. I COULD always be wrong, of course, but in that case, I'm pretty sure that I'll be right.

so yeah, I have re-watched those episodes recently, and well...if MLP would've sticked to this kind of humor and storytelling, the show wouldn't be nearly as popular as it is. but what could I expect? this was created before the authors were aware of the kind of fanbase they got, and they really improved. I only want to say one thing: can you imagine how well this would've worked as the season's finale? watch it again and think how great most of these moments would've been. if we saw Twilight struggling to understand the concept of friendship throughout the season, "Friendship is Magic" would've made one simply awesome finale. (I'm trying to come up with things to say about this, but it's kinda hard to write about a series about funny ponies with the bill cipher-theme in the background! but I think you all got what I meant, right?)

Well well, that was...certainly...something. First of all: Even though I like neither Trixie or Starlight, this episode managed to get me more interested in how these two could work together and how they play off each other. There are also some funny moments based on the mane six (RD's "You don't know the Wonderbolts?"-face is the exact same face I make when someone hasn't even heard of...pretty much anything I love), but that's about everything I like about this episode. I am pretty confused about Twilight here. She is willing to make Starlight her student, lets her stay at her castle, and yet, she acts rude and skeptical towards other former villains. "I am not one to dwell on the past! As long as your name isn't 'Discord' or 'Trixie', that is." What is it that makes Starlight stand out? Her backstory? Surely not. Again, I like it that the authors are focusing on Starlights reforming-arc, but that doesn't make up for her flaws. But I'm pretty sure all of us have had this conversation one too many times. One could say "Twilight just wanted to look good in front of Celestia", but if that was the case, why did she invite 1) a pony that never takes of her headphones (WHOSE NAME IS NOT DJPON-3! THAT SOUNDS RETARDED AND I REFUSE TO USE THAT NAME!) and 2) a rude and unfriendly donkey? Derpy is the only one of the three guests that is even remotely close to being suitable for the dinner. Which brings me to my next point: When the F*CK did Celestia turn into a - and please excuse my choice of words - b*tch that is openly BORED by her subjects? I always admired that Princess, because of the way she treats the ones she rules over and how she is always patient and loving. But THIS? Her look basically says "Twilight. Bread can mold. What can you do?", and that's just not the Celestia I know. That's not the Celestia that we've seen all the ti- Wait a second. A thought just struck me like a lighting. What if the Celestia we've seen in this episode is NOT Celestia? We've seen a Changeling at the end of "The Crystalling". What if Chrysalis was somehow able to capture the royal sisters and take their places? Dear god, I have to make a thread for this! Anyhow: Starlight and Trixie get along very well, and, since Twilight is acting like she doesn't trust Starlight at all, she decides not to go to the dinner and have fun with her friend instead. Honestly, who can blame her? Then, Twilight shows up, Trixie can't keep her mouth shut, and BOOM! No friends anymore. But Trixie decides to try the Manticore-stunt anyways and...most likely die? In front of a crowd? Because she just lost a friend? Wow. Talking about 'extremes'. That was a pretty dark moment which really got me more intrigued in the episode. Nice. Well, there isn't much left to say from my side anymore. The authors took two characters I have no interest in and made them interesting as a duo. Very nice job. But skeptical Twilight and Celestia-B*tch kinda ruined the mood for me. I'll have to be very bored to watch that episode again (or on the lookout for green eyes on Celestia).

well, Mandrel is in love with Twilight, and he tries to make her kill him so she'll have the strenght to deal with all the other threats that await her (y'know, because she never kills villains even though they're great threats). so, if you are his friend, he'll likely try to make you snap.
