    Hello people of the MLP Forums! I'm currently trying to practice a little, improve and develop my personal style. For this I am looking for characters to draw (/mostly sketch :P)! I may pick and choose depending on what I feel like drawing at the time, so the order is absolutely random. I hope some of you will help me out :3

    Oh my! I'm so glad I'm not the only one that can't get the ponymoticons right! :scoots: So I finally finished my Fluttershy picture... I worked quite hard on this one, but I'm not fully satisfied... Whatever, I'm just glad it's done Also, Flutters is adorable so everything is ok

    Currently reading "Dirty Streets of Heaven" (which takes me a while as it is in english and that is not my native language ^^ and finally got "Heroes of Olymp: The Mark of Athena" (I generally read paperbacks because I read a lot when I'm on the go, and somehow it takes forever for those to be available here... xP) so I will continue with that afterwards. Both are great in their own different ways

    Haha, yes I don't think she gets this whole 'Selfie' thing xD Drawing the Twi and Cadence picture motivated me to FINALLY draw my OC/Ponysona, though her design is not final. xP But I like these little aquare sized pictures for some reason. Idk it's fun Now I don't know which one to use as my avatar...

    @@Core, Thank you so much I'm happy to slowly find my own style in this big fandom full of great artists. Idk, but that name makes me want to draw little FillerShys on absolutely everything now.

    I agree with everything that has been said before. If you just started drawing, you might want to practice very basic shapes and lines first (Yes, lines. It is important to learn how to properly use your pencil ^^ Even if it might seem weird) In ym art class we spent a loooot of time just drawing as many circles on paper as we could with a pencil. I don't say you should spend your days filling multiple pieces of paper with circles but it is a really good practice to get a feel for how you're holding the pencil and how you can get nice lines. You might want to practice 3dimensional objects like balls and cubes which will often automatically help you practice shading. That being said, do NOT take out the fun of drawing by mindlessly trying to follow what everyone says, draw what makes you happy too! If you enjoy drawing ponies and would like to learn more about the show's style then practice that as well! When I wanted to practice pony anatomy I watched the first episode and paused whenever the ponies changed their pose significantly and sketched what I saw in my sketchbook. That takes quite some time but it helped me a LOT! I hope you will find great fun in drawing, remember it is all about fun and enjoying yourself!

    I sometimes have a certain type of dream that I have over and over and over again. Lately I've often had nightmares about hording small pets like bunnies and guineapigs and whatnot, but I 'forgot' about them and when I get home I see they all passed away (which will usually end up with me crying and hating myself even if I know it was just a dream ) . I have absolutely no idea why I have this dream lately, maybe it is because everytime I hear a story about people who actually hord animals and neglect them it absolutely hits my heart? But I mean, I'm not the only one that would react like that. I also sometimes have dreams that will continue, ie one night I dream that I go to a park, the next night I dream I am in the park etc. (This is just an example, it's not that simple xD) Regarding wether or not this is normal.... I am absolutely no expert or even near an expert, but as far as I know it is absolutely normal to have recurring dreams and I've heard many people tell me about theirs (teeth/hair falling out, etc). And dreaming about your work is normal as well, because we process what happens during the day time when we dream. That being said, I never heard about having such a similar dream every night, though I'm sure you're not alone with this.

    Thank you a lot I absolutely see your points. The proportions are definitely not correct in these (and neither is the lighting really) and that is something I still struggle with, especially when it comes to non-general poses and (ESPECIALLY!) different points of view and interaction with objects in any way. I am working on that On another note, I spend the last two days drawing a gift for one of my absolute best friends of her lovely pony OC called 'Final Sunshine'. It's not as clean as I would like it to be, but I absolutely lost motivation in the end...
