  1. I like her a lot. What are her colors? Maybe you can check out my OC, and do a sketch trade sometime? https://mlpforums.com/topic/146272-introducing-hope-glimmer-oc/
  2. She's very lovely. Nice work on the hair and muzzle.
  3. Thank you! It really means a lot. I just checked out these photos on mobile and the colors look a little different; but not bad. Whew! As far as her cutie mark goes, I'll do my best to explain without turning this into a novel. Hope's special talent is her ability to connect with others in a way that surpasses simply socialization. She sees that we are all connected, one in the same, all pieces of the larger puzzle of existence. She's a very thoughtful, meditative (and even spiritual) pony. She has a passion for 'plugging in' to this puzzle, and feeling the one-ness which is everypony and every living thing. As a result, she is very empathetic and understanding of others; even when they aren't 'perfect'. The purple and eye represent the 'Third Eye' discussed in various metaphysical teachings (as well as Buddhist philosophy and Hinduism). The heart in the pupil represents her love of 'The All', which includes everypony and all of nature. The little blips radiating from the eye represent 2 different things: 1. How she sends love to everypony (and all living things). 2. How far her reach. I hope that made sense!
  4. Lovely work! I would love one of Hope. Please and thank you. Her mohawk can be styled in any way you see fit.
  5. Greetings everypony! It's been a very long time since I've taken the time to draw, but back 'in the day' it was a very big part of my life. MLP has inspired me to pick it back up, and over a period of time I gradually developed my OC; Hope Glimmer. She is very closely based off of myself (with a slightly more interesting backstory to boot), and so this character means a lot to me. Here are two chibi-esque drawings and a bust in a more 'serious' pony style. Glad to be drawing again, hope you enjoy! Note: On the itti-bitty chibi I forgot the white nose marking. Oopsie. <3
  6. This is absolutely beautiful. You did an excellent job with the water colors; the colors blend very well and the picture itself has a very relaxing tone to it. ❤️
  7. Or close to that. This is my pathetic attempt to network with other fans around the same age. Hey; at least I admit it's pathetic-ness! Tell me about yourself, your hobbies and interests. I'm perfectly cool with diversity (it actually helps keep conversation interesting and I'm always down to learn something new). I'm an avid: - weightlifter (and part time runner) - doodler - documentary watcher - meditator - food vacuum (fruits and veggies please) - animal and pet lover (I've got rats and a cat) - philosopher (of no real talent; I just enjoy it) I'm new to the fandom. Show me your favorite fan works whether they be artwork, music, or fan fiction! Oh, please and thank you. ❤️
  8. Really appreciating these different views of the fandom. Thanks everyone and keep them coming. ❤️
  9. She's just absolutely gorgeous, I don't understand how someone could -not- just be amazed by her design. Her mane and eyes especially. Such wow.
  10. I'll be honest in saying that this is as far as I've gone in an attempt to meet other bronies. BUT I've been browsing YouTube for a few weeks and I've heard a lot of this: Meeting new friends and loved ones. I think it's really great that you've been fortunate enough to meet some worthwhile people in the fandom. And I'm glad those friendships/relationships have helped you in your own life.
  11. I'm new here. In your own words, what should I expect? I've enjoyed the show from near the beginning (I hopped on when season 2 was about halfway through but of course started watching at season 1), and collected quite a bit. (Let's face it, they're adorable.) But really, as far as other fans and the fandom as whole; how would you describe the community? I'm sure there are a variety of people here.
  12. Wonderful work! They have a personal touch to them while staying true to the style of the show. It's very obvious that you put a lot of time into them and pay special attention to detail. ❤️ I stalked your tumblr and etsy looking for prices and whatnot (I'm on mobile and not on tumblr so I could have missed it), but please post an update when you're open for commissions. Even a PM or tagging me in a commission thread.
  13. I'll second the "re sparking an interest in drawing", as well as the "had a bad day just want something cheerful". I can say though that there were a few episodes that just kind of sparked change. It's all of the lessons we were raised with but kind of lose sight of as we get older. Like you, there were plenty of other things going on in my life that began when I decided to change my 'tude, but those little reminders helped. Primarily to not be as overly critical to myself or others.
  14. Well of course! But don't people feel inspired from good books, good music? This is really no different So you picked up an old creative hobby/outlet. That's actually pretty great.
