  1. The special is actually shorts edited together.
  2. There's a touring live show next year. I'm sure the toys will also continue for the time being, although I don't know if they'll release any new ones or just continue to distribute existing ones.
  3. Well, I was half right. It’s legit, but it’s actually done by DHX and not Boulder Media. It’s apparently shorts edited together and Hasbro doesn’t tell the crew about their release plans in advance, so when Nick Confalone said Sunset’s Backstage Pass was the last Equestria Girls special, he probably didn’t know Hasbro was going to release these shorts as a special.
  4. Got a few more since I last posted in this thread. Here’s what I currently have. The Butterscotch and Sunlight are both Basic Fun releases, but the others are original releases.
  5. I don't think I saw the full episode at the time because I remember wondering what was going on, but the earliest I remember watching SpongeBob was catching the end of the episode Plankton.
  6. There are credible sources that have been wrong at times. Zap2it comes to mind, but they don’t go off assumptions. It’s a good idea to put people on guard and tell them when the episodes might be airing, but that site is reporting the possible airdates as if they’re confirmed. That’s a good way to start rumors. Not blaming you or anything, but nothing on that site indicates that the dates aren’t confirmed. If it turns out there is and I’m missing it (which is possible), someone please point me to it and I’ll retract this statement, but I couldn’t find it.
  7. Simple Ponyclock isn't a credible source. Some of the dates he had listed at the time of these tweets turned out to be wrong. it is true that 9Go! (the Australian TV channel) will continue to air new episodes through at least this Friday: https://www.yourtv.com.au/program/my-little-pony-friendship-is-magic/274285/ But presently, nothing regarding new episodes is known after that. They could continue, but they could also stop.
  8. I don't think Spike (who I'm pretty sure is a kid) should be shipped with older characters.
  9. I don’t think he knows anything about Hasbro’s releases before we do. Also, I don’t see why only Europe would get this.
  10. Wasn’t Sunset’s Backstage Pass DHX’s last Equestria Girls special? I don’t think Ishi would know anything about this.
  11. I honestly don’t see any reason to doubt the legitimacy of this. The Polish listing looks legitimate, and also, there’s an Equestria Girls DVD available for pre-order on the U.K. Amazon called Spring, Sunsets, Holiday. https://www.amazon.co.uk/My-Little-Pony-Equestria-Sunsets/dp/B07W6C92FN No description is provided, but it doesn’t seem that difficult to determine what’s on it. Spring is probably referring to Spring Breakdown, Sunsets is probably referring to Sunset’s Backstage Pass, and Holiday is probably referring to this.
  12. A Polish listings site is listing a holiday special titled Holiday Unwrapped for a September 22 premiere on a Polish channel called Teletoon+ (no relation to the Canadian Teletoon). I know it was reported before that Boulder Media wasn't working on new Equestria Girls material, but all that was said was that they "currently" working on new EG material, so it's possible this was already finished by the time that was reported. https://programtv.naziemna.info/program/audycja/My+Little+Pony:+Equestria+Girls+Holiday+Unwrapped
  13. Just to clarify one thing, it's actually airing on the Nick Jr. channel, not the main Nickelodeon.
  14. Welcome to the forums! Actually, MLP Tales is part of G1. G2 didn't have a cartoon.
  15. It looks like MLP toys are coming to Burger King. Supposedly, they'll be available from August 5-September 29. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can tell, this will be the first time MLP toys will be at Burger King in the U.S. (MLP has been at Burger King in other countries). https://poniesthatsparkle.tumblr.com/post/186689570942/new-burger-king-toys-theyre-supposedly-going-to
  16. That was actually being falsely reported by the press when it was first announced. No idea where they got it from. https://www.michaelbay.com/2018/08/13/update/
  17. I’m not interested in seeing this movie, but I love these excerpts from the novelization. And yes, this is the official novelization.
  18. The anime I like isn’t the anime that people are generally into. I like the anime that Nick Jr. aired in their early years. My favorite that aired there is Maya the Bee, but that was actually made in the 1970s, so instead, I’ll go with Adventures of the Little Koala. Really nice slice of life show. Not too far behind for me would be Belle and Sebastian and The Littl’ Bits.
  19. I think what happened is we got older. Except for the Cy Schneider years (when they focused more on appealing to parents), Nick has always been focused on entertaining kids, not adults (although they have been increasingly relying on nostalgia in recent years). No matter what era, there’s people that think newer Nick pales in comparison to the Nick they grew up with. In the late 90s, there were people boycotting the channel simply because they didn’t like their then newer shows. And I know of one person that grew up with pre-splat Nick and dislikes even the 90s shows. But kids kept tuning in and now they look back fondly on those shows. That’s not to say Nick is beyond criticism. There are some legitimate issues that have been brought up in this thread (such as mistreating shows that don’t get SpongeBob level ratings). Personally, I think they should be focusing less on nostalgia and more on new ideas or they won’t build the type of legacy they had in the 90s or even 2000s. But I don’t think the shows themselves are necessarily the issue. They just appeal to a new generation of kids. When Fanboy & Chum (which is kinda a bit far back at this point, but was mentioned) came on, I think I was getting to the age where it didn’t interest me (still don’t care for it), but my brother (who’s younger than me) was interested and that was the main reason I watched it back then. And I recall Sanjay and Craig actually did well in ratings when it first came on. And say what you will about the sitcoms (I don’t care for the newer ones myself), but Henry Danger has been running for 5 years. It wouldn’t have lasted this long if kids weren’t watching. Honestly, I think Nick passing on Adventure Time was for the best. I don’t think it would have lasted as long on Nick as it did on Cartoon Network. Also, that was actually in the last decade, not this one. Ratings on all of cable have been going down in recent years. It’s an effect from cord cutting. The ratings are only going to get smaller no matter what Nick does.
  20. I was still a kid when One Coarse Meal and Stuck in the Wringer first aired. While I’ll admit those episodes weren’t favorites of mine even then, I still liked the show as a whole and was still looking forward to new episodes, and even with those episodes, I didn’t really think of the (perfectly valid) issues you brought up at the time. I don’t feel the same way about those seasons now as I did then, but I still liked the show as a whole and was looking forward to new episodes. I’m sure there were people online saying that the show should end, but I did not feel that way at the time and probably wouldn’t have liked it if the show did end. Those people online at the time were not in the target audience and it’s been years since I’ve been myself, but when I was, I still liked SpongeBob, and today’s kids still like SpongeBob, regardless of what we think.
  21. Is she Hidden Treasure? http://strawberryreef.com/Index/Name/hiddentreasure.html If not, I do suggest looking through that site because there's a good chance she's listed there.
  22. I loved both, but I was more of a Nick kid.
  23. There are threads for showing off G1 and G3 ponies, so I thought I’d start one for G2. I don’t expect this to gain as much traction as those threads (though I could be wrong) because G2 didn’t last long in the U.S. and I don’t think it’s as common as a result, but I figured why not. And before it comes up, no, My Little Pony Tales was not G2. It was part of G1. To start things off, I do have one G2 pony called Seabreeze.
