Did you get too consumed?

too inexperienced. i had only been into music for a little less than half a year at the time i did it. i didn't make any progress, and it felt awful, not being able to learn the thing i wanted to do the most in the world... eventually i just gave up, and beat myself down over it. i may have more experience now for being into music a bit more comfortably now, but i'm worried it'll crack me down again. and if it does, then i don't know what i'll do.

When I get like that with my art, I usually just stop what I'm doing and do basic stuff and forget all the "rules" I had built in my mind about how art should look etc. If your using something like FL studio then maybe you just mess around with stuff without watching any tutorials. Try going into music making with a less urgent tone and more of a curiosity rather then a strong will to master it. Just remember that it takes years before you make anything you really like.
